  1. I had believed GW2 HoT to be the best content released by Anet until I played GW1 a few years ago for the first time. Nothing comes close to GW1. Probably a correlation with content difficulty. I think it was a mistake for Anet to keep making easier and easier content. Because now, we have EoD and SoTo which many today will agree are not up to the standards of previous expansions. And seeing this trend, I don't have much faith in GW3.
  2. Wait there are still people that don't believe GW3 is in the works? lol
  3. As it should be. To have ambition and constantly striving to overcome limits is to be human. It is what separates us from animals. Thank you Anet for finally not caving to the unambitious casuals and taking this difficulty away from us. We now have a title that genuinely lets us know when we are in the presence of greatness. Hopefully this title will not be sellable due to power creep or some future exploits.
  4. As someone who has never attempted HTCM and all strikes that were released after HTCM, I like that they release this new cm at this difficulty. I might not be able to clear this cm this year or the next, but I have a long term goal to strive for. There was a time where I was an "open world only player" and can never imagine myself clearing all raid cm's, but I eventually did clear them and got all the titles. I plan on doing the same with all strike cm's. Right now, I am enjoying WvW and have not touched instance content in a while, but I can see myself coming back to this and feel excited just watching the top groups progging this on twitch. So when you ask who this is designed for, I would say it is designed as a potential goal for the entire player base. Don't hate on the dedicated top .00001% just because you are not strong enough to even attempt it. Just become a better player then come back.
  5. Do you play on NA or EU? NA What team were you on during January 12-26? Phoenix What team were you on during January 26-February 2? Reaper's If there is a day of the week and time of day you usually play, what are they? Weekends, Tues/Thurs Did your world restructuring matchups feel more or less balanced than your regular WvW Server matches? More balanced Did you select a WvW Guild for the beta? Yes Was your guild part of a larger alliance guild? Yes Were there usually commanders around during your normal playtime? Yes or I tag up myself Which week felt most balanced and enjoyable for you? They were all balanced What part of world restructuring felt the most well executed? Team balancing, our squad win rate was about 50% What part of world restructuring feels like it has the most room for improvement? Can't think of any
  6. I agree with OP. This is what happens when you keep catering to the ultra casuals. I think Anet will eventually introduce an "auto-play" mode that will allow players to afk while their characters continue playing the game and progressing their account (automated open world completion, automated Gift of Battle farming in WvW, auto battle in PvP, automated fractals/raids/strikes completion, etc.) I avoid playing Open World for more than a year now because of leechers and afk botters that scale up meta events and discourage tagging up, but I still see these types of players in competitive modes. Just two days ago, I was running open tag in WvW and had someone continuously whispering me asking for shared participation so that they can afk and still farm their Gift of Battle. They even offered to pay me. Please Anet if you are reading this, stop catering to the ultra casuals. Do you really want the game to head the way of those auto-play mobile games? I just want to play the game but these casual leechers are getting real annoying.
  7. Hey better late than never. After a week or so I am still having fun and the folks I play with also like this beta. Btw we run fairly small (15-20 players) and fight outnumbered most of the time. Fights are still great win or lose.
  8. As someone who plays with an organized guild and uses discord for voice comm, I am having lots of fun with this beta. I feel there are way more epic fights than before. I see some arguments against the beta in the forum here but they seem to be mostly from anti-social individuals that refuse to join guilds or discord but yet want to play with familiar faces. How do you even balance around that? After all, this is "Guild Wars 2" aka "War of the Guilds" aka "2 or more guilds duking it out". I think world restructuring is the best solution we have so far. Another argument I see is "how unbalance the match up seems to be in this beta". Well duh. This is week 1. It should be mathematically impossible to have good balance on the very first week with no prior data to work with. It should take a few "WvW resets" to balance out the teams under this new system. I suspect many Maguuma bandwagoners folks from NA or whatever the equivalent is from EU are unhappy and complaining here. Too bad so sad because that is precisely what World Restructuring aims to solve. No more omega stacking one server. Please Anet let this go through.
  9. I am pretty sure the Terms of Service states that you actually do not own anything in your account and that Anet has the right to take away anything they want for whatever reason at any time. This is very common in all games with microtransaction. This is why I don't spend money on pixel especially when I don't even get to own it. You have to agree to the terms when creating your account.
  10. just tried to tag up on Green BL Dark Haven server and most of my squad and I were constantly crashing halfway into trying to travel via warclaw from citadel wp to Hills. no add-ons here as well and we were not in any fights. I did not see any enemy nearby in all my crashes. I called it after my third crash (each crash being about 1-2min apart).
  11. I will just list what they have or do differently than the average server: Highest number of active players at all hours (always a que on EBG) Experienced pug commanders that respond very fast to enemy movements I don't think they have any coordinated guild atm? Their players are typically solo players that are above average but will usually lose to any serious roamer in a fair 1v1 Their players make good use of sieges and traps They have very good communication via team chat to defend all objectives and keep track of enemy zergs Their players care the most about winning and will do everything they can to defend or capture objectives down to the last man. They don't seem to care about the rewards from the dailies/weeklies or keeping participation up. This means they will capture every single objective and spawn camp the enemy if given the chance to crush morale at the expense of getting 0 gold per hour.
  12. Sounds about right for doing anything in open world so I don't see what the problem is. When I was going for Raid legendary armor, the hardest part was having to farm the HoT metas over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
  13. They don't let rewards be automatically collected anymore because they are trying to reprogram you into opening up the wizard's vault. It's a psychological tactic to make you play more than you intended. I would not be surprise if someone with a PHD in psychology/human behavior was hired to help implement this. They also made the wizard's vault much more rewarding than the old daily system so you will greatly fall behind other players if you just try to ignore it. You will find yourself constantly checking the wizard's vault throughout your play session. I try to get around this psychological tactic by only opening up the wizard's vault at the very end of my play session to collect my astral acclaim before logging off.
  14. You are right to be worried. It's a subtle method of letting newer players catch up at the expense of devaluing all current veteran's account value. Whatever effort you put in to currently acquire something in the game will 100% be easier to acquire as more expansions get released. See skyscale, legendary armor, legendary weapons (gen 1 at least), ascended gears, build templates, anything that can be purchased off the TP since the large increase in gold income from the wizard's vault, etc. Also there has been crazy power creep with every expansion which makes older pve content easier to complete as well. This is why I mostly only do WvW. It doesn't matter how much easier the game becomes if it's the same for both ally and enemy. I wouldn't invest too heavily into this game if you only do PVE. About 3-4 expansions later, I would not be surprise if a newer player can churn out a legendary weapon once per week without gem to gold conversion.
  15. Using this template: Open World Legendary Armor: Easier Skyscale: More Weapon Choices for All: Runes and Relics: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For me: Open World Legendary Armor: This is good because there will be less afkers/semi afkers in WvW and PvP that only played for legendary armor. The raid scene will take a hit, but it was already declining anyway. I do a lot of WvW so actually looking forward to this. Easier Skyscale: This is probably good. I just can't see my casual friends/families committing to the current skyscale grind if they were to start playing gw2. Let's be honest, they would lose interest and just quit. More Weapon Choices for All: I am neutral on this. The try hard min maxers like myself will just gravitate towards the new top builds following the meta as usual while the casual role players have more options. Happy for them. Reminds me of GW1. Runes and Relics: This is bad in my opinion. It is most likely a power creep and raises the monetary ceiling on "maxing out a build" for everyone. That goes against the original game philosophy I think.
