  1. If you want to use bow for damage, you don't benefit from any of the trap or aoe damage boons. It'd be nice if a DH can benefit from their own boons. I'd be okay if a DH can reliably generate just might and fury at range without using, say, shouts, let alone quickness or alarc.
  2. Personally I wish they'd just remove that slot completely. It's unnecessary. Just use the stats from you helm underwater. This is coming from a person who got the legendary rune for the breather.
  3. I just sort of wish they remove the stacking buff as a balance around the meta. Let it simply be a way for people to get more loot, but remove the damage buff so people can just drop in and beat it without doing the pre-event stuff. Heck, if you don't want an antique stone to be that easy, let it only be attainable if you have all 10 stacks of the buff. Everyone else gets everything BUT that for not having the full stack, a map mostly not having the buff won't kitten the chances of the meta being beat.
  4. I don't think t he lingo is the issue, I think the UI is. It's just an LFG dump, there's no way to list what you're playing, party creators can't list what they want in the UI. It's all lingo and lingo tends to be short and abbreviated. I don't blame the players, it's a UI design problem. There are other MMOs with WAY better LGF tools. Since I know most of the lingo I tend not to have issues... Now... Joining popular map metas and having to play the almost always "map full" game is WAAAAAAAAAY more annoying and user unfriendly.
  5. Just shows that if this was an instanced raid, the people that are good at it would be enjoying it a lot more, but as a meta map...
  6. I like the expansion, mostly. I can fully understand people not liking it though. I felt they stepped up their game on story achievements (barring the terrible UI and locked behind the terrible final meta) I actually like the strikes and have been doing them... Well the first two. The third after getting the turtle thing is just too tedious to bother with and the harvest temple, the boss that just takes way too long and is too annoying. And then there's that final meta which I think runs counter to the whole design of EoD and is a really sour after taste to an overall solid expansion. BUT, like I said, I like the expansion however I can see why people don't like it. Oh and as a casual GW2 player, I see no appeal in legendries, even the new ones. Every time I look on the wiki to see if I finally want to get into it, the amount of mats required, family tree looks of mats needed to make gifts and all that is just... No. lol I think how long it would take it just make a single legendary when I want at least 3-4 for a single hero, let alone alts... Nah, this end game carrot is not worth my time and this expansion did nothing to change that. As for art direction and story, yeah I mean that's based on opinion and it's unfortunate you don't like it but understandable. The nice thing though about GW2 is you can just walk away and come back later having no sub!
  7. I haven't been able to beat the meta but my biggest issue is it runs completely counter to the expansion. EVERYTHING before the expansion, the story, the maps (including the metas), even the strikes, are designed to be casual, quick, and if you know what you're doing, easy enough to complete in small pickup groups of other competent players. Then you hit this meta and you need1-2 hours, be very competent and be VERY organized. It's basically a raid in the open world. This meta would fit in an expansion like Hearth of Thornes where everything was designed to be more difficult but this meta just... Makes no sense to what seems like the direction of EoD seem to be. I feels like whoever designed the final meta has absolutely zero contact with the rest of the team on what they were doing. If their goal was to make it feel like an epic conclusion, difficulty does not equal epicness. There's metas in the base game that are more epic than this fight. Dragonfall, Dragon's End and Auric Basin are more epic feeling AND rewarding. Heck Echovald's meta feels like a better balance of challenge and epicness. On a side note, blocking story achievements behind this meta when it's so hard to beat, some requiring multiple wins to finish is just dumb.
  8. I find using celestial and all sigils is fun brain-dead play in open world. For talents, reducing weapon cooldowns and boosting sigils is super simple gameplay. At least I find it brain-dead fun. It's not max damage by any means but in open world you don't need to min/max.
  9. I was one of those people ANET so "justifiably" banned in the last ban wave.Safe to say I missed out the main grinding time from episode 2 to episode 5. So they throw some cost them noting gems my way after they were proven to not know what they were doing with the ban, I catch up with the story and get this thrown at me. A grind I was never able to participate because of a direct bungle by ANET.Save to say, I'm sticking with my Griffon. I'm glad I have no plan to drop any more money on ANET because this grind reeks of Activision-Blizzard artificial padding to keep people playing. This is all sorts of sad honestly.
  10. I was one of the people they unjustly banned in April and got "vindicated "after they realized they messed up. I decide to give them one last little thread of a chance, to at least go through the LS to see if it's worth even bothering coming back. First new map I get this bug and can't progress. It feels like their trying to make my return experience terrible on purpose. lol
