  1. Meh, if that's how you feel. As for me, I shall continue to blow up all those unsuspecting attackers with my static shield.
  2. It is so good that P/S can now be used as a power weapon. So.... yea...
  3. Disagree wholeheartedly, but to each his own. Take Explosives, Take Flashbang , take Tools, take Take Adrenal Implant then when using FT auto attack, dodge occasionally to proc Flashbang and you're golden. It literally makes any build that uses a lot of CC quite OP. The only CC that doesn't work with it is Turret CC. Your Auto-attacks can literally take 15% of health in 1-hit because of Explosive Entrance and Bunker Down. If you think that's not OP, I guess you must be playing PvE or something.
  4. It's their game. They can do whatever they envision for the game. Our role in this is to complain if the vision they bring to fruition is not enjoyable. And, all things considered, it is actually pretty enjoyable.
  5. I actually use Dolyak relic. You can do whatever you like.
  6. The AED synergy has worked wonders for me. The 120s cooldown is the same cooldown as an Elite skill and do we complain about that? Nope. I've literally won 2v1s because of that one trait so.... your opinion is your opinion sir. As for Bunker Down, the current bunker down only works on professions that get up close to you. The upcoming change, will make it a guaranteed hit on your target. That is a 100% chance to hit. The current Bunker Down doesn't have that. Literally, you can CC a person once every second and know that Bunker down will hit EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. And it got a damage boost. Yes, you may not have realized it yet, but it is indeed a monster that is about to be unleashed. In case you're wondering what build can do a CC every second: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?PeQAUlJw2YMsFWJOsPmrdA-D6IeGZLBCZBYrnAAA

  8. You have to remember that Bow isn't affected by Projectile Hate which Mortar is. And personally, I find the CDs on Hammer much more of a pain than the CDs on Bow. Not to mention, Bow has more AoE CC (Blind, Aegis, Stun and Chain reaction daze) than Hammer does which is what actually wins fights in PvP more often than not.
  9. Automated Medical Response: This trait has been reworked. Grant regeneration to nearby allies when you use your healing skill's toolbelt skill. Mecha Legs: This trait has been reworked. Gain resistance on dodging. Bunker Down: This trait now triggers when disabling an enemy instead of when critically striking. The mine now spawns at the enemy's location instead of near the player. Reduced the internal cooldown from 4 seconds to 1 second. Increased the mine power coefficient from 0.77 to 0.95. The bandage now cleanses a condition, and its base healing has been increased from 502 to 598. The change to AutoMR is just criminal. My AED build just became dead in the water. Thanks Anet. I guess its Automated Bomb Dispenser for me. Mecha Legs is nice As for Bunker Down.... .....I don't think you know the monster that you are about to unleash.
  10. Tips for playing PvP: - AoE CC and AoE damage wins games. So make an AoE build if you find yourself losing too much. - The Wars Utility is getting Rezzes and Stomps with Banner. You can literally change the match with one Elite Banner stomp when 3 of your teammates are down and one of theirs is down. Literally a game winning ability. Err... that's all for now.
  11. The Shortbow is a Control weapon. Once I figured out what the fields were, what the combos did and when to use it against my opponents, it became a viable option beyond what people seem to be recognizing. It's a game of sacrificing one combo benefit for another combo benefit and that's makes for good gameplay and good trade-offs in the middle of the fight. Sacrifice 1 extra chain stun to get an extra blind, sacrifice your blast finisher to get more might stacks from your chain reaction, etc. So far this is the build I've been using: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PeQAUlJw2YMsFWJOsPmrdA-D6IeGZLBCZBYrnAAA And yes, it is Core Engie... what people call the weakest Spec.... And I've been having good success with it. I also like the Scrapper set-up though: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PeQAUlJw2YMsGWJOuPmNVA-D6IeGZLBCZBYrvAAA I would have preffered that the Bow kept its damage overtime AOE's because that would have made it amazing for downstate cleave but if you guys don't change it to do that it wouldn't be the end of the world.
  12. Anyone who thinks Shortbow is weak in PvP doesn't yet understand what PvP is all about. CC rules in PvP (AoE CC especially) and shortbow brings it in spades: Blinds, chain stuns, the aegis, even if it is one aegis, it can still be annoying to that person you see charging up their 1-shot attack only for it to hit an aegis. The amount of times the arrow lands right after I am CC'ed only for the person attacking to hit the aegis instead of finishing me off is uncountable. I particularly designed my engie build to use what people consider to be the weakest utilities turrets (Rocket & Thumper) and Gadgets (AED & throw mine). The build works with any spec, even core Engie. But the most hilarious set-up that messes with your opponent the most is the Scrapper set-up, 25 stacks of might, infinite fury, infinite protection, Could also get infinite swiftness as well, Supply Crate can give you a good supply of regen, so much barrier.... Literally no one can tell me Shortbow is weak. Been dunking on everything thus far as long as i play with my brain.
  13. Hmm... I have a different perspective to him in that I can be defensive and offensive with Rifle. During the Soul Beast heyday, the Rifle BladeSw was one of the builds that could actually make the good ones sweat. The bad ones just get wrecked. But you know, I wouldn't mind more healing on that build though hehehehehehe
  14. Step 1: Relic of the Demon Queen Step 2: CC everybody Step 3: Play decent Step 4: ????? Step 5: Profit
  15. From what I've gathered, Shortbow is a set-up weapon and most people aren't used to it. What one can do is: Throw Shortbow #5 down, Toolkit Magnet pull into it, detonate SB#5, fire other SB skills into the field and if playing Holo, you spank them with Holoforge skills, if playing Mech, you unload on them with your Mech skills and chain stun them to death with additional CC skills, or if playing Scrapper, they are either already dead from your Gyros or they will be in a moment. I feel it may be a L2P issue for all of us. My advice to the devs working on Bow is, buff the damage by 20% and i think it would be golden.... at least for people like me....

  17. Considering I played both Hammer and Rifle quite extensively and was giving both Signet Mesmers and pre-nerf and post-nerf SoBe Rangers a hard time with both weapons, and I was climbing so fast I got into Platinum like instantly, I would say the only reason why people don't play it is because of the general thinking of people. I've been part of this community for years. They really never try anything new or think anything is meta until a big name pvp player uses it in a pvp match and wins with it. I remember when Support Chrono was ruling PvP. The one counter to them was Corrupt Necro. Particular Core Necro. But did anyone play it? Not really. Most people thought Core Necro was weak. I used it to get to Legend in that same meta. People don't play what's strong. They play what's popular.
  18. Rifle BsW is actually pretty good and so is hammer. The only thing hammer lacks is DPS for 1v1s but in a team fight, it's actually quite the pain. Rifle BsW can take on literally any class and can win if you know what you're doing. Haven't tried GS because I was never good at GS. Dagger, I've heard from a theorycrafter, it is actually really nice because when paired with Shield its one daze or stun after the other. Never tried mace on either hand. I tried torch and its actually a good laugh to be a burning BsW.
  19. To be fair, Elixir R feels like it should be a stun break. PBR on the other hand, doesn't. For changes to PBR to make it useful in PvP? Make it hit at least 3 people and give might per target hit, and make the toolbelt have an Ammo system with 3 shots available on a 2s CD between shots and 15s CD overall. Elixir R just needs to do more than give dodge bar to be useful. Toss Elixir R causes fear for 2s to enemies in a 360 radius whilst also rezzing people. Drink Elixir R gives you endurance, Superspeed and stability and breaks stun. (Why break all these buffs? Well if you're going to rez someone you want to not only be able to throw the Elixir, but you also want to be able to get to them to double rez them, and then have the stability to not get stunned whilst you rez them)
  20. If the solution is always "make it a stun break" then you've lost me.
  21. That's not what I was asking for. What I was asking for is to be able to use 3 core trait lines and still be able to be Holosmith or 3 Core trait lines and still be able to be a Mechanist.
  22. The cast is long but with all the CC in our arsenal we can set it up. I was neglecting to use it for a long time then I remembered how powerful it can be (it's just as powerful as a grenade barrage) so I started to use it in my combos and yeah, let's just say people couldn't stay standing. I wish the toolbelt mines still ripped boons as in the old days though. That was useful.
  23. Since I've been playing with it for weeks and weeks on end. I can tell you those 30s feel like 5 especially because you can throw them out and the cooldown starts without the mines being triggered. So if someone trips the ones you threw out, you can instantly throw another one.
  24. As some of you forum-lurkers know, I have been playing this build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PeQAQlJw2YMsFWJOsOmrcA-D6IeGZKBCZBIvzAAA and I can say that one of the most powerful abilities in that set-up is Throw mine (just ask the Thief that felt bullied by stepping into it 4 times 🤣). Apart from the fact that it stuns your opponents, it also rips 3 boons (6 if you do it point blank on someone with the gm trait in tools ) and that alone enables this build to go toe-to-toe against eles. Then it's unblockability makes it a pain for Guards and block spam wars to deal with and not to mention its always fun to watch someone come running at you whilst about to activate an ability only to suddenly stop in their tracks. It's just an all round brilliant ability. Wouldn't change it in any way unless they want to give it alacrity or something then please go ahead hahaha!
  25. Might work better with Scrapper actually. AED + Lyhr and Bulwark Gyro alternating.
