  1. I saw this and knew that was the issue. I was going to say drop Reflections from All to only Terrain and Sky. This was fixed in the core game previously, but for whatever reason this map suffers from it all over again. I noticed it when the map was first added because I recognized the behavior (actual fps remains high, but it looks to be ~5 fps). It is reflecting literally everything in the water that is under the map. It should not do that, and therefore kills performance.
  2. Correct, that is what Anet devs have said on it. Once the worlds are created, those that then mark it as their wvw guild will still be on whatever world those players were generated on. It was also said, however, that they will have the option, provided the world the guild is on isn't already full, to move to that world. It was also said in the OP that a percent of the population will be reserved for guilds that are marked for that world, so yes, you may be able to join a guild and then transfer to that world. That could lead to a full server, but not to an overstacked server, and come next world change, they will be split up everywhere all over again, which was part of the point. As for Alliance, Anet hadn't fully decided on the population cap of the alliance, and we won't know it til the month before it's fully implemented. It may very well not allow people to select that guild as their WvW guild, if the alliance is already at it's cap. I can't think of an alternative they could take, without limiting the number of people that can designate a guild as their WvW guild. I was originally against the idea of alliances and losing servers when it was first heavily talked about years ago, but after watching my server's community overrun with a sudden influx of people that many in the community did not want and the drama that occurred, I was ready for alliances. Now, I'm so disgusted that I'm waiting eagerly for this to be implemented, but still considering spending gems to move til then, if I were to decide on a server to move to.
  3. It is very annoying and has been 'fixed' or at least had a bandaid applied multiple times that I know of. You can actually keep moving you just can't see where you actually are, as your character and the camera appear stuck in place. I'd rather the camera kept going and then load us in >.< I'm even on an ssd
  4. Welcome to bugged animations central, the place where whatever can bug, will. Spellbreaker does this all the time, just like mirage and ranger gs (other mesmer skills have done it in the past as well, mirage is just more consistent with it). This issue I have happen to myself and other mirages connected with mirage thrust ambush skill. I typically duo while playing and I will often see the other person bugged this way, or my own character. The other person however rarely if ever sees the bug, and only on themselves the very rare times it happens. For me, it's daily.
  5. For the same reason NA and EU can't play together in pve.Players in one region cannot play with those in another, unless they pay and move their account to the other region. Doing so introduces a noticeable latency. Who are you going to force that latency on? All the EU players, or all the NA players? Setting up the backend to work that way pretty much requires rewriting the server and database access based on what Anet has said before. For pve I can imagine some ways they can get around that based on what they've told us before, but WvW is a different beast.
  6. I thought those chats are normal, seen in many servers. It may be seen occasionally on some others, but those that I know that left hod have yet to see anywhere near the amount seen on HoD, and it's worse now than when they left. There are dumb people and trolls on every server, but the extent seen on HoD of the dumb is beyond ridiculous. It's rather willful ignorance, as explaining what the opposing groups are actually doing is ignored at best, and generally met with elaborate conspiracies. And in general, it's primarily HoD and not the linked servers doing it... Of course it's not everyone, but it's far too many that would rather concoct conspiracies rather than make and respond to callouts. More power to anyone wanting to change that, and perhaps get people to not nearly all die and actually down enemies in small or large fights, so I don't have to expect everyone around me to just drop dead... Not really, from what Ive been told by players from other servers HOD is nowhere near the level of the mushshroom clouds of toxicity found in a few other servers. And a lot of that drama is linked to wvw coordination. Its one of the more laidback communities which has its perks but also its disadvantages. The fact that the majority of current HOD guilds have been there for over 2 years is testament to how stable the server is but its not as organised as other servers or as numerous so it floats between tier 4-3 What I said and was referring to is different than the toxicity seen on some that I'll decline to name. I'll also decline to get into the reasons behind it's tier positions and other things, besides saying that wish many knew how to fight better... It is definitely not the place it once was, but in general, yes it is among the more laidback, with some outliers that take it too seriously like every other server has. you referring to the KOTA era? I am curious cuz ive been on HOD for 2 years so one might say I missed the "old HOD" lol kota 'era'? I've been on HoD since it was created as a server, except for a brief time that my guild left in disgust at others when all the drama occurred around a grim, pretty much how it was predicted and many of us warned about, but alas, people don't listen. Quite a bit of money was wasted by quite a few people, which I found funny in a twisted way. Not dark enough to satisfy my humor, but still... Even then, HoD was just a shadow of what it was before that. You could say I was referring to the time from TA (gw2 release), through Tournament Season 2 but really before. season 2 had a lot of transfers in. After many left it was still far better than had been recently. Season 3 was meh. What's left is very much a remnant of a remnant with the bulk of HoD being transfers/new players In all honesty, was considering leaving until Anet announced this WvW change down the road. The above comments were due to some of that disgust that I pointed out.Fortunately, it has seemed that the constant chat bs of spies and being doubleteamed hasn't been apparent, and occasionally people around aren't dropping dead in every small or even larger fight.

  8. Questioned that was raised in a discussion, and I'm hoping this and other things have already been discussed in a brainstorming session... Hadn't seen clear indication this directly was answered, but some allusions to it perhaps.How will the system decide worlds for those that want to go in wvw for the first time/haven't been in wvw for weeks/months? Will they be pre-assigned a world or decided when they try to go in? Relatedly, would people be assigned a world even if they only play pve at this time?By same token, if someone chose a wvw guild, but quit the game for an entire season or 2, how will they be assigned? If an entire wvw guild semi-quit for a season, then suddenly all came back, would that be addressed somehow? Could have questionable consequences if done en masse.

  10. To be honest, server identity became irrelevant with megaserver and world linking, especially since links sometimes change. Communities will be able to all join the same guild/alliance for those that want to stay together. No, not all will join, but then again, they could leave now at any time if they chose so it really isn't that different. Something that seems to be missed is that all that changes is that you won't have the same 'server name', but you'd have a guild name, and a chat that would go beyond just the wvw maps. Only question on that is, perhaps Anet should allow a 6th guild slot so people could do precisely that easier.

Idk, I thought it was a feature to have mantra's, scepter attacks, shade skills, projectiles, and I'm sure I'm skipping some like renegade utilities no pathing, attacks saying obstructed for little to no reason all the time. And then some other things can be hit where shouldn't be able to. Like scourge torch 5, skills with an arc, coalescence and other skills going through walls/gates. and on and on :/
  13. I think you left out the part about chat constantly complaining about spies and being double teamed, and the lack of vuln on gates, otherwise I think captured it fairly accurately. Although, roamers and roaming builds can help a tag if they know what they are doing.
  14. It's lag related, specifically seems to be client lag. If your client has not finished loading the environment, you are likely to see this happen. If you aren't stuck in the ground, you may see your mount and other's T-posing, just standing there with no animation. It may rubberband you back to where you started, and slide/run you to where you moved all over again. Additionally, if on a slow laptop, getting on and off a mount repeatedly can leave multiple copies of your mount standing there for others to see. Was odd to see a line of 3 skimmers just sitting there riderless in LA.
