  1. ⬆️ Surprised (maybe not) by the amount of critiques against the OP. Gaslighting people into: "What are you taking about? If you keep losing games then let's look at the constant factor, yes, it's you. The MM is more than fine, you just refuse to bring up the W/L ratio of silvers, you shouldn't be having fun play the game properly. Stop the bad roTatIons! And the balance is near perfect as well, love to see that every class playstyle is rewarded now. I love playing my bunkers since my favorite cOnqUest roLe is: to never die." Stay dead sPvP.
  2. It does look good everywhere but WvW. I tried it last night in WvW and CoR did about half the damage of Sevenshot while also being 5 times slower. Epic 0.91 coefficient. 💀 So for WvW at least, the weapon is unusable against targets that know you are there. In sPvP's FFA arena, there was this very good rev player who was constantly farming the average pvp player with a hammer. It was quite entertaining. However, the moment a good player behind a mesmer started dueling, they started dying, until they swapped to shortbow instead. Posting this in case anyone knows who they are, very good player in my eyes: https://youtu.be/u3hKp_JwhYs Hammer does look great for memes and team fighting. AKA fighting people who are unaware of your presence. But only as long as the damage is that high, which is not the case in WvW.
  3. Very interesting actually. Could work. I don't like how they are balancing the whole spec (power) around Death Drop only. I do think it's poor game design and it's actually also the main complaint of other players, 3k-4k Death Drops. And in PvE they simply deleted Imperial Impact as an option as well, the build variety is so poor. It is now a dead trait in every game mode. Yeah, the balance is so kittening bad. In both PvE and PvP. The risk-reward ratio is completely out of whack. They seem to exclusively balance around golem benchmarks and imaginary scenarios.
  4. Hammer does look interesting in sPvP, but I just hate the game mode and how it limits build variety. I got sick of it early on and still have no desire to go there, so I still stick to small scale WvW.
  5. Anything but a support weapon, kittening hell. And a two handed weapon or at least a main hand and an offhand💀.
  6. Too bad Coalescence of Ruin and Phase Smash still keep their 0.91 and 1.0 coefficients in WvW. Trash. Still shortbow for everything. Imperial Impact, gone. No chill, no damage and now no boon extension. And scepter is even worse than before for competitive game modes, meanwhile warriors staff. Certified ANET update.
  7. Ehh, a lot of people can argue that it isn't fine in WvW either. After thieves, small scale WvW is plagued by WBs and some variants of ranger.
  8. Most definitely. Very silly of some people to say that the game is finally very "balanced". When in fact it is ridiculously strict, with some classes only allowed to play one role, one specific way, and nothing more (meanwhile guardian). Unless you are a guardian or a ranger, your list of competitive options is non-existent, as there is nothing else but one thing at most to play and be somewhat competitive. In the case of Revenant, it is to play glass Vindicator (Death Drop, Devastation) in order to kill targets before they can retaliate, and that's it. And it has been that way for over a year now (and no vind has won any mats either). Boring. Why do people think there are so few players left? Really just because of the lack of content? No, the game just got boring. Conquest as the only game mode is a joke and the main reason why the build variety is trash, since everything has been strictly "balanced" around it. The direction of the game, if there is one, is indeed repulsive. (PvE is also an atrocity)
  9. Yeah, noticed the same thing. Is the wiki right? Why do some weapons barely have pve/pvp splits? According to the site only mace 5 for rangers has a pvp split, the other skills are using pve coefficients inside pvp. Same goes for warrior's staff, which is the second most overloaded weapon. Funny. Edit: Necro swords also barely have any splits. They really didn't test this much, the beta was just a thing to test for crashes I guess.
  10. People keep getting memed by hammer 4, huh? It's very funny to watch the lobby arena and see people playing one-trick ponies like that and still clown on players.
  11. Death Drop is by far the best vind dodge for PvP because the devs want vindicators to burn their dodges as soon as they are up for damage, so they can die easier and kill easier, another way to speed up the game, and similar things happen with other things. Anyway, not a fan of that either, I like Imperial Impact a lot more, but it's just dumb not to use Death Drop, and for some reason Imperial Impact got nerfed to the ground a lot harder and earlier than Death Drop ever did. So there is no other viable and competitive option at the moment. By the way, it's asinine to compare a Minor Adept (Reckless Dodge) to a Major Grandmaster. Bound is a fairer comparison, however, DD has 3 dodges (From 100 endurance to 150), they count as leaps and can have better endurance replenishment when wanted. That sounds pretty good and interesting, actually. Would love to see something like that in-game. Yeah as I said, Death Drop is just the best by far and not very interesting.
  12. Yes, very underwhelming specialization. And the moment it started to be used by Vindicator, they nerfed every synergy to the ground. The peak of game design incompetence. "You should only be playing Devastation, the only allowed way to play and be competitive is this way." It's just mediocre at everything: bad sustain, bad damage, bad utility.
  13. That's why I haven't bothered any further. This is unhinged. Curious though, how not a single pro/sweat/tryhard/whatever you want to call them, player, ever bothered with core revenant. I guess all the hundreds of them were just too bad, too dumb to understand and master core revenant, aka core has never been a thing, not once. And well, you have seen it: >Despises Vindicator, the only remotely viable pvp spec against competitive players in probably two years now. (Last time it was somethin else was when Herald had quickness on facets) >Still hates the build a lot of revenant and competitive players enjoyed. Power Herald, which used to be a high risk/high reward fast paced spec with plenty of telegraphs for anyone watching. Complains that it was only ever a one-trick pony that couldn't duel anyone. Bruh, thats what the nerfs pushed it to be. A high risk/mid reward spec with no agency. >But still likes Condi Herald even though it is x5 times easier to play and master than Power Herald. Another build designed to constantly vomit condis all over the place. And everyone knows Renegade, specifically Kalla, has been bad for most of its existence, but the only reason it has never been buffed to be good is because each skill covers a whole conquest point. Blame only having one game mode. Basically, the only competitive builds should be whatever the OG core revenant player says. "If only vindicator didnt exist. I then would be winning MATs with my core revenant builds. Good thing Power Herald is not a thing anymore, at least that makes me happy."
  14. Ok, now compare those attacks and coefficients to rev's staff. Or it could also mean that rev staff has been garbage for years now, not only power-crept but also outdated in design, specially in contrast with these weapons. (And tbf I also don't know the state of thief's staff as a melee weapon.) Be glad that you still have damage, because strangely enough, warrior's staff doesn't have the usual pve splits on every skill, such as the auto-attack.
