  1. What this 2 hour meta needed, was a combination of the Drizzlewood South meta, where you get more than decent rewards for doing that kind of pre event, AND then a massive chunk when you defeat the boss, + the turtle quest once you've done it for the first time, similar to Dragon's Stand. As it is now, the Boss is just feels like an invulnerable training golem with blinks and teleports, at the end of a 1 and a half hour renown heart quest. The way it is set up is so anticlimactic when you look at how much effort you put in, and what you get for hanging on a thin rope, because not only is the outcome largely dependent on the ability of people who may not be as good as you, but also completely dependent if the boss likes you or not. Even when we had a fully organized and buffed squad, the boss just decided to literally run around us in circles during the damage phases, not sitting in one place longer than 10 seconds, just so that the tail could respawn 15 seconds after we killed it. To call this frustrating, is honestly an understatement when you add up all that there is. Why do all of this, when your experience and mechanical knowledge is completely irrelevant because you got unlucky? Listen, I'm not someone who is for participation trophies... but 2 hours for basically nothing doesn't feel like you failed the Meta, it feels like you get punished for doing the Meta.
  2. /rant on/ So, I just did this for the fifth time because I heard there was an update to this meta. The first 4 times I did this were before the patch, and I swore to never do this again, until something's getting changed. So something's got changed, but it literally made no impact. The best I, or we, have gotten, was 15%. Those 15% were a breeze. The dragon was sitting relatively still and we had relatively long damage phases for some reason. Now, 15 minutes ago (we failed at ~23%) it was actually the worst run of all of them, people were going insane. The boss literally swapped position in 10-30 second segments, most of the time closer to 10. That HAS to be looked at. It can't be, that we have to do a mechanic, so that we are able to deal damage to the boss, that in itself is almost impossible to do sometimes, when the mechanic keeps swinging all around the Arena, and everyone is just busy running across the map. The coolest thing was, when we had just defeated the Tail. The boss changed position, we did 10 seconds of DPS, just so that the Tail could respawn almost immediately after trying to kill that tail for 20 seconds!? The problems aren't the phases, the problems are that the phases themselves are so overloaded with cluttered mechanics and RNG and inconsistencies. On top of that you have new players, who also HAVE to do this meta for the first time at some point, and the "DRAGON'S END META COMPLETED!" videos don't match what happens on screen. Yeah no shart you did it, because the boss was sitting on a plate for you to kill it. All that will do is discourage players to never touch this content ever again. And so won't I. I've done the pre meta 2 times. Along with the meta (each one hour long), that's 7 hours of pure focus and trying to not mess it up for the others. I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. Yeah I'm salty, but it's honestly supremely upsetting, when your own mechanical skill and experience is worthless, and your destiny is in the hands of randomness, for the most part. We have Sandstorm and Canach's Casino for that part of the game, the latter being actually fun though. /rant off/
  3. We tried the meta 4 times now, a friend did it 6 times, and failed each time. A meta being hard is only good if it's actually manageable. If you keep it this hard, people will just walk away and not do it in the future, and it'll just become even less likely to be completed, and then no one will ever be able to do it. I mean, really, think for a second.
  4. I'm on the exact opposite here. I was about to make a few suggestions how we could turn the utterly dull resource gathering into fun and potentially more profitable side activities, by allowing us to bring in player action, in order to spend more time on one node, but also extract more resources. Heck, you could even go as far and make it optional: Learn, switch or equip a certain something, that turns the mining, logging or gathering into a similar mini game as fishing. I find the fishing to be EXTREMELY chill and amazing. It's so cool to be able to just take a rest somewhere and do something in game after a day of Meta events and focused gameplay, that is different from everything else, but still gives you some kind of profit or progress in the game itself. I want more of this to be honest.
  5. I'd definitely love this. It's mildly annoying that everything has a hotkey, and the mastery skill doesn't, on top of having this very tiny button that is especially tiny on a 21:9 UI interface, which also doesn't really have correct size scaling to this day.
  6. And it has returned. Mounting and unmounting, as well as stowing/drawing weapon removes the back item. I can uncheck and recheck and it reappears. Changing the aforementioned state though, makes it disappear again. Sometimes gliding makes the back item reappear too. Edit: Happening in WvW after weekly reset. Was fine before.
