  1. I main thief before it got gutted out nerf after nerf. It started to feel like "why am I playing thief?" gameplay. Switched to Rev and it felt unique back then but now it is also starting to feel like it is losing its identity/uniqueness. I think they should just remove the cd from switching between Alliances and make the skills share cooldown. Tie all 'on legend swap' and alliance swap effect on an icd (9s) Keep the 2 dodges but add an icd to the 3 dodge types to discourage dodge spamming. Maybe make the Vindi dodge normally when in icd. To add flavor, maybe change the dodge animation for each dodge type. Spinning ele animation (i think on water, not sure) for the heal, daredevil bound to the dmg dodge, etc
  2. Can't you just melee with a range weapon? IF this ends up being a ranged weapon, can't you just stand in melee range as it is with other ranged weapon when stacking? I'm just worried that the swords might not generate a lot of LF. It seems they're focus on health utilization instead.

  4. We did this as a pure test in the guild hall arena. No stowing of weapons happened. That works the same with other weapons and OP wrote: "All other weapon main hands do attack in stealth when taunted, but not rifle."Also I'm with @Sir Vincent III.1286 here, getting taunted in stealth was never my problem so w/e. what with it revealing on attack launch rather than hit I mean that's what it's supposed to do and that's what the skill desciption says, so I'm not sure what's the problem here :p Might be related though, who knows. True, its pretty much a balance decision, but it means its coded differently. And well, given that its the outlier, I think we have found the source of this bug. Or maybe not. Who knows, bugs are not exactly rational. Although true that not much taunt happens, when it does happen, it ought to work correctly. In the case of a deadeye, who loves their long-ranged, lots-of-stealth playstyle, a successful enemy taunt should make a deadeye act accordingly. As it stands, a rifle deadeye can still stay in stealth despite getting taunted. However, the taunt still works as a CC, i.e. you lose control unless you stunbreak, but without the revealing shot, that part of the counterplay is null.Agree. I have no 1st hand exp of this but it sounds fair to force the stealth attack with taunt
  5. Have you tried using tricks? I bet it would fit the sharpshooter/gunslinger vibe you are going for. Ps. I play gunslinger too :P
  6. I still run zerkers. Very squishy and can end up as 0 dps if you die fast but I find it fun and challenging.

The bigger “team player” commander should get an extra bonus period, and you should just be grateful that you can hide your lil taggy now. And nothing you bring up will justify a hidden commander earning extra, or the same amount of, pippies. Edit- And your concern for this pip stuff just shows you don’t really care about the community, or their wvw experience either, you only care about your pips. Totally agree -- you got your private tag, be happy. The public commander has to work harder and should get compensated accordingly. Honestly I feel 3 pips is not enough. I understand and agree with introducing private tags. However it has the risk of damaging WvW in general by losing the pugs. If you think WvW will be better with fewer players, you're stoned.This, i can agree. Maybe public tags should get more pips to promote cooperative play for the server community. This way, you get to promote both public and private squads.

  11. Why is there so much argument about this? This has been going on in the game for the longest time squads were added. Anet simply added a ui that made it easier to hide your squad. I understand how most people feel about hidden squads and respect their points. However, this is just a simple ui update. Even the bonus pips, as mentioned by another, are not new.

  13. Also, defensive stats not doing great in pve is not necessarily just because defensive stats are poor. It is the game mode itself. It simply is not challenging enough in general and that is why people mostly play offensive stats. Just look at raids, people playing defense because it is challenging.
  14. With all honesty and sincere respect, this looks to me like a git gud issue. Just to share where i am coming from, i played power classes with soldiers stats before. From soldier i went to berserker, then marauder, and now back to berserker. Why? Because i found, the more i get familiar with the mechanics the more defense i can trade off for power. Active defense is not something you don't invest on. You invest on it with time, practice, and skill build selection. And even with all that you can still fail and lose to other people. So in my opinion, active defense shouldn't really be an argument vs. passive defense. You shouldn't nerf active defense just because passive defense isn't cutting it out for you (no offense).
  15. The weakening comes after "dodge", it affects using a dodge. Not abilities that have evade (If we are to assume the wording they used is accurate). Overall I do like the intent with the changes. Though I dread having to take the stairs on Forest of Niflhel. Ahh makes better sense if it is really a dodge effect. Imagine it would be too broken if it was on evade.
  16. So what happens when DS triggers an evade? Do the daggers apply weakness on foes every after evade? I think we need to see how the new swipe will be with existing steal traits such as mug. Might end up as a nice skirm finisher along with DD elite Edit* or maybe it may work as a short port -> combo with all the physical skills going on with the DD
