  1. Although it would be far better if we could choose whether the guild hall was a PvP zone (use only PvP gear) or a PvE zone (use only equipped PvE gear). Right now, it's locked to PvE with no way to change it. If we have to choose only one or the other though, it should just be a PvP zone, period.
  2. Went to a new instance and the problem cleared up. All good now.
  3. Yeah, hopefully just a bug then. Though I've ran lab for a long time and I've never seen this happen, personally.
  4. Is this intentional? I certainly hope not. >_>
  5. New guild features and Guild vs. Guild! The first because the guild tools are very lacking and haven't been touched in bloody ages, and the second because sPvP REALLY needs some love already!!
  6. What are you talking about? Wizard's Vault is a global feature. You don't need the expansion at all to use it in full. The only thing you won't have are, of course, the SotO objectives and items. I guess? It presented a box for me where I could immediately select what I wanted. If you didn't make a selection there, oh well. It's not the end of the bloody world.
  7. I lol'd. Dailies are NOT gone. Quite the opposite. What the hell are you smoking? You don't need to do PvP. You can select which gamemodes you want to do.
  8. And what exactly do you mean by that? Nobody's FORCING you to do anything. If you want to do some content that isn't listed, then just do it. You'll still get rewards from that, and it looks like there's still some rewards for doing incredibly basic actions like dodging in combat. Also, as far as PvE is concerned, I think you'll have rewards for specific regions as well. (By the way, this forum software's quoting system is infuriating.)
  9. Exactly. So it means you actually need to, you know, play the game instead of sitting on your butt in town cashing in on laurels and mystic coins.
  10. If I recall correctly, I read in a blog post from ANet that gem store availability would be majorly improved, but it looks like there's still a bunch of items that are still being pulled from the store. This greatly disappoints me. ANet why do you make it so hard for me to give you money?
  11. https://static-brand.ncsoft.com/ncsoft/invest/result/20230809/report/2Q23_PT_ENG.pdf As of Q2 2023, GW2 is in the #3 spot out of 5 for total sales in their PC MMO lineup, making a total of ~$15 million, not far behind from the financial heavy-hitters Lineage and Lineage 2.
  12. GuildWars2.com main page (on the carousel) currently boasts 16 million players, probably monthly. Even if they were completely talking out of their butts and it was only a third of that, that's still ~5 million players. Just to give some context for that, WoW reached an all-time peak of ~12 million players in 2010. Now, you guys can argue all you want to about semantics, and I could be wrong about these numbers here, but judging from all this and also my years of playing this game, I believe it. You can decide what you want to believe and how pessimistic you're going to be.
  13. Fine. Here's a much harsher source. https://mmo-population.com/r/guildwars2 Current active daily count is 350,000.
  14. 100 monthly players. lol ANet really has let PvP completely stagnate.
  15. https://activeplayer.io/guild-wars-2/ Yep. 15 million plus monthly players. Very super dead, guys.
  16. I think a lot of people in this thread are being really overly negative. A lot of these combat changes alone look really neat. But I ALSO think that them ONCE AGAIN ignoring PvP and guilds is getting really old. Hell even if we just had an announcement that they would do something about these two at a later date, I would be perfectly assuaged, but we don't even get that. The best we got is the WvW restructuring, which I GUESS is cool and it was needed for WvW, but I definitely think sPvP and a guild overhaul should've taken precedence.
  17. Actually, I think it should be like this: You can only be in ONE guild at a time, BUT you can "friend" an infinite number of guilds. If you're a friend of a guild, then you can see the MOTD, member list, and participate in the guild chat. That's it. Guild friends will have a designation next to their name in chat showing that they are only a guild friend.
  18. Even if we put those aside though, my point still stands. The DX11 update would never have been done if this game was in maintenance mode.
  19. Post-watch thoughts: I'm very very surprised you didn't mention the Fashion Wars. GW2 has an insanely good cosmetics system, and so many people including me have gone absolutely ham with it. I've even made a kitten good Arthas character complete with Frostmourne. The only problem with it is that some cosmetics are not available to new players due to them being available only for a limited time. Although I think ANet has very recently came out and said that they were gonna have much less limited-time items and would bring a lot back on a permanent basis. PvP needs work. A lot of work. It's infamously been left to stagnate and the community is getting really mad. The core combat is so kitten good, so it's a terrible waste that the PvP system around it has not gotten any attention from the dev team for years besides maybe balance patches. Guilds need work as well, although not as much as PvP. People often have to rely on a third-party service like Discord in order to have effective guild management tools, and it's bad for everyone. The guild leader has to try to get everyone onto the guild Discord or they simply have to do without a lot of tools. And what's more, players just do not want to have to deal with a second middleman just to interact with their guild community, it's incredibly annoying. It completely takes you out of the game literally and metaphorically, and desperately needs improvement, especially in a game called GUILD Wars 2. - Putting all that aside though... GW2 is still the best MMO one can play right now. The only other MMO that really competes with it in quality right now is World of Warcraft Classic, and that's ONLY because the PvP. For pretty much everything else, GW2 makes WoW look like yesterday's news. Guild Wars 1 as well deserves a big shout-out, because to this day, it still has incredibly unique and super fun combat. People are still playing it even now.
  20. "I PLAYED GW2 AGAIN AND THIS HAPPENED" OP: I'll watch it soon after I get through some other videos.
  21. Citation needed. This is very probably due to connection speed instead of the graphical and computing power of your system. When it comes to these massively packed instances, GW2 servers need to take into account a LOT, and even further, it may inevitably be that one or two people have slow connection speed, so that will bring down the speed of everyone else.
  22. Did you not read the announcements? Further, why would they invest all this time and money into shipping a DX11 version of the game if they were just gonna keep it in maintenance mode? Do you KNOW how much work it probably took them to completely rewrite the backend of the client and then bug-test it so it was a perfect 1:1 with the old client? And THEN redo all the dev tools so that they're compatible with the new client? Hell, we even got a new SAB world map. Wasn't much, but it was something. It's true that GW2 WAS in maintenance mode for a while. No argument there. But it's very clear that those days are behind us. And I absolutely hate that PvP has been neglected this much, but regardless of what you say, recently speaking, it's certainly not because GW2 is still in maintenance mode.
  23. Bump. And to the people saying GW2 is in maintenance mode right now, no. You're just wrong. PvP is flat out getting neglected. Whether out of necessity or not, I don't know, but it's definitely getting neglected.
  24. For the love of everything, fix PvP! Add Guild vs. Guild. Remove cheaters. Add a report button for cheating and botting. Do SOMETHING! PvP in this game has been utterly stagnating while PvE has gotten all the love. Even WvW has been getting more attention than PvP. This is an embarrassment. I hate that every time I recommend GW2 to someone, I have to add a big fat asterisk in the form of, "Yeah, this game's amazing but don't ever touch the PvP if you can help it."
