I haven't played in years and they should have done this years ago. It's like when I was asking for skill splits at launch. Also, where's the Ranger pet rework Colin said was being worked on when I asked him at ComiCon 2011 before the game launched and I played a demo of the game?

LOL. I suggested this in fricking beta. Back when builds actually meant something before you nerfed traits and therefore any limited creativity a player could have in making a build their own, this feature would have been useful. No wonder I stopped playing this game. I've always kept an eye on it in hopes of returning, but this ain't it, fam. 7 years too late. This is a baseline feature that should have been included with the original release, not some cash shop cash grab. My suggestion: Dev team, start thinking outside the box again. Everything y'all have done for the least 4 years is safe, uninspired, greedy, and lacks any sort of creativity that this game used to be synonymous with. It's a real shame.

marvel heroes had a version of this with purchasing the playable characters. most characters were 400-600 of their earnable in-game currency. you could also get a random hero token for 175. IF--and it's a big IF--ArenaNet kept it random but lowered the cost to 175 gems, I'd be ok with it but only IF--there's that big IF again--we could get exactly the one we want for 400 gems. Once again, just to reinforce my opinion...RNG sucks. I just want to buy the thing I want. If I can't do that, then I don't want or need to play your game anymore.

To even have implemented this in the first place was tone deaf at best, and shows blatant disregard, contempt and greed at worst. The last month in all of gaming has been the community at large saying they abhor this exact type of thing.

The lack of the word "RNG" in the title of this thread is part of the issue. The skins are rad. The RNG is flat out awful. I got 3 Jackal skins, 1 of which I like and it doesn't matter. I did NOT want a Jackal skin. I also got a Skimmer skin. I also did NOT want a skimmer skin. Do you see where my consternation comes from? Consequently, I've decided to no longer spend money on gems until this is changed. RNG sucks. I want to spend money on things on want, not spend money to get things from you that I don't want. Is any part of that hard to understand?

I want to be as diplomatic as possible, but also get my point across as clearly and concisely as possible how I feel about the RNG Mount Skins. They suck. The skins are rad. The RNG is the part that is bad.

Lack of craftable and earnable armor sets is a shame.Elonian/Spearmarshal sets are variations on same thing. <--- This is a long term issue now not just a one off thing. Griffon races are amazing. Would love to see more of them. Surprises are good. Griffons were surprising and great. more of that please.
