  1. Mech golem customization in general would be nice. I was shocked when it was not in at EoD launch, or as part of a cosmetic package in the gemstore shortly after. This really felt like money left on the table.
  2. I assume, unless told otherwise, that someone would not be wearing their current look if they didnt like it. I tend to try to put together styles that are grounded while being unique to each character. I aim for a different color theme for each character. Those characters that do not see as much play get less attention when it comes to style. I will still customize their look, but it will generally be a simpler, less nuanced approach. This comes from a background in Warhammer (fantasy and 40k) where my main army, especially the champions, would get countless hours of painting while secondary armies would still get a color scheme but much less detail for the individual minis.
  3. It looks a bit like presearing to me, but I doubt very much we will be traveling into the past for the next expac. It looks pretty domesticated, or at least very near to habitation, to me. The lack of undergrowth, etc. A very nice snapshot of a country path. ANet's artists are top notch IMO.
  4. I hope not. I would much rather, if we are going to have bots at all, retain the meaningful choice inherent in the current implementation.
  5. Just to be clear, is it OK to post off topic for this thread which is specifically about just the inspect feature? If so, Ive noted that the Candy Corn Gobbler seems to give only a tiny fraction of its previous yield in terms of XP boost. Is this intended functionality? It could be, in theory at least, just a very bad string of luck, but my sample size is rather large.
  6. You are mistaken. It is already 100% possible to inspect someone's appearance and copy it. There is only one single difference added with this feature...the ease of the inspection.
  7. Again, it has always been possible to copy another's appearance choices. The only difference with this feature is the ease of doing so exactly. Can you quote whoever claims this is the same as AI stealing art (which is itself a ludicrous concept)?
  8. You might want to reread the thread then because that is not the complaint being made. People have been able to see others' fashion choices all along. Not even a Thief can be permanently invisible out of combat. What people want is for ANet to not make copying appearances exactly any easier than it already is.
  9. It isnt, "gate keeping," to adhere to the definition a word or term was created to convey. I am not gate keeping by turning down a grapefruit when asking for an apple. The fact that the grocer has decided that they think the former is the latter is irrelevant. They are entitled to be wrong, but an apple is still not a citrus fruit.
  10. We already have time travel expansions. Expansions and more really. All game content involves traveling through time....into the future.
  11. I dont think that ANet will have sufficient goodwill from the existing GW2 playerbase to create a solid foundation upon which to build a new playerbase for a GW3 MMORPG. Continuation of the current direction and level of investment in GW2 seems likely to further erode the potential playerbase of a possible GW3. After some serious consideration Ive come to realize that any GW3 would need to be something beyond human capability in order to get me to spend money on it. I just dont have anything resembling a touch of faith that ANet has the ability to produce something good at this point. I doubt their vision and their competence. I hang around playing a bit of WvW with friends while being constantly reminded of just how far the studio has fallen over the past few years.
  12. I am not fond of the plated weapons, and have them unlocked anyway, but the AA was OK.
  13. I had a few issues with HoT: 1) A guildie calls out in guild chat for help with a given HP and by the time I can find my way to him he says never mind because the time he has to play has ended. I didnt mind taking my time to explore, just wandering around seeing what there was to be seen, but when a friend or guildie needs help NOW and I am half an hour away due to map design....a large portion of what I enjoy about MMOs goes out the window. 2) Similar to #1, someone calls out in map chat that X event/boss is up....and by the time I can get there it has been over for several minutes. 3) The color pallette. I am green color blind so entire maps of just the same shade of grey that run together makes it difficult to navigate or enjoy the scenery. 4) Bouncy mushrooms, etc. This is made worse in following LW seasons with the addition of floating balls of magic. If I wanted gameplay designed to mimic a Mario game I would play a Mario game. Jump on this magic mushroom to bounce into the air to pass though/capture floating balls of magic? Really?
  14. I preferred the Art in PoF by a very large margin. Didn't care for the design of HoT much at the time but dont dislike it as much now as I did originally.
  15. The idea of a zone where undergeared new players without access to the power creep built into elite specs and the like would be hunted by veterans whose characters are vastly more powerful is.... I honestly am not sure how to express how badly this would go.
  16. I am an arachnophobe, but the ones we see in game dont bother me all that much. That said, after SotO's design made specific, previously optional, mounts essentially mandatory I would rather not see any more mounts added to the game.
  17. No they hadn't. Utopia was not announced. The point stands that even if we change the statement that I originally quoted to be, "only one company," rather than, "no company," we are talking about the only game company to ever do so. Now this means that the one specific company that we are discussing has done what is being discussed and dismissed. Personally I dont particularly care. If GW2 continues I will continue to play (depending on the direction of the game). If GW3 comes out I will at least check it out.
  18. Isnt the only "news" essentially that GW3 is not in development at this time?
