  1. Let me just add yet another "no thanks" to more SAB. I would rather see resources devoted to something a wider section of the player base can enjoy year-round.
  2. This I agree is a problem from Anet's end. Watching Anet promote the streams of people like Bogotter or Peachy, who really havent contributed in any meaningful way in quite some time just makes them look bad and out of touch. While I get that they cant really put up links to Teapot I just always thought there had to be someone better.
  3. It's funny to see threads pop up like this from time to time. I do enjoy how all the armchair analysts explain away the situation by attaching their own personal pet peeves about the game and claim that the streaming would be much more popular if only the developers did something they wanted. This thread is in fact full of such drivel already. The reality is that for a MMO it's age, GW2 does "ok" on twitch. Most other MMOs do much worse overall. If you take WoW out of the equation as the outlier it is and look just at MMOs, GW2's average position is about where it should be. FF14 does better because it's newer. BDO is also several years newer. What it doesn't have is a single "standard bearer" for the game. There isn't that one streamer who pulls in 500+on a regular basis. Wooden Potatoes used to no problem, but he said that Streaming really wasnt worth the time he put into it and stopped. If WP were streaming a few times a week, those twitch numbers for GW2 would be much stronger. Just as half of Fortnite's numbers often come from Ninja. But if you look at some of the more "hardcore streamers" who have tried making a go of it with Gw2 as their main game you have people like DJTechLive or DocGotGame. Both these guys made a push earlier this year to elevate their numbers with GW2 and both failed. Both moved to ff14 last month and neither have seen more than 50 more average viewers from it.In fact DJTechlive is actually doing worse some nights than when he was streaming GW2.Peachy and BogOtter have taken what they needed from GW2 and moved on.That leaves us Teapot, who, despite his immense knowledge and passion for the game has finally allowed his toxic community to drag him down with it and his numbers show it. People can sit here in this thread and tell you it's the visual spam, the neglect of PvP/WvW....they are just trying to push their agenda to the front of the conversation.Reality is the game is about where it should be and routinely gets more viewers than the bulk of other games in it's genre.
  4. Congratulations, you have just described the overwhelming majority of the content created for this game outside core Tyria.Lucky you, you get exactly what you want. Your sarcasm would be correct, if not for the word "endgame".What map outside Core Tyria isn't end game?
  5. Congratulations, you have just described the overwhelming majority of the content created for this game outside core Tyria.Lucky you, you get exactly what you want.
  6. You mean to say "I have projected my desires until they no longer met the product being offered by purposefully misinterpreting a developer post and twisting it to my ends. And now I am holding arenanet responsibile for not meeting my fantasy"
  7. Posts like these that decry other players customization choices as drivel are absolutely as toxic as people who call other players "noobs" or "trash" for their PVP performance. Only really difference is their name means even less in the overall.Talk about all the "cool names" you want. But your divisive superior attitude doesnt contribute anything meaningful.
  8. You don't want others to tell you how to play, yet you want to tell other players how to play. Always amazing to see how hypocritical the "play how you want" crowd is. Or maybe they don't understand the meaning of that phrase. that's gatekeeping for you
  9. So after : Participating in this thread by helping one of the requests out and never hearing so much as a thank youNow reading the requests for gifts of Legendary Weapons and 100 BL keysI move that this thread be closed. The requests are straight up ridiculous. It's not people asking for help.
  10. I think you have absolutely put your finger on the real issue. There is a small but very vocal group that feels it is their right to all content by virtue of the time/money spent on the game regardless of skill level or even their own personal interest in it.They will never accept what you are saying, regardless of how logical, even and sensible the message is. From the demand for ARC to be banned, to the demand for "easy mode raids" to the complaints about having to go into WvW for a few hours to earn a legendary weapon, it's all the same. They show up in rare, mismatched armor with zero synergy in their build and expect to be able to do a t3 fractal because the armor is a gemstore skin. Then they hop on to the forums to berate Arenanet for the AR system or the other players who kicked them for underperforming. They spent their time and money, they figure; they are supposed to be allowed to raid. The word here is entitlement. If the players in question could read your quote and come to terms with it, drama would decrease tenfold. But they won't, because when given the choice between a lessening of their power-fantasy and criticizing others they will always choose to blame other people. why should they be forced to pay for content, that theyre never gonna play? thats right ...ENTITLEMENTyou want "exclusive" content...YOU pay for itYou....who started a reactionary post criticizing the developers for the difficulty of a Core Tyria vista....Ok then... have fun in those t4 fractals you paid for.

  12. World bosses are gated by timers. This caps their rewards as repeatable content.World bosses also tend to award at least a cheap rare. Even Fire Elemental gives at least a rare.If I am not mistaken the only world bosses with Ascended weapons in the drop table are Tequatl and Triple Trouble, both of which take a considerably bigger investment of time and energy than Lair of the Snowmen. Lair of the Snowmen is completed in around ten mins.If all Raids offered the level of reward you are proposing and could be done one after another (5 in an hour) and add raid currency to that you're looking at a purposefully easy content that is far too rewarding.
  13. What you describe is the disparity between both sides. Since I've read enough raiders here in this thread that are open-minded to liquid gold reward of 50s, rares and exotics and some also mentioned minis + shards in addition it's the anti-raid fraction that feels this is not enough. So, where to draw the line? If you give easy mode people access to legendary armor & ring people wouldn't run normal mode in the slightest. I'm sorry here but that's why a reasonable approach has to deny that. Personally I think it's enough if people get champ bags + some shards + a possibility for minis. Just compare it to other "casual" stuff, the rewards aren't better there so no easy mode raider should be entitled to demand something completely out of rationality. The actual example with the Lair of the Snowmen clearly shows it: You have a guarantee for wintersday gifts plus a chance for an exotic weapon but you can also get a rare (2 rares out of 3 daily runs for me). So in comparison, my approach is pretty generous but I tell you this won't be enough for the "loot army" which will appear in 3...2...1...And you are absolutely right. Let's say Anet listens to the small handful of people who say "Hey we would be happy with two blues and a green for our easy mode raid kills". The vast majority of people this content would be targeted for would abandon it for lack of reward...rendering all that development time wasted. Then there would be the dozens of threads here and on reddit "Not worth doing!!" or probably "Anet hates casuals".And of course the supporters of Easy Mode raids would then start to argue that the disparity of rewards exacerbates the the division in the player base and loudly proclaim "this isn't what Guild Wars 2 is supposed to be!" "Anti grind philosophy!"..."Play how I want!".... or whatever gatekeeping meme is quotable that week. The reality is while the core supporters of Easy Mode raids may even be honest about their loot expectations, the main target audience wouldn't be happy with anything but Tarir level rewards from Lair of the Snowmen level challenge. And what's worse? You could present a Snowmen level version of all the existing raids and you would still see significant complaints that it wasn't soloable... or that there should be a 5 man version. I created a squad the moment I saw Snowmen was live, capped it at the first ten randoms who joined, jumped into that encounter and had one of the best times I have had with this game in months. It was effortless. There was no wipe, no stress.I still read anecdotes and sock puppet speeches about "guildies who found it too hard to finish" and multiple wipes. Arenanet can't win here, and I doubt the target audience of this content would be happy with any solution. It's better to not spend the resources and be abandoned for lack of reward or lack of solability and just spend the time and money on other content.
  14. I do enjoy the event and have used it in the past to farm up a few intact Mosaics. It's pretty effective.Basically to make the gathering of buried treasure go as fast as possible you can't spend any time dealing with the mobs around. This is especially important if the buried treasure is in the branded areas, where they can knock you back one after the other into more aggro. My biggest tip is to run this event on thief, Staff/Shortbow Daredevil. On your skill bar run Blinding Powder, Shadowstep and Shadow Refuge. Trait that to suit your tastes. Then pair that with a cup of light roasted coffee for food. You fly to the spot the map points you and try to dismount as close as possible to it, then immediately cast Shadow refuge open the chest and either SB5 or Shadowstep away. The quickness buff from the coffee makes this much faster. Often if you play it right you can grab the buried treasure if it's is in the middle of some mobs and be long gone.Blinding powder is also a very effective disengage. Lets also be clear though... the average, low end yield of this event, in terms of raw gold is not that much better than harvesting iron/plat/wood in core Tyria
  15. I've had two. I had Rodgort's Flame drop for me from a bag I looted in a night of Silverwasting. I crafted it as my first legendary and then sold it.I had Zap drop for me within my first 15 minutes of Lab farming this past Halloween, but I had just crafted Verdarach, was down to my last 24 gold and the idea of grinding more materials made me want to cry ...so I just sold the precursor.
  16. Actually they were indeed called Pay to Win by a number of people. The argument was:"The only real endgame in Gw2 is fashion, therefore locking customization behind a paywall is P2W"It was/is a ridiculous argument to be sure but it was screamed out pretty loudly by some of the more entitled. Wooden Potatoes even addressed the point of view in his video when the whole gong show was at it's peak.
  17. Then you aren't looking very hard. The vast majority of the customizations for female armor are fairly reasonable and modest. Sounds like you have another agenda here @Ashantara.8731
  18. You are in group content. If your build brings nothing to the fight, (if your DPS build isn't doing DPS) what specifically gives you the right to be carried? Arenanet has decided that Arc is fair game. It's not your DPS, it's your contribution to the group's DPS and as such the group has every right to know if you are holding up your end.Post your "unique" build. Let's see if your "own style" actually brings any other great attributes to the team. There are plenty of stat sets that can offer acceptable DPS. Or you using one of those or are you one of those players showing up for a rain an a mismatched collection of Rares and uncommons?Have you ever tried to hit a good skill rotation in the middle of a fight? This is Group Content. Just because you dont want to play support doesn't mean no one else does. Why marginalize those players just because you want to be "unique"?What's clear from your post is you don't play much group content and have decided that rather that do your job in the group adequately (and conform to the expectations of 4-9 other people relying on you), you have hopped on the forums to argue about why you should be carried. It's typical of a huge number of players in this community who believe that just showing up and tagging a boss is good enough for top tier rewards in this game. It's not.Nor should it be. I'm starting to think this is indeed a troll looking for a slot on one of Nike's raid rant videos.
  19. I would love to see some kind of shadow mage group buffer and mass debuffer. Something not damage focussed but maybe providing group invisiblity, alacrity and might. Maybe spamming blinds and fumbles on mobs.Maybe group evades? A reliable quickness bot? We have had enough DPS specs for thief. Something supportive that lends to the class fantasy could be really fun.For weapons? Offhand sword could be good...torch would be interesting...maybe even axes. Daredevil and Deadeye are great fun, but I would love to see something support oriented that synergized with some of the core traits and gave us some fun buildcraft ideas. The profession needs a bit more variety
  20. While on the surface you think this might be a good idea, it's what SWTOR was doing when I quit that game a couple years ago and it had a really negative impact on the game and the economy. The only things of any value in the SWTOR economy are things that come from lootboxes. Nothing that drops in game has any value. If you want to make some money the only avenue you have is to bust out your wallet, buy some lootboxes and sell what's inside. on the market. And the reason is that everything in Lootboxes is tradable.

  22. There is nothing on this list I find worthy of the development time it would take to make them happen. They are items you want, and are not necessarily indicative of the community's desires.
