illusion of life is actually really strong in wvw. Useless mesmer skills would probably be signet of inspiration (unless traited) and phantasmal defender, those two don't really do anything on their own

Well yeah, you're still being as dishonest, I never said you can't trait your stealth attack, yet you're trying to make it sound like it's my argument (when what I said wasn't even close to that). Turns out when i say "instant skills have weaker effects than non instant skill, the fact that you can trait them to make them stronger does not make that fact go away" and you replay with "wow so you just said you can't trait stealth attack", yes, I would call that intellectual dishonesty, crazy me. When almost any stealth last at least 3 seconds, you can absolutely wait another second to try again, especially when considering how short those cast times are. Also you'll notice nowhere in my previous messages I've said it was op or something like that. I don't think the good player don't do that is a good argument when I'm saying it's toxic. Maybe it's just mediocre player doing it, i don't know, and i don't usually die to it, but it is still a very unhealthy gameplay, especially considering the counterplay to it is just "play some classes and not others". If you're a mesmer (power mirages or virtuosos being the ones most countered by this) player you have no tools against this gameplay, while an engineer has no way of losing to this kind of builds, unless maybe if he's a core engi but who plays that? I'm not opposed to certain classes being stronger and weaker against some others but shutting them down almost completely I do not think that's healthy for the game. And how are you supposed to punish a thief prolonging his stealth when you can't see it ?

lmao despite the thread being two years old you're still being as intellectually dishonest as you were at the start. All those skills do not do much on their own, unlike a lot of non instant skills. Of course if you take 4 different traits to buff them they're gonna be as strong as non instant skills. The trade off would just have changed from the skill being weaker to you having to dedicate almost an entire traitline to one skill. And the comparison with the actual topic at hand doesn't work for more than just this reason. Yes, if you dodge an attack coming from stealth you do not take the damage. But the person attacking you can just do it again and then you don't have a dodge left. Especially thief considering it doesn't have cooldowns (and yes, a 1s cooldown on your stealth attack isn't a real cooldown). Sometimes the thief will almost run out of stealth and will have to take time to lengthen his remaining stealth after you dodge but we do not have his stealth timer and have no idea what he's doing. So guess we just have to dodge randomly again and be really lucky. And for what, just so the thief prolongs his stealth one more ? Nah really, it's not toxic design and just not taking the damage is sufficient trade off lol

why are we treating instant cast skills the same as skills casted in stealth when the trade off for instant cast skills is already there in that they tend to be way weaker than most other skills. Tho i'd agree that the whole stealth thing is not that much of a problem in pvp, but it is in wvw

isn't burn guardian really strong when it comes to destroying siege ?

let's hope they don't since it's the only thing making the inspiration branch worth taking in pvp

it's not op it's just easy to play, but if the enemy team understand how to play against a virtuoso (which is really not hard) ur gonna be useless

Most condi virtuoso will not take the aegis trait, and a 20s cd is not thaaat low when the condi damage of every other ability you have is subpar

I might be mistaken but I believe warhorn would be better than offhand dagger for dps when it comes to fresh air tempest

maybe a two step anchoring, then, the first step being dropping the anchor which makes the boat slow down significantly (more than just pressing the s key), and the second being getting up from your seat when your boat is at an halt, spawning the collision hitbox then. I think people mostly want slowing down the skiff to be less bothersome, not necessarily being able to stop it instantly. But if they ever do a change like that I hope they make it possible aswell to use the anchor to negociate a sharp turn (like in sea of thieves) instead of only being able to use it to stop. It would make skiff races something possible and fun to do (especially with the skiff speed boost jade chip)

Tbh adding unblockable on its elite and on that grandmaster trait really helped virtuoso in wvw zergs. But i do agree that those two things (especially the first one) shouldn't have changed

Couldn't they like just change the buff it gets when traited instead of nerfing the untraited version to the ground if they really wanted to just decrease the target cap?

Hi ! About 9 years ago, i created this account using an email whose website closed for quite some time now. Being quite lazy, and not sure how to go about it, i didn't try to update my email. I also had a two step verifications (so with a phone number), but i had to change number last summer as my phone was stolen and i did not update that aswell. So anytime i was trying to connect to gw2 from another ip address, i just couldn't log into that account. 1 or 2 weeks ago, I decided to finally send a support ticket asking to update my account's mail and phone number to my actual mail and phone number. I completely forgot that i add an alt account linked to my "new" mail (thosmoser.4253). Anyway, fastforwarding to today, i just cannot login at all anymore to my main account, even using an ip address that was already registered, and I did not receive an email from the arenanet support so i'm not sure if this has to do with them or not. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this or on what i should do next ? Thanks for reading

only place it wasn't weak was in zerg against ennemies so bad they had no idea how to use reflects. Going from any other mesmer spec to Virtuoso you'd lose survavibility, damage and reliability and decent distant aoe damage could only work a few team comps or against people who are not good at the game, and even then sicne it doesn't have clones the other mesmer specs were better at stomping noobs anyway. At some point you need a reason to pick Virtuoso cuz at that point there were none. Also don't try arguing it's only this way because mesmer specs are so good they're overshadowing virtuoso, they're at best mid tier

Unless you're playing pve, the sigil is not going to fully reset your block. Also they need a specific weapon for that, you can pick up off hand sword or scepter if you want blocks on virtuoso. And the block on f4 is only a 30s cd for a 3s duration from what we've seen so it blocks as much as the chrono's shield (and chrono does not have a utility spell granting 3s of distorsion, unlike the virtuoso)
