  1. This. Same few things, over and over and over. Activity. Dodge 3 times. Combo moves. Look, I love getting easy AA, but things that would make the maps busier here and there, at least for a short time, would be way more fun. Edited to add: How about dungeons? They're dead, and if they were a daily more often, it would help players acquire dungeon-specific items, achievements, etc.
  2. Can I do the Rift Hunting? Of course. But does anyone find it engrossing content after the first few? They are SO dull, nothing but the same thing over and over and over. No variation. "Grind" doesn't even come close to how boring it is. I love the varied collections and tasks in SotO, wish there were new or altered ones that would award the Essences we need. I certainly don't mind putting in the time -- that's why I've played GW since beta of the first game -- but don't want to be bored out of my gourd while I'm doing it.
  3. I thought ANet learned its lesson with how much people disliked the Strike Mission requirement for the Turtle mount unlock in EoD. I have tried Strikes and hate them; forcing me to do them makes me hate them even more. We can't get the Jotun Skypiercer without it and therefore can't get the Honorary Astral Ward achievement either. I have physical hand issues and get yelled at enough in Fractals, never mind Strikes. Face it, ANet, forcing cascading achievements dependent on doing something that so many people hate is very poor PR.
  4. Please don't give up on Nevermore. Yes, it's a ton of work/harvesting/collection, but it's a great LW. I'm an absolute LW hog and have crafted six from scratch over the years, plus a couple more where I bought the precursor and crafted the rest. In the current Legendary Starter Kit, I already have Meteorlogicus, The Bifrost, and Bolt, love them too. But really, Quip? QUIP? The annoying toy pop gun? Sigh... I may get the kit and use the Gift of Might or Gift of Magic on another LW that I'm almost done crafting. Wish we could sell the precursor but will take what I can get.
  5. Great point. It's just an extra step. I thought they'd take away the TWO extra steps you have to do when getting a Mastery Point -- you know, you commune with the place of power and that should give you the MP. But no, you have to click on the little shiny icon, then click AGAIN on "OK." Not a big deal, but really ridiculous.
  6. So far I like the new map. Certainly a wide variety of terrain etc. I'm so-so on the new rewards system, would REALLY like more choices to pick from for dailies though. And silly me, I thought by "improved rewards" that it at least meant in part that we'd stop getting trash loot. Actual trash. Nope, still getting broken lockpicks, porous bones, blah blah blah. Tell me true, does anyone enjoy getting literal GARBAGE as so-called loot?
  7. While of course I am certainly not even close to having the 1000 Astral Acclaim for one of these, I'm wondering how often they'll be rotated. The blog post only said "in the future" and that ANet will watch feedback and usage. Well, of the four currently available, I already have three of them, and the fourth (the toy popgun Quip) does not interest me in the least. Plus, they're all Gen 1 Legendaries; will you also have Gen 2s soon? Thanks.
  8. I have used the nVidia Control Panel to check my options, I have tweaked postprocessing (off) and gamma (turned down) in GW2's options. Problems remain -- colors are insanely oversaturated, and fonts are all jagged with some very faint/thin and others bold/thick. It's headache-inducing, it's a literal pain. I can hardly play. And I play tons of other games, none of which have these problems. Please oh please has someone found a real solution? Thanks to those who have tried to help.
  9. Ditto. I have mostly lost the urge to play since this oversaturated color and fuzzy font look showed up. I've been a GW2 player since beta and played the first GW also since its beginning. Don't even want to think how much I've spent on gems over the years. Unfortunately, I guess, I already preordered SotO, but unless things are fixed that may be the last money ANet gets from me.
  10. Could you be more specific? There are several Windows settings that come up when I Google the problem. My fonts in GW2 look crappy since the switch to DX11. Thanks.
  11. I'm sorry you are feeling sick from the graphics too. I did find something that helps a tiny bit -- I have an Nvidia card, and I can go into the Nvidia Control Panel (NCP) and turn down color saturation. But that doesn't help with the blurry fonts, plus it makes every other game and application look bad, so if I want to play GW2 I'll have to go back and forth every day with the NCP. Far from ideal.
  12. So, following your announcement of discontinuing support for-dx9, how do you suggest we deal with the DX11 issues that so many people are reporting of extremely oversaturated colors, blurry fonts, etc.? I have turned off postprocessing, turned down gamma, adjusted shaders -- does not help. The colors are so extreme that they make me nauseous. I play MANY computer games and GW2 is the only one with this issue. If there's no fix (a new graphics card or a new rig is not in my budget), I will have to stop playing. You knew this was an issue back in April when the same thing happened yet we could use the -dx9 command line.
  13. Same. As I already said, changing shaders, postprocessing, and gamma does not change the situation. Colors are oversaturated to the point of retina burning (sarcasm, but it is bad enough to give me an immediate headache). Hopefully there will be a fix.
  14. Judging from the many posts from other players with the exact same issues, I'm sure they understand perfectly what I'm seeing without screenshots.
  15. It's more than just "not looking good." The colors are so hypersaturated that the game gives me a literal headache and hurts my eyes. I've turned off postprocessing, turned down the gamma, and tweaked other settings but if this continues I basically won't be able to play, or at least not for more than a few minutes at a time. A shame, since I've supported the game since the early days of GW1 and buy gems whenever I can, plus preordered SotO. I get that most people don't have these issues, but enough of us do that it's a real issue, and more than just cosmetic.
  16. I also have the problem of blurry fonts and extremely saturated colors, to the point that they hurt my eyes. It's only GW2, not any other games. I know about turning off postprocessing in the graphics options, which helps a little but not much. Please help!
  17. It's crashing for me too. I basically cannot play GW2 if it's going to force DX11 on me -- the colors are too bright and saturated no matter what I do, and it hurts my eyes.
  18. They're the SotO equivalent of the Flame Serpent weapon skin choice you got from preordering EoD. The Flame Serpent weapons quickly became "a dime a dozen," and these new ones impress me (or not) similarly. Very underwhelming, but they are not the reason I preordered. Shrug.
  19. Please let us move the Level 80 boost (from preordering SotO) from the Shared Inventory Slot to the Bank. I don't want to use it until the new expansion comes out and want the slot for something else. Thank you!
  20. It's not just you. I loved HoT and PoF, was initially bored by EoD. Played for a bit and then took a break for months -- boring story (Waaaaay too much exposition and tweener-vibe "let's talk about our feelings" conversations that went on and on. And on. And on.), trash mobs & loot, too much lime green everywhere (jade comes in many colors, not just green). I came back after my break, but didn't get the Siege Turtle until they removed the Strike requirements, because I hate PvP and Strikes and will not be forced to play them. Made one Gen 3 Legendary Weapon just to see what it was like, also got one special skin for it, also to see what that process was like, but I'm not going to craft or buy any more Gen 3s. They're all too same-y. Research Notes were the most idiotic form of currency I've ever seen. Fishing is every bit as boring as it is in any other game although I do like completing collections. Look, I love GW2. Been playing GW since the beta/release of the first game. I've already preordered SotO and I'm really glad we're going back to core Tyria! Probably once it's out I'll rarely go to Cantha.
  21. Y'all make good points. So... can I ask for better loot then? I don't understand why we get trash in loot boxes and bags. Literal garbage. Is that supposed to be fun? Funny? ETA: Maybe they could combine some old currencies, like they did with all the various dungeon currencies into Tales of Dungeon Delving.
  22. Of course I realize things are already done, but please oh please I hope there are no new currencies because I think there are too many already. Let's see... I need 10K Volatile Magic for this gizmo... oops, my bad, it was Unbound Magic, and so on and so on. Please go back to basic Tyrian currencies, and for the love of The Six, nothing even remotely resembling Research Notes!!!
  23. I got my Skyscale as soon as I could when it was first released, although I found the acquisition a pain. Just because I suffered through it doesn't mean everyone should, and I'm fine with a different path for new players or for players who just didn't want to go that route. I know how it feels -- I hated the Siege Turtle original acquisition and refused to do it until they changed a couple of things. My enjoyment of the Skyscale -- which I've happily used for, what?, years now -- is in no way dependent on how many other players get it or how they get it.
  24. Better yet, make these new boxes worth opening. They're near-garbage.
