  1. I'm having fun. mostly. This is such a rushjob tho. Half the things aren't even finished? Here's hoping they've got a LOT planned for skiffs, jadebots and the turtle. Enemies: its all just mostly re-skins of old content? How many new models are in the game for this expansion? One? Two? New elites, I'm only playing mechanist, not going to bother with the rest. Might try harbinger a little. Maps really do feel empty- the complainers were right! I cannot shake the feeling that they've overtuned the metas and some other stuff just to stop people from powering through the content in the first week. Rush job. Stalling for time. So, design question: for an expansion thats tailored for new players- they sure do focus a LOT of it on catering to the nostalgia of veterans from GW1, don't they?
  2. Lets just hope the servers can take the hype. I can't believe its a full work week...
  3. Only a few days to Mechanist. This is going to be fun!
  4. Not sure how Dragon will compare to Marauder/Wurm runes synergy? I'm going to have to toy around with this. If ritualist is as fun as it looks I'll be salvaging my PD trinkets.
  5. How shall we name thee, Connor? Connor the Kitten Killer? Murderer of Meowers? Flayer of Felines? Choker of Chonks? Clubber of Cubs?
  6. Wouldn't a tuesday release make the most sense, seeing as that coincides with the gemstore updates. Anyways, they've promised a february release, and they waited until the last day of january to announce that the release would be at the latest february date possible. The expansion is obviously far from ready. On every single livestream they hide content as best they can, and what they do show still seems full of bugs. A re-scheduling for an earlier release just isn't feasible. They need every single minute of devtime to try and iron out the kinks. That is not to say that what we have seen hasn't been good. The elite specs are a bit lackluster, but the maps look great and they've obviously put a lot of work into the story content. But to be honest, I'm just waiting for them to push back release again.
  7. There seems to be more bugs with all mounts that have the same type of "glow" effect as the hoverbike, typically the exo-suit mounts, the cyberscale etc. The glow effect seems to bug out and turn red, regardless of what dye has been applied. I can't reliably repeat this, it sometimes fixes itself by switching maps or re-logging. But the problem keeps coming up. Example: today zoning into Grothmar Valley my hoverbike appears red regardless of what color I dye it.
  8. Not just you. Its loud. Really loud. ...so shiny tho...
  9. The naming bug seems fixed. Still blocks gathering if you dismount to gather and the mech can't be re-summoned (like on a narrow ledge). If you move around a bit, allowing for the mech to spawn, you can start gathering again. If you dismiss the mech, mount, then dismount, the mech is re-summoned. Spawning into a map without the mech summoned, if you mount, then dismount, the mech dismissal animation will play. Mounting again will summon the mech. The mech still targets random mobs, even neutral ones, near your point of dismount, easily putting you in combat even if you just dismounted to gather. Going into gliding and landing or de-activating the glider will re-summon the mech. It will then target a random nearby mob as described above, putting you in combat. Overclock signet active seems to misfire, at least when firing at a slightly upward angle. The active goes through its full cycle, but stops in mid-air like if you are out of range. This, but I'll have to confirm it for targets below. EDIT: confirmed, good call.
  10. I love the idea of the exo suit. But... Then they'd have to make underwater animations for it. And, well, I think you see my point.
  11. The mech, much like earth elementals, seems to be making gorilla sounds when fighting in melee. Bug or design?
  12. When accepting a prompt to switch maps due to low population, the mech is summoned even if it was not summoned before accepting the prompt.
  13. The player character shouts a lot when the mech is de-summoned or summoned. This gets tiresome when mounted. The sound effect the character makes when the mech is de-summoned or re-summoned from mounting/dismounting tends to play off to the side or from somewhere between where the mech spawns and the character is, rather than from the characters current location. Name change on mech cuts out the last letter of the name, no matter how few/many characters are used. A re-named mech will lose the name change on map change. A re-named mech will lose the name change when de-summoned/re-summoned. Mech will sometimes not be re-summoned on dismount when in a narrow area (such as across the water from Lily of the Elon). In this instance, you will be unable to harvest. Moving anywhere where there is enough space, your mech will re-summon and you can harvest again. Its like every single bug you've ironed out on ranger pets has re-appeared on the mechs. Even so, I'm having so much fun. I was laughing out loud quite a lot whilst playing, its just great!
  14. I found myself laughing out loud a lot whilst playing with the Mechanist. I'd say thats a good sign.
  15. I can't believe you gave the scepter a better shooting sound effect than rifle.
  16. I seem to recall, in the olden days, a weapon that had a good working flow and feel to it. But then it got changed because it was working too well. Oh, I remember now, it was guardian greatsword. I like hammer, but I'd love it if it was made less clunky. Its got great aesthetics.
  17. Although I so far find the bladesworn the most fun spec in this beta event, I'm not feeling the "flow". The best "flow" I've felt was the reaper in HoT, where every skill on GS, the utilities and shroud tied in nicely. Not getting that here. Offhand pistol is great aestetically, but I don't get how it ties in with the available mainhand weapons. Its like wielding two separate weapon sets- I find myself using the mainhand only, or just the pistol and swapping in gunsabre. Speaking of the sabre, not sure what its about. It feels awkward to be locked into a weapon that can't be re-skinned, in a game that is very much about cosmetics. And its not like on the engineer, where the kits are tightly knit into the gameplay. Not at all. I'm really just getting the feeling that lunch is leftovers from yesterday. Pass the ketchup, someone?
  18. Focus offhand, obviously. I'd channel the alchemagical magistry of the legendary inventor, Snaff. Mind games, magic and a massive golem for the elite. There are enough greatsword classes in this game to go around.
