  1. I usually roam or scout, and when I end up the same place as the tag, have had people (rarely) comment on my dps. My only reason for opposing meters, is because some of them come with "other" utilities. Like, when the same person who commented on dps, also asks why I am running a certain rune or sigil (meaning they can see my gear). No reason for any of those things to be in the game. That is literally not possible or at least not possible with ToS compliant addons or a ToS compliant version of arcdps. What is possible though is people noticing effects which go off on certain sigils or runes. Quite a lot of runes or sigils can be easily extrapolated by their effect both visually or by boons/conditions/cleaneses/etc they provide. People in competative game modes like pvp and wvw pay especially close attention to those kind of things. In the past it was possible with one of the common DPS meters used. Also range check that told.you how many enemies are nearby. I left a guild I was a long time member of because they started interrogating members over specific slotted gear pieces or a minor trait choice. I wasn't the target but I'm of firm opinion that it was not how to run a guild especially since it violated terms of service. Other ways to git gud without such tools. The "tool" that allowed that was banned a very long time ago.One of the tools that did was banned, yes. The other one stopped distributing a version that had the same TOS breaking features publicly and was then greenlighted by the developers.
  2. Yeah it would be terrible to see a company reward loyal customers. If it's just cosmetic rewards, like those already in the gemstore, I'd be fine, but if it gives other extra advantages to those who do subscribe, which it quite possibly would, I would not like such a p2w system.that sure is a lot of supposition over something that does not exist.
  3. Yeah it would be terrible to see a company reward loyal customers.
  4. He's asking for a feature that makes it a superior product to him. He's flat out saying that in the long run, doing this work for him would earn them more money. He's doing exactly what you are saying he is not.
  5. The race at dragon bash may be lucrative, but with the number of people I've seen repeatedly doing the time trial alongside me, which doesn't give a reward after the daily, it appears that people are also racing for the sake of racing, so the popularity of the races at festivals feels to me like proof that there IS an audience for this kind of content, but proves they need a more consistent method of organizing. The way I see it, the glaring problem with the open world races as they currently stand is the fact that there's no convenient in-game way to meet up for a race when one wants to, which prevents the racers who might want to race from being able to unless they've memorized when the races start, or coordinated with other people and waited until the race resets. The addition of a menu which would allow players to queue up for a race without interrupting regular gameplay would allow people to race whenever they wanted to, rather than being required to wait on a poorly defined schedule to participate in a race. I think the best I would hope for at this point would be something similar to the World Boss Portal device.Giving us one of these for like 100 TT's complete. This should be easy (as far as I know) because we saw one in the Current Events stuff a few months back."A Roller beetle race is about to start in Brisban Wildlands"That would help the situation in a manner keeping with the activity's popularity
  6. I find the WvW experience to be more varied and interesting. The mechanics at play tend to lend themselves to a more wide open set of encounters and engagements. When I play sPvP I feel like it would be cooler if there were something more to it... I get the limits and it's purpose. It's just seriously lacking in the fun factor that WvW gives me.
  7. If the developers were worried about things being "a pretty sight" we wouldnt have 25% of the current collection of mount skins, 80% of the current back peices, 75% of the weapon skins, about a solid third of the currently available dyes and the overwhelming majority of current power/skill effects. You complaint is a little weak here.People are just horsing around. Get over it.
  8. So Arenanet should put more resources into the mount because it's the least popular among the players.Solid reasoning there, chummer.
  9. The only reason I had the idea in the first place was after seeing how absurdly busy the current festival race has been at dragon bash; if even half that many people participate in a competitive league, it will be a lively place. I get that... and these festivals are great for bringing people together this way. Here is my point of view:Inspired by the fun I had at the festival the other night I decided to go out and try the other tracks. I absolutely loved it. So I went out and earned the achievement that gets you the racing scarf over a couple days. I had a blast. But it was a solo activity. I would see 2-3 other people doing time trials.I "won" three races.Because I was the only one doing them. Measuring the success of this content based on a side-activity of a festival that is tied to a pretty lucrative reward system isnt accurate. Beetle racing is fun but it sure isnt popular enough to warrant the developer investment that you are asking for here.
  10. Given the interest level in the current competitive modes and the beetle racing in general you should probably just be happy with what they have done so far. There isnt nearly enough interest in the activity as your idea would take to make viable.
  11. It's time for people to get over this issue. Realize that it isn't any better or worse than some of the crap people used to pull in dungeons and get on with things.People in this game are a real mixed bag. They are going to be crappy for lots of reasons. The solution, as always, is to play with people you like and trust. Block people who aren't nice and move on with your life. Stop acting like every little slight (be it DPS shaming or them putting down your fashion choice) is a reason for developer intervention.
  12. I remember A.net posting about releasing an elite spec outside of an expansion. I would like to see a link to this. Pretty sure all they said was that LWS5 "Will have some features that are the types of things normally reserved for expansions." And then wishful thinkers assumed this meant new elite specs... But it could honestly mean anything.Yeah that's the problem around here. The last time that phrase got used was actually about LW4.4, wasn't it? When they were hyping up Sun's Refuge? And this community largely took it as some signal we were getting a "proper player housing system" with the Jahai update.Well was Sun's Refuge "expansion level content"? I thought so in that it was a proper in-world, lore driven representation of collections. It was fantastic. But it certainly wasn't the player housing system that many in this community made it out to be. And many people got salty. Just this week That_shaman datamined some reference to a new tutorial area for "something" and at least one of the forum's resident hype-hounds said "this means they are working on restoring season 1"Not one person figured the obvious... that its likely a small tutorial for the WvW event. So yes. I would very much like to see a direct developer quote that backs up this "elite specs out side of an expansion" claim that is being claimed as remembered.
  13. What's fresh about this post is that there's no arm-chair developer talk. No "Anet needs to do this for the health of the game". None of the usual business case without numbers "there's huge money in this" drivel that usually accompanies these posts.Hell there isn't even an attempt by the OP to paint their personal desire one the entire community has by saying "everyone wants this".I almost thought it was a fresh topic. That said @mercury ranique.2170 is correct.
  14. *to the longbow(on ranger), FTFY ;) .No.... but if that makes you feel better....

  16. The solution to Elementalists current woes is not more power creep.
  17. Some toughness and Vit is essential if you are front line. It also keeps you from getting globalled by bursty power specs when you are roaming.Doubling down and decking out in full Soldiers? Wouldn't recommend it. Swap out a few pieces for some damage gear.
  18. How is this a problem with a system and not the guild and their recruitment process?
  19. Clearly you are:-A Software/game developer yourself with knowledge of the patching process.-In complete knowledge of Arenanet's work flow including knowing how long it takes for a Gw2 build to cook.-In possession of the names of all the stakeholders who need to sign off on a new build.-A member of Arenanet's QA team who bug sweeps and knows exactly what to look for and how long it takes.-In contact with someone in Arenanet's employee scheduling department and in possession of the programming department's hours.or...you are none of those things and just talking about the way you think things "should be" to justify your entitlement. It's a puzzler.
  20. They have already gutted the difficulty of the story instances to cater to those who don't want a challenge. The achievements are there as the only thing in story instances to provide some reason to try. Now you want the achieves taken away as well? This is a terrible idea. It absolutely reduces what could be really good content even further into the "click to win"-fest that is rapidly killing my enjoyment of this game.
  21. And yet the same thing happens every night it's Metrica event completer for the daily.Ask yourself why one complains. Could it be all these people struggling to tag mobs in these events are the ones out there nuking down mobs in newbie zones with little concern for the people trying to level?
  22. Not all guilds are fortune 500 seekers.. the effort/reward is therefore totally not equal. So why shouldnt that bigger guild have something cool to work towards?
