  1. Pros of PvP -basic gw2 combat system is engaging - easiest way to get leggy armor unless you have a raid group Cons of PvP -botting and afkers that will not get touched no matter how much they are reported -balancing of classes is a joke -incredible amounts of toxicity (expect to get flamed even in unranked, especially by metaslaves when they see you aren't playing a meta build) -matchmaking system is designed to keep you at 50% winrate -low PvP population means you will be fighting against players of much higher skill -no new maps or modes released in years Overall: cursed game mode, save yourself. play PvE and just be happy
  2. Graphics look slightly better. Not worth crashing every five minutes though.
  3. Another meme tier warrior spec. Good for one-shotting open world mobs and nothing else.
  4. Gunbreaker is the best elite revealed so far
  5. Everything they are offering in this expac has been previously offered for free in the living world episodes, except elite specs and fishing. Without those specs there would be no reason for people to spend money (unless they really want to pay $30 for fishing.) I personally prefer if they released a new class like other mmos but guess they don't have resources for that.
  6. The real question is how is this thread still alive
  7. Can we all just be happy with this title before they change it to 'long-term-commit-ment' because that's how it's actually spelled in an 1852 dictionary or something
  8. Oh boy Wait until you find out about the 'return to' content
  9. I have a 1-person lvl 27 guild hall which I work on in my free time. Favor is only a problem in the first few levels. After that the time interval between upgrades will go up because more mats will be needed, and you'll have enough time to accumulate more favor than you need. Also recommend getting the pve mission slot upgrade asap so that you get three pve missions a week instead of 2. Treks are soloable and races can be done on Sundays when many other guilds do theirs.
  10. It comes down to whether you trust the company to release a good, quality product that's worth the money. I never pre-order because in my experience companies rarely live up to the hype. I wait for the game to come out, check out some reviews and if it still looks good, i'll give it a buy. Saves me money and regret later on.
  11. Short answer is, they managed to convince people that 1 traitline = a whole new class so now they dont need to do more. Just release some new traits every 4 years and we good.
  12. It almost feels like people at anet don't communicate with each other. One dept. creates season 1 content, then someone decides to make private only, effectively killing the content. Then someone else says they're now bringing public back. Maybe hold team meetings or something anet.
  13. Well thanks to this post, we now have a post with people asking for hearts in EoD. Don't try to fix things if they aren't broken. Especially something they already fixed two years ago.
  14. Hearts haven't been a thing since 2019, it's pretty clear they're moving away from it. Why even bring this up?
  15. I think anet would give us swimsuits (or any feature) if they think we don't want it. Kinda like how we got a pegacorn mount that nobody wanted (or needed) #never4get #putitoutofitsmisery
  16. Psionic for mesmers definitely sounds more relevant than virtuoso. Harbinger doesn't make sense at all, i think they just tacked on a name that sounds kind of ominous and necro-ey. From google: Harbinger - A person that announces the approach of another. Doesn't have anything to do with drinking potions or spreading blight. Willbender just sounds vaguely sexual it needs to go asap.
  17. Dragon response missions. Lets avoid more of those.
  18. So a 'balance patch' which ignores traits & skills for 3 entire classes (ranger, warrior, and thief) and gives scrapper even more boons? is this an out-of-season april fools joke?
  19. You get inner peace that you never have to do a dragon response mission again.. ...until the next time they make us replay them
  20. Ah yes..changing offline to off-line. The change we didn't need (or want), but the one we deserved
  21. I feel like people who are using "spammy" to describe gw2 combat don't actually understand what that word means. Not targeting you specifically, there's been quite a few people who've used that in this post and you just happen to be the latest. The only class that spams in combat is thief, because thief skills have no cool down and the class is designed around the initiative mechanic. Hence thieves spam their skills. No other class has skills with no CD and therefore can't spam. The fast pace of gw2 combat has always been one of its greatest strengths imo. Look at other most other MMOs whose 'combat' is basically you standing still clicking skills and tab targeting in a yawnfest. So I disagree that the pace of the game needed to be slowed down. The main issue is powercreep atm and again imo I don't think blanket nerfing every class, including to go so far as to nerf useless traits that nobody even uses is the right way to go about it. To address the powercreep they should have looked at each trait/skill individually and asked themselves, is this skill working as intended, and then make adjustments accordingly. It feels like this patch is more about slowing down the game with a blanket nerf so that more casual players or players who can't keep up with the current pace can cope with PvP, than it is about addressing the actual issues that veteran players have with the classes. To reiterate, the powercreep should not be handled with a blanket nerf shorcut but rather by taking a tailored approach to each class. If a particular skill is overperforming, identify and tone it down. No need to turn over the games whole combat system into final fantasy 14 because thats what makes it unique.
  22. Meta is called powercreep. Thanks for trying. Next.
  23. Based on this response and your earlier ones you appear to either hate rangers for some unfathomable reason, are secretly an employee in disguise who feels the need to defend every action they wanna take here, or straight up don't know what you're talking about seeing as you thought dolyak stance was a warrior skill. Yes, we get it. This isn't going to be permanent, they will make changes in the future. Does that mean we shouldn't give feedback at this point? No. There's no need to try and justify/defend everything or generalise things to make the discussions about specific skills and classes appear irrelevant. That's why we're here. If you wanna actually discuss the issue that I'm talking about..that rangers defenses are being stripped away without actually being replaced with anything, and hence my point on swoop, then let's discuss that. Saying things like "you'll adjust" or "longer TTK for all classes" or "give feedback on the whole" doesn't help anyone. The whole is made up of each individual component, and that's what members are trying to contribute towards. I don't hate Rangers, I'm just not affected by the same bias as you. I've approached looking at this game's need for balance and looked for problems in every class, even the ones that I play. That is I'm a Warrior main and I 100% agree with the changes made to it. The passives on it needed a rework so giving them the 5 minute ICD pulls them from wide use to give them time to do so. Warrior Might generation needed attention and it got that attention, it will more than likely be much less after the patch. Bull's Charge got the damage reduction to 0.01 like it needed. Rampage needed its damage skills to take a damage reduction as well, and Reckless Dodge had its damage reduced as well. All things that I agree needed to happen to Warrior, and I play Warrior religiously. As for the Dolyak Stance remark...I freely admitted that I made a mistake there in reading and owned up to it and continued the discussion afterwards. Dial it back, man. So many people have tried to pinpoint the exact wrong things that were problems with classes for a long time, and some of the actual things that made problems on classes weren't all hit with this update but many were. I don't fully agree with what happened to Mirage's dodge, I think it would have been more appropriate to alter it so that Mirage can no longer dodge while CC'd, just as an example. I've spoken with long time Soulbeast players on the topic of Swoop as well and they have agreed that its a lot of movement on very short cooldowns and something needed to be done with it. A cooldown increase is the most mild of changes that will potentially serve to bring it in line with other mobility skills. Imagine if they had cut the movement directly in half on each of them? I get the feeling you wouldn't have been happy with that and its a much more drastic change. Like I said, I understand reading about your class getting nerfed in some way can be frustrating, but objectively speaking its a change that needed to happen. Give feedback all you want, but keep in mind people can also challenge the logic behind it because sometimes people might not see the picture so clearly. I challenged it because the comparisons you made to double Swoop didn't make much sense. Don't assume I hate anything just because I disagree with it, or you for that matter. I don't.In my second comment I actually said that they can reduce swoops movement points if it's such an issue, which you seem to have missed..increasing the CD is more disruptive imo since rangers can kite less often. This is a problem with stealth being taken away, counterattack also getting higher CD, dolyak stance stab getting higher CD, and losing evade frames on a class that didn't have as many options to begin with. I agree with a lot of changes they've made as well, including to warrior which I main. That's why I chose to focus on a specific issue which could be handled better.
  24. I play warrior, ranger and necro with a focus on warrior, and I use smokescale and sparrow on ranger so youre wrong on both counts, sorry to disappoint :( try reading what the conversation is about before jumping in spouting nonsense
