  1. Your experience with the support team mirrors my own back when GW2 had a bug with the game constantly flipping in and out of windowed mode or causing momentary black screens when zoning. Then there was a separate issue regarding the lag in game when Anet switched the game over to AWS servers. If anything at all. Lets just praise their support team for remaining consistent...consistently bad when it comes to dealing with the community. The only difference between our individual experiences with the support team is they didnt tell you the reason was malware that was messing with your game. But i dont blame the support team, they probably dont know a single thing about the game let alone play it.... And the reason i say this is because If you look at how robotic their responses are, its like they are reading off a script and not able to deviate from it. Even though a different support agent responded to you each time. They all roughly gave the same scripted answer. Ever had a phone call from scammers telling you youve won some sort of prize or they need remote access to your PC? If you lead them on a bit then say something absolutely non related, random. It really really throws them off and they dont know how to deal with you apart from adamantly trying to course correct you like choking a dog with their leash because its not something thats written on the script they are reading off ---- This is the same feeling and experience that i get when dealing with Anet support. Its not the same as when we used to have lovely community managers like Gaile Gray we could escalate issues to.
  2. If there are any OG GW2 players here. You guys will probably be able to recall that lag spikes wasnt an issue till Anet migrated over to use Amazon AWS servers. It was around the time where Anet did a big overhaul of the armour upgrade system regarding things like runes & other stuff. As far as i can remember lag spikes started happening after that and myself and some other players have been pretty vocal about the lag spikes, disconnects & other network issues that plague the game. Occasionally its so bad that a rep has responds and says they will speak to their network team - if they ever do is anyones guess. But most of the time, the people that complain about the lagging face off against other people/players who say the game is working perfectly fine for them so its not an issue with the game. I play other games, I have used the same ISP for the last 5-6 years but never have i ever had lag that is absolutely predictable, consistent and centralised to one game or one entire franchise..... GUILDWARS. Because I lag in GW1 too and GW1 is piggybacking off the same GW2 servers that are hosted on the same amazon AWS servers. I can run any other game = perfectly fine As soon as i load up a guildwars game - lag/micro-lag, network timeouts/disconnects. I reported this to NCsoft support a few years back and i got pushback from the rep who dealt with my ticket saying it was an issue on my end and that my PC was full of viruses/malware or an issue with my ISP if not a dodgy/faulty router - which is technically impossible because it was a FRESH WINDOWS INSTALL and i run a premium anti-virus/firewall software and very tech savvy so im always careful about the links to random places that i get sent or find online. My router which is a netgear nighthawk R7000 has been absolutely rock solid for everything else. Its an uphill battle all the way. Not only are we fighting the players who say there isnt a problem, but we are also fighting the support reps who deny any problem exists and say its all on our end. I gave up. There is no winning - Like most people suffering from the lag issue. Make a post once every so often grumbling about it but just learn to live with it or play a different game. Theres not a whole lot you can do - Its unfortunate but it is what it is.
  3. Another thing that has annoyed me to no end is that I discovered that EMOTES are also gated. There are some emotes you can't use unless you have an expansion that it is linked to. This was NEVER the case in GW1. Emotes shouldn't be locked behind a pay wall
  4. same thing happening with me. Unfortunately running the game as admin didnt fix the problem. Running the game normally causes it to freeze on the loading screen. run as admin causes the game to CTD with the crash/error reporting window popping out. --EDIT-- adding -DX11 as a command line seems to have worked
  5. Oh yeah... that happens all the time. What you are describing is just every day BLTC behaviour. What im talking about in my original post is like that but x1000. you spend over a minute trying to put something up for sale. then you'll spend another minute trying to buy or sell another item because the connection just keeps timing out
  6. I hadnt had such a poor experience for a long time and i was online during the reset yesterday and it was nowhere near a poor experience as it was when i logged in earlier. BLTC always lags and loses connection to the server but its quite consistent being that it doesnt lag for very long with the occasional loss of connection to the server popup only appears once in a while -- I mean, its crap, but at least its not as aggravating enough to putt your fist through your monitor so to speak.
  7. God awfully slow, constantly throws up errors about losing connection to log in servers. It is absolute frustrating to use with the connection constantly timing out and even my buying/selling and sold items not even loading up half the time. This update has pretty much reversed whatever progress that has been made over the last two years to get BLTC to run smoothly after the massive rune update/overhaul and switch to using amazon servers about 4-5years ago which just made using BLTC such a terrible and horrible experience.
  8. Super interesting article. I appreciate your hard work but now i know who to moan at because BLTC is running like crap. 🤣 And it does run like crap... It freezes up every 5-10 seconds and it times out/loses connection to the server CONSTANTLY. Its total crap. But on a more positive side, Its a hell of a lot better than it was a year ago - Literal night and day difference compared to back then but its not quite as smooth as when the game first launched.
  9. Switching didnt work for me. I did this multiple times and even let my personal TP rep time out before summoning another one and repeating this a few times and it was still all greyed out. I could still buy and sell things on the TP though. Just not access anything in the gemstore. It gets stuck occasionally and it comes and goes but in this particular 'session' (shall we say) i waited and waited and waited and i still couldnt click on anything. I mean its not like EA where the game could be absolutely broken but somehow the ingame shop works absolutely fine..... I just left it and logged out. Came back a few hours later and it was working again. Its a real shame that the devs and support teams wont address the lag.
  10. Gem store doesnt work. I cant click on anything, everything is sorta 'greyed out' I waited 5mins and its still stuck. At least if anything at all, the game is consistent. The massive latency spikes doesnt just affect the TP but also the gems store side of things so you cant blame Anet/NcSoft for prioritising the functionality of the gem store over everything else thats not working or breaks constantly. I think this is the second or third time ive encountered this. clicking on items or tabs in gem store does absolutely nothing.
  11. Happens all the time when trading on BLTC. I blame the migration over to Amazon servers that the tech support team have never been ironed out. It started off with the big rune update some 4 years ago and has gotten worse every year. There are a lot of unanswered threads about how laggy the game is dating back to even before Gaile Grey was laid off. I can start doing my trading on BLTC and a lot of trades will have this momentary 'freeze' ranging from a few seconds to a complete time out. When you see that error you posted Its when it means whatever you were interacting with timed out. It could be that Anet are running their servers deliberately over capacity to save money so they struggle to deal with the load. Customer/tech support will respond by doing either one of two things... They tell you they are investigating it (but they dont - they just make you think they are doing something so you shut up about it) They tell you that the problem is on your end and say things that make you think that the problem is being caused by malware infecting your machine Either way, there has never been an official response .
  12. Yeah. you Devs done goofed. Text looks very fuzzy
  13. Is all kinds of messed up. I mean its been all kinds of messed up since the big rune update 3-4years ago but now its especially worse. I go through moments where i cant buy, I cant sell. sometimes BLTC wont even load, it just errors out Many moons ago Gaile said she was looking into it with the team but nothing ever came of it. No update, no follow up. no nothing.
  14. I can confirm. I wasnt banned but i was issued 'warnings' Thanks for the heads up, I was not aware of that type of stance, I really would not like to risk my thousands of hours of playtime.just so frustrating that there is no acknowledgement, I hope Anet take that into consideration if it goes that way. Some people here really like to exaggerate. You will not be banned (or warned) for asking a polite question. Your post was nicer and more useful than a lot of the other posts in the previous hours. Not really. Customer support has been known to be useless on many occasions and that gets players frustrated and angry and when they post about their negative experience their posts/threads get deleted and poster gets a warning. The mod team are very quick about shutting down negative posts/threads directed at them. Of course every interaction starts off as polite but when it starts going around in circles and passing you around to different agents so you end up repeating your issue multiple times and eventually fobbed off, its understandable why people will get angry. Remember the focus assist issue with windows 10 tripping out GW1 when you zoned? I had a new PC, fresh install of windows 10 and a customer support agent didnt have an answer to the same issue many others were having and tried to pass it off as malware on my end. I tried to have some 'friendly discourse' but of course my posts got shut down quickly and i got infractions. So excuse me while i dont share your positive outlook & opinion on some of the hired help around here.
  15. I can confirm. I wasnt banned but i was issued 'warnings' Thanks for the heads up, I was not aware of that type of stance, I really would not like to risk my thousands of hours of playtime.just so frustrating that there is no acknowledgement, I hope Anet take that into consideration if it goes that way.Oh - no they wont ban you from the game. Only forums lol. you can still play the game but you wont be able to criticise them about stuff on the forum. They cant take the game away from you unless you really break ToS or they are mindless enough to bring back the system that flagged half the active players for botting and banned them a few years back.
  16. Lower what settings?? graphical? I dont think it is a graphical issue. Even if it was i would expect a 1080Ti to run the game more than competently and already know its not an issue on my end because other games run perfectly.
  17. Not sure where to post this so i hope this is the correct part of the forum but this game has been extremely laggy for me for an entire month after the previous update. Ive ran all sorts of connection tests, ive restarted routers and access points and the little net performance indicator on the bottom right hand side of the screen (where i place mine) that tells me if my connection is good or bad is always green. I play other games like Warframe and Battlefield 3 & 4 without any sort of issues but with GW1 my characters and other characters be it real players or hench/heroes are just constantly teleporting across the screen like as if im having some sort of connection problems. The indicator light never goes into the red. occasionally it might dip into the orange for a nano second then it flips back to green. Ive spoken to a few people on various discords and they seem to be having the same issue too. I really dont know what could be the problem as my hardware hasnt changed in the last 2-3months and it was running relatively smoothly till one GW1 update. When i delve into GW2 - everything works smoothly apart from BLTC being laggy as hell but thats been like that for over half a year now. So I really dont know what it could be.
  18. Black lion salvage kits should be stackable. I have a storage panels full of the stuff. the lag on BLTC should also be considered a QoL fix at this stage too... Its been around 8 months and the issue still persists.
  19. Bump - Problem still exists - though im starting to believe that this has become a 'standing feature' of the BLTC that wont get fixed. There has never really been an official response apart from gaile or someone saying they were having one of their teams look into it.
  20. My old machine: Asus X79 ProIntel 3930k@4.6Ghz32GB DDR3 2400MhzGTX 970 SLiRegular Sata SSDs Crucial/Samsung etc etc --- I had a decent enough experience. though maxing out all the settings would just make my FPS TANKI later sold off my 970s for a 1070 and got the exact same kind of performance. New machine: Asus ROG Strixx Z370-FIntel 8600k@4.8Ghz16GB DDR4 3200MhzVarious WD, Samsung NvMe SSDs which my games are loaded on.1080Ti --- Game still tanks when everything is turned up. I just think the game is badly optimised and newer expansions being added to the game just made it even more of a mess. I used to karma train down with a load of people at Tarnished Coast some years ago and FPS would drop below 60 and i had to turn shadows to low or view distance to get some performance back. The irony is that even some of the beefiest machines cant run this game smoothly and thats a joke because this game isnt a benchmark. Heres another joke. the rendering engine of this game... If you turn all your graphical settings down. you'll load into LA in less than half of the time you currently do if you had your settings on high/ultra
  21. BLTC seems really bad around this time.... lags every trade, and in one instance even 'froze up' completely for 2mins because it couldnt connect to the server. I see the other thread that was talking about it got deleted, so I assume this one will too because they dont want to hear people bellyaching how bad the experience with BLTC is.
