  1. Than don't. Legendary is not required to do any content. It's a long term goal that you want not need. So put in the legendary effort or don't.
  2. A race of human-eating beasts with a Spartan culture? Can transition from bipedal to full four legged gallop? Not just reskinned humans like other low-effort fantasy RPGs? Superior/sleep and /surprise emotes? You should ask yourself why wouldn't you delete all your characters for Charr.
  3. There's something wrong with their coding that makes it so kit skills can't be stowed. Imo this needs to be changed for FB tomes too. Not being able to stow/cancel your skills feels bad.
  4. You want a symbol on AA like hammer?? Bad idea and bad design, look at hammer complaints people have had for years, a big one being the symbol tied to AA. Your pistol 2 and 3 is too similar to Harb, Engi and Mesmer. Your pistol 4 is way too overloaded, reflects and condi cleanse!? But I do like your pistol 5 and would want that.
  5. Yes please Anet. This guy Guardians.
  6. I reject your rigid definitions on what Guardian should and shouldn't be. The profession can fit the ideals of a 'Paladin' archetype, but it isn't and shouldn't be bound to it. It's canon that Guardians are the evolution of the GW1 Monk class not a traditional 'Paladin', yet it hardly resembles it anymore save for Willbender Physical skills. You can still RP as a Paladin. No one is taking that away from you. The only thing that should stay true of the Guardian profession, no matter what direction Anet chooses to take it in the future, should be 'Virtuous' and 'Lawful'. imo that should be the only theme that should be tied to this profession. You can be a virtuous/lawful gunslinger, it doesn't betray the class identity.
  7. You don't think a Sheriff or Van Helsing theme fits a virtuous Guardian?
  8. Can't wait to RP as a police officer! Use Bane Signet to 'arrest' your enemies and Spear of Judgement to hand-cuff them!
  9. You're right. However the population is at such a low number right now that silvers are frequently being paired with gold+/plat players. I think it's much more than the top 10% using this tech because you have to consider that this is a very old game by now. The few players that are left are the ones using this tech to gain any advantage they can over the average player. If we want to level the playing field, which is one of the biggest reasons PvP was so attractive to me specifically in this game (normalized stats and skills, the only differential being players personal skill at piloting their character), than we have to disable this tech from pvp.
  10. Learn to play issue. If a DH is using Dragon's Maw than they aren't using Renewed Focus and therefore are significantly more vulnerable. You can dodge out of the trap on initial trigger/port/stab/burn a stunbreak out. Multiple solutions exist for you. But this is derailing the conversation. My hot take on how to make pvp better suited to the average player is to disable about-facing. No where in the game is this tech explained to the average player and they are at a significant disadvantage when facing a veteran. No one does this tech without using macros and it makes several builds become degenerate like engi and ele. I honestly believe that the original designers did not intend for this tech to be used in this way, and I think pvp combat would be a lot more healthy without it.
  11. Firebrand, just disable it from being an option. Put it out of it's misery. 😭 Also Cata op.
  12. That's a great idea. I'd like to see both the shiverpeaks and arid types of dolyak warclaw skins as an in-game wvw reward since they can just reuse assets for those. If it was on the gem store it'd have to be a significantly updated and polished model.
  13. All I read was that this player has lots of skill and tons of effort.
  14. Yes, OP can try the in-game cap of 60fps to see if it makes a difference on their temps.
  15. It's your opinion that 48fps is terrible, but it's my opinion that the difference between 48 and 60 is extremely marginal/negligible. It's well known that GW2 is a CPU intensive game anyway, a high end GPU isn't going to do much, and like I said my 3070 runs at a very cool ~50° which ensures the longevity and health of my card for a very long time for when I want to play more modern games. Edit: I'll add the fact that I play at 4k resolution.
  16. Limiting frame rate is the best and easiest way to lower temperatures. I have mine at 48fps which is a good middle ground between 30 and 60 and keeps my 3070 at mid 50° temps.
  17. You're right, I am assuming that and I don't blame you for being pessimistic given Anets balance history.
  18. As a guard main my hot take is that I'd like to see JI gutted. Imo a lot of Meditation skills are crutches and holding the whole profession back (as in they could and should buff other skills but not while JI and RF remain so dominant). They should half the distance, and or require LoS like OP suggests. Or give it the untamed treatment.
  19. The point is FB is a sitting duck charging it's mantras. We're talking about one of if not the slowest movement spec, and one of if not the lowest representation in sPvP. The best pvpers in the game can't make the spec work no matter how many boxes and terrain they use to try to avoid pressure. The spec just melts. So my initial reaction is to try and come up with ways that the FB could mitigate more of that pressure without boxes or terrain. Ideally you'd just use what the spec is good for which is Quickness in order to get the mantra charging out of the way. Yes, in my opinion, all of the FBs mantras are keeping it down in sPvP. Not the only thing keeping it down, but they all do such a pitiful job that in my eyes they do need more umph. I do like the charging, I just think there could be an opportunity to do more here (in terms of not having the FB melt the second an enemy glances at it).
  20. You have a point. Blocks seemed like an obvious class identity mechanic that suits a Guardian spec. But it doesn't have to be blocks per-say or it doesn't have to be a long duration of a block. (speaking specifically about the sPvP game mode) My argument is that FB definitely needs better mitigation and the kind of mitigation that can be reactive. There's good mitigation in Tome skills but they all have far too long of a cast time. By the time you try to open a tome and use a skill reactively, the moment to use that skill is way past gone. That's also why I would like to see Tome skills be self-cancelable at least. So the FB can recorrect according to what is happening in the battle without wasting a page. Than the skills that do look like they were designed to be used reactively like Echo of Truth or Portent of Freedom give out such a pitiful duration of blind/stab that you'd never be able to make consistent use of them.
  21. If the FBs form of mitigation from pressure while charging his mantras in combat is jumping on boxes, than FB will remain in F tier (for sPvP). At least a Mesmer can distort, stealth or port (away from an enemy) while doing so.
  22. Just because the warrior elite specs use different weapons doesn't mean you have to. You can be a greatsword wielding Berserker/Spellbreaker/Bladesworn.
