  1. Windows 10 20H1 Core i5 9600KF not overclocked, 16GB of RAM Gigabyte GTX 1660 SUPER, driver version 471.96 While the game appears smoother (possibly better frame times?), it suffers from random hitching and micro-freezing. I had to relog back to DX9 during a fractal run because every few seconds framerate would drop like Wile E. Coyote. It's so brief that you could miss it if you blinked your eyes at the same time, but it does screw up with your input, imagine if you're trying to quickly walk through a tight corridor but your clothes constantly get caught by hooks on the walls and you have to stop and untangle yourself. This hitching appeared also in open world, mostly when simply looking around, and I was unable to trace it to a specific object or effect. Needs to be addressed, the issue doesn't appear in DX9 mode.
  2. Like in the title, happens only in DX11 mode. Happens even in "Windowed Fullscreen" setting. I'm guessing this isn't intentional, but just in case it is - this should be an opt-out feature in the graphics options. Forced V-sync causes horrendous input lag when dragging interface elements or simply panning camera around the character, sometimes chugging around half a second behind the movement of your hand. WORKAROUND FOR NOW: In case anyone has problems with this, you can turn off V-sync in your GPU settings. For me it's in Nvidia Control Panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Scroll down, set Vertical Sync from "Use 3D Application settings" to "Off". Click Apply and restart the game client.
  3. Can someone explain why am I getting so many emails in different languages about lunar new year event? I understood the message perfectly clear in english the first time, you don't need to repeat it to me several hours later, and most certaily you don't have to do it after you have repeated the message 3 times in German, French and Spanish.
  4. Like in title. With music and all. We're not in the desert anymore, PoF character selection has been there long enough. Please make it happen. Thanks.
  5. The fact that different faces have different eyes and that it can affect their brightness is something I noticed long time ago and it didn't bother me (as much), but it really depends on the lighting. I remember not being able to pick a violet color that was vibrant enough during daytime. Celestial eyes weren't that bad back when I had a completely white druid sylvari. Look at that screenshot though. On "the most popular female sylvari" face the difference between different lighting is INSANE, with postprocessing actually making things even worse. The eyes are nearly black even though I think that Neon Blue is the most vibrant blue color available, and Desolation on default face is a bit better but it goes all over the place: from dark yellow to orange to very bright amber, it looks nothing like on the Makeover screen where under both lighting options it looks like a very bright yellow. Compare that to any human eyes. Not sure about asura or charr, I don't have any characters from those races. But point is - most colors become way too dark under many circumstances.
  6. You know what I'm talking about - no matter how vibrant the color is, whatever you pick, no matter how many gems you spent on the total makeover kit - unless the light falls at just the right angle or it's currently night time, your favorite salad character will have completely black eyes. I just cannot be the only one person who's bothered by this, but I assume that it exists since the very beginning of the game and ANet has refused to fix this issue - so my question is: why?
  7. Will probably never happen, but sometimes I really wish it was possible to choose between default and more "relaxed" backpack wings. Long ago I bought hawk wings backpack and glider combo and while I absolutely loved the design, I just couldn't stand the fact that they are never properly "relaxed", they just stay incredibly stiff and sort of frozen half way, it was ruining the balance of my character, at least to me. Compare that to wings of love skin or scaled dragon wings skin - the difference is night and day.
  8. So let me get this straight: We have sylvari, the plant people. We have plant-like armor sets too (cultural armor, sets from TA dungeon etc). We have plant-like weapons as well (warden weapons, TA dungeon weapons, dreamthistle skins etc etc). We have a plant-like glider (floral glider skin), and we have plant-like backpacks too (desert rose, the wayfarer's henge etc etc etc) We even have a sylvari pod mail carrier, a sylvari pet for rangers, and a few distinctively floral finishers like thornroot or toxic offshoot. Do you know where I'm going with this? There is one extremely important thing that we don't have. Mounts. I want a complementary set of sylvari/plant themed homegrown mounts. In one package. I don't care it doesn't make sense, the ultrashiny star themed mounts also don't make sense. And yes - with Skyscale. Make my ultimate sylvari main character something more than... well, a Dream. (HA! Get it?! Sylvari - The Dream! ...I'll see myself out.)
  9. This is the first time I've ever seen this happen. Today I was doing a lot of Tier 1 Nightmare with people that are new in fractals. I was rushing with slb gazelle charge and greatsword 3, and an elementalist was rushing with his own skills, we ended up at the top of this wooden bridge roughly at the same time, turning off the AoE circles on it. But Arkk failed to show up at the arena. He is supposed to have a piece of dialogue and then kill a hallucination, which spawns Siax. But there was nothing! Eventually someone found Arkk at the bottom of the bridge, still on one of those hologram platforms. No dialogue and no reaction to any of us, even if all of us did /gg command. We were forced to reset entire fractal and do the MAMA boss again. Has anyone ever encountered this?
  10. For those of us who enjoy lore, myself included, it would be amazing to have some sort of glossary in the hero panel that saves all the plaques, books and other important text after interacting with them for the first time. That way we can enjoy shorter timers for meta events AND after all that hard work, enjoy the lore of the game without being in a constant hurry, sitting on a krytan barstool in Maiden's Whisper within Rurikton.
  11. If only ranger's longbow was interesting and fun to play... Right now the only 2 reasons people use longbows on rangers are: Rapid fire + sic'em in PvPFashion Wars in open world PvE, since 99% of shortbows look wimpy.Ranger's longbow is slow, boring, has zero burst and no sustained damage and doesn't even pierce since Marksmanship trait rework, you know, as an extra middle finger whenever your cc gets wasted on trash mobs. So we, the poor, miserable people that chose rangers as their very first characters and still hold them dear, deep in their hearts, are spamming PBS because trolling other players temporarily disguises all the rage and sorrow inside us, that would otherwise take over our minds and drive us to depression. Please forgive us. Because we lost all hope of longbows becoming useful and fun long ago. But so many of those longbow skins look awesome.
  12. This has happened to me only twice (about a year ago and now a few days ago) - both times I got kicked out of the game and was unable to log back in on any of my characters. The same fix worked on either of those cases. If you are running Windows, turn off GW2 client, try flushing your DNS and then check if you can log back into the game: -> Start menu-> Search for CMD or Command Prompt-> Run as administrator-> type the following: ipconfig /flushdns -> confirm by pressing enterI don't know how the procedure looks on other OS so you'll have to look it up on your own.
  13. I don't think I've seen this reported before - I found this by accident. This happens on all my Sylvari and Human characters, all of them are female and have different physique models. However I did not notice this behavior on my female Norn. I don't have characters from other races or males, so someone else has to check that. Basically - if you fly on your Skyscale backwards by pressing S key, and then keep rotating your camera to the right (with RMB, so the mount rotates too), your character's left leg bends in a way that would make even most famous and skilled gymnasts say "Man, that is really messed up".
  14. Sometimes I wish we at least had an option to make shoulder pieces exactly the same on both sides, for armor skins and outfits too. There are not enough black lion chests on the Trading Post to contain the entirety of my disappointment and irritation when I discover that I like only one side of the shoulder pieces and the other is either too light or too heavy and ruins the "balance" (for lack of a better word) of the character's appearance for me.
  15. Unless I'm missing some serious lore reason for that, I think Unbound Magic orbs from LS3 should also replenish Skyscale's flight bar (Bloodstone Fen sounds like a fun map for Skyscale), and Ley Lines should at least be able to clear out red portion of the bar, allowing it to fly without gaining, but also without losing any altitude (and since ley lines are still used in LS4, I guess it's not an entirely abandoned game element and could potentially create some fun puzzles in future maps).
  16. I don't have these gauntlets myself but there are a lot of other armors in the game that have wonky dye channels, I strongly suggest trying out different dyes from different sets (not only colors, but materials as well). The glowing scales on Requiem armor tend to have slightly green-ish tint in some places when you apply many yellow dyes to them, sylvari Firstborn armor just seems to pick an additional color for its bioluminescent parts when it feels like it (for example most green dyes will result in a red dye applied to the glowy parts), and Ice Encasement outfit will have red smoke and particles around it if you paint it all white, because... well, you got me there, I've got no explanation for that. It really bothers me, but if you look hard enough, you might find a dye that will cover those flame (feather?) parts completely with one color.
  17. We will have to see, I was thinking about it myself. Now that she is an elder dragon and has powers of Kralk, Mordy and Zhaitan, there could be something she can do to save Taimi. Or maybe Taimi will be working with Gorrik to put her mind into a golem, like Blish? I'm worried though that now that Aurene is an elder dragon, they will make her in future seasons into some sort of elusive deity - you know, the "she's out there, guiding us, even though we don't see or hear her" thing, and she will never manifest her self in a physical form to us or any other character. Which means no cure for Taimi even if she could create it. And no interview. I actually want to see her give Taimi that interview she wants so badly. After all the care, right from the very beginning when Aurene was just an egg, watching over her from Rata Novus day after day after day making sure she's okay, making a nest in Sun's Refuge, and all those tears shed when Aurene died... She deserves it, dang it. Not to mention all the other things we could do with our grown up little dragon, like maybe trying to heal the brand that her grandpa was carelessly leaving behind everywhere, or maybe even figuring out the ghosts of Ascalon... Or taking a trip to mists and asking Glint if she knew Kralk was in pain. Or if she knew that she possibly has a grandmother. Or anything, like smashing our beloved councillor Phlunt's face into Rata Sum's pavement for treating Taimi like trash. That would have been something. But I digress.
  18. I hate this too - nothing better than getting kicked out of your griffon only to find out that glider is also disabled, so you're just falling to your death - might as well put a giant middle finger on my screen, for I have sinned by having fun on griffon while in core Tyria maps. Honestly, just change jumping puzzles into "adventures" - put a starting banner or NPC at the beginning that will put "cannot mount" and "cannot glide" debuffs on the player once activated, and make the final chest appear only if you are in that "adventure mode". If done this way: We still get the challenge of completing a puzzle the intended wayWe still can have polite mesmers altruistically teleporting us from start to finishWe don't get suddenly dismounted while exploring the map or simply moving from one place to another.Looks like a win-win situation for me, but since there are a lot of JPs in the game, changing all of them would probably take much time and effort.
  19. I decided to create this topic for two reasons: to give some feedback to devs and to gather a bit more information, in order to confirm that this is not an isolated issue. Also keep in mind that my grammar is far from 100% correct, still learning english - however I'm doing my best to make it as readable as possible. So about the feedback to GW2 devs - I think you got a bit too carried away when making the new Living World map, Istan. I know that you want to go very big, create these massive locations for players, make mounts even more natural etc etc. That's perfectly fine with me. But after playing on Istan for a couple of minutes, and then spending twice as much time in the options menu, all I can say is - the performance is just terrible. Guild Wars 2 chugs when I'm trying to explore this location. I have 2 fairly powerful PCs with different configurations in my home - none of them are able to keep reasonable framerate on this map. Turning the camera around my character in Astralarium reduces the game to powerpoint slide show even at lowest settings. Updating drivers, turning off unnecessary apps in the background - nothing like that works either. I know that i5-4670K or R9 290 are electronics that already have a few years, but I still fully expect them to get at least unshaken 30 frames per second on lowest possible details. Especially since exactly the same computers are perfectly able to run newest games at medium/high at 60 FPS. You guys need to think next time where is the line between getting more fireworks and sacrificing too much performace. I dunno, ask the Kodan so they could teach you about Balance or something. And now the question to the community here - I've already asked multiple times on map chat and it seems like many people are experiencing the same problem on Istan (with my favourite comment being "So what, 10 FPS is the true cinematic experience, right?"), but would be nice to know if members of this forum also have similar issues. I got used to some performance drops in this game, but so far those were appearing under specific circumstances or in small parts of the map. Istan took this problem to a completely new level.
