  1. Completely agree. People talk about GW2 all the time how it doesn't have the "trinity", but it's actually much worse. You need 10 mandatory buffs on every raid or CM encounter in addition to a tank and heals. At least the trinity is only tank and heals + DPS.
  2. How can Thief possible be in a good spot when they have the lowest HP of any melee but only deal the same amount of damage in addition to having no additional utility?
  3. WTF??? Why would you do that? I hate those targeted wells because its hard to see where your cursor is in big fights. Why would you nerf this? Also, arn't the point of gyros that they're mobile wells? Isn't that literally one of the selling points of the class when it first came out? You're just going to take a feature you sold the class on out of the game? Seriously?
  4. Safe bet Guardian.Good everywhere in PVE and pvp incase you get bored of Fracs.
  5. Thief = pirate. You sing shanties to give people boons. That or bard.
  6. No there shouldn't be any difficulty settings for raids. In games like WoW difficulty settings are a gear check more than anything, which is barely existent here. The only thing needed is skill, which you only get by going in and doing it.
  7. The more stab the better. The CC in this game is out of control.
  8. I would love it. A Skald/bard with axe/axe or something would fit perfectly.
  9. No offense but, considering you're technically a 'new player' and all, might want to get some experience under your belt before you go judging classes like this under every profession sub-forum. Thief does have fair amounts of AoE damage in staff. Thief is far from unplayable in solo content due to evades, sustain options and solid damage. The game is not exactly rocket science. I bet any one who's even gamed moderately can pick up any class in this game within a day and perform at a modest level. Every person I've asked in game and outside the game have echoed the same thing, that thief is a glass cannon and difficult compared to pretty much every other class except maybe ele (most people recommend warrior or guardian). There is overwhelming evidence everywhere that thief is one of the weakest professions in pve. My own experience matches what is being said . So I'd say my judgement is fairly on point.
  10. I took my Thief into HOT and it was miserable. Such a glass cannon. If you get caught even a little in a stray aoe you're going to die. Every time you get randomly cc'd its basically instant death. The slight high single target damage is NOT worth the rest of the class being basically unplayable. Especially since regular pve rewards high AOE damage, which the thief doesn't even have.
  11. The VA in this game are just a complete hit or miss. Literal talking frogs talks like some random dude on a couch speaking in perfect Tyrian (English). Half the dialogue show no hints of emotion or variation. It really feel like Anet just hired people and told them to read a script, without telling them the source or context of the conversation, so everything sounds like a random day in the park.
  12. Returning player here, haven't really played after release. Here's what I think about Rev as a noob, after leveling it from 1-80 in the last few weeks. This is speaking from a player who's never done high-end PVE content, so I'm not going to comment on the power level/meta status since they can change at any time, just how the class plays. The class feels like it's all over the place, the legend switching feels like a chore. I would like to be able to devote myself to being possessed by a single legend if I wanted to, but it seems like with the way energy regen works, they expect you to switch constantly. This feels like a constant break in my flow when I'm playing. This also means I really have limited customization over my build, because 90% of the time I'm only using a single skill on my skill bar(the toggles) since I can't swap the other skills out for anything else. The weapons the class has access to are..weird? For a heavily armored fighter, your biggest weapon (the hammer), involves you throwing ghost hammers around(what), instead of bashing heads, like a plate wearer should be doing. That just seems off to me. You also only have access to Axes in your offhand for some reason...I mean did you master train you wrong on purpose as a joke? So that you only know how to use an Axe with your non-dominant hand? The underwater skillsets also seem unfinished...my elite skills literally just vanishes off my bar when I step in the water. The overall vibe I get from playing the class is that it's made to be complex and unique, for the sake of being complex and unique, not because the gameplay flows well or thematically on point. I like the idea of being able to channel the skills of GW legends, but I think the execution is all over the place.
