  1. At least remove the aggro from critters that prevent you from getting out of combat while solo roaming so that you can't mount or port away before an enemy zerg jumps on you...looking at you, sand lions...
  2. Is there foot armor yet with calf-high wool socks with a sgian dubh stuck in them? Or bagpipes as a musical instrument? Gotta have bagpipes!
  3. Take that back! Legendary bling is all about Fashion Wars! 😉 Although in this case I highly doubt the legendary relic will provide any kind of glowy effect or floating balls, so yeah, probably just convenience.
  4. Yes, which is why Anet should reconfigure how the defense credit works so that how you defend isn't in question, especially if it leads to earlier participation. Still doubt that will pull any tags off EBG as they don't want to give up their bag farm...
  5. Well, the best way to get credit for Wizard's Vault dailies/weeklies in defending an objective is to let the enemy take the walls down and rush the lord and guards, and THEN attack them...maybe if they would change defense to include killing any enemies within cata range of an objective, even if they themselves haven't done damage to the walls or guards, then maybe you'd get more participation. As it stands, defending objectives outside the walls/gates just isn't as rewarding...not saying it's not effective, as it's clearly better to not have to rebuild a downed wall and waste more supply, but sadly that's not how Anet coded how one gets credit for defending...it was even submitted as a bug report due to how difficult it is to get now:
  6. While the overall rewards have generally increased, can you really say that you have the same freedom of choice on how to complete your dailies as before?
  7. To me the cap on Mystic Coins and Mystic Clovers is more acute, especially with the current cycle being 16 weeks without the cap being prorated accordingly, so we'd have done much better under the old system on these items. Let's hope they eventually settle on 12 or 13 week cycles...
  8. Last night in map chat one ally confessed he's been counting and is up to 41...ouch...
  9. This is true, though because it is more efficient to have only WvW objectives (for example) selected for both daily and weekly tasks, I find that I never pop into any other modes like I used to in completing dailies. I end up laser focused on one game mode just to make sure the weeklies get done, and even then, I've had Capture 3 Keeps at the same time as Defend 10 Objectives and I sometimes can't finish them as both require a certain combination of friendlies and enemies to occur at the right time and place.
  10. Thanks...it was in one of the "afterthought" posts rather than the main post...
  11. Hmm...looked at the last 3 patch notes...not seeing it still...
  12. Anyone else notice they seem to have made an adjustment so you can complete a task that allows your AA total to go over 1300, and only once it's over 1300 do you have to spend it down to cash in another task? Think this is new as of the last patch, but I didn't see it mentioned in the patch notes...at least it saves having to do the math on getting close to but not over 1300.
  13. The previous poster mentioned crafting, so I was responding to that avenue of making clovers. I am well aware of the other ways to earn or purchase clovers, none of which have to do with crafting. Crafting generally refers to the professions that have to be trained, such as Weaponsmith, Jeweler, etc., in which the combination of items leads to guaranteed and predictable results. Results from the Mystic toilet can vary and don't require professional training to throw things in, just like a real toilet, hence my objection to call it crafting.
  14. Not a fan of having more mechanics that rely on pre-casting a skill and having to cast again to utilize it. And they wonder why skill lag is a thing in WvW?
  15. That would explain part of the demand...I haven't been to EoD yet let alone SoTO, being a WvW denizen myself...
  16. My one concern, which also applies to the thread on legendary kits, is that with everyone picking gold and not getting as much of the materials to sell to the TP, we'll be gold heavy and the supply of mats will be lower, so we'll have continuing inflation on the price of mats and your gold won't go as far. Almost 50 silver for Vial of Powerful Blood and 25 silver for Globs of Ecto, about double what they were just before the Vault came out...the legendary kits may have contributed to their supply/demand ratio, but now there isn't the constant influx of materials as we had in the old daily system, the rewards are now player choice and many will skip the large material bags entirely, at least until inflated market prices make them more worthwhile.
  17. I talked to someone that only had HoT and SoTO, and they were able to unlock greatsword for Herald even though they didn't own EoD to unlock Vindicator. I can't confirm this since I have all the expansions...
  18. Plus there's still a lot of work and gold/materials to sink into the Gen 1's to finish them even with the contents of the Kits. I'm at the point where having done WvW legendary armor and 2 other Gen 1's before the kits came out that I don't have any Mystic Clovers left, and at the rate they drop, 20 per Vault cycle (and this cycle is a whopping 16 weeks) and 2 per WvW reward track, it's going to take a while to make the 77 needed for the next Gen 1 unless I buy and use Mystic Coins, which have gone up in value along with the price of all other materials...almost 50 silver now for a Vial of Powerful Blood, and 25 silver for Ectos! I'd say the market has made a correction such that the remaining materials are now more expensive than they were previously, so the Kits aren't as much of a deal as they were the first time around.
  19. If you already have the legendaries yourself, you can make more and sell them for gold, so you're still ahead of the game. Also, removing the dungeon currency from the equation has motivated more casual players to actually consider working on them, which gets more players back into Core Tyria, which has been pretty dead since all the new expansions have come out and they don't want new players to think they are getting into a dying game.
  20. Probably has to do with the most expensive thing in the Vault is now 1200 AA, the mount skin in the Legacy tab, so there isn't much wiggle room between 1200 and 1300 AA without going over, especially if you have a Weekly chest or a Special tab mission that you're finishing just to get that item.
  21. This is a bigger deal than being short AA...communication is not their strong suit these days. Sure, they'll throw out a broad overview, but the details are lacking and we're left to guess on many of the mechanics.
