  1. I've never been angry about any ele nerfs, but I'm angry about this one. You're removing our ability to build might stacks for what? Just for group content? Because raids are all that matter? Have you actually thought about what it feels like for people who play by themselves and don't really do raids? Do you think all eles just camp fire unless they're in raids???? It already takes effort to build up a decent might stack without doing prestacking, and now we don't even get to keep it? For what??? What did it hurt? Who did it hurt???? I'm not even asking that we should be able to build and keep 25 stacks effortlessly, but you LITERALLY MADE THE ONLY DAMAGE COEFFICIENT TRAIT IN FIRE REQUIRE 10 MIGHT STACKS. And that's the exact amount you remove. The hell? Are we all supposed to run around with a friend to keep our might up now?? What the hell? Why did you think this was a good idea??? Suppose we get do the work to build up might stacks, now we're supposed to avoid attuning to any other elements or lose them???? Or hey, we build might stacks using arcane trait, OOPS we attuned to fire, oh damn we're going to lose them all. How does that even work??? Do the only ele players in your balance team camp fire?????? What the HELL. I'm angry about your balance team like I've never been before. I've never complained about balance changes. I want to be positive to you and I've always thought you got more shit than you deserve. But this is like....it's not just a nerf to one or two skills. It's not a nerf to damage overperformance. It's a nerf to the whole playstyle of the class, the constant elemental attunement change, the one thing that made it the best caster class I've ever played. For no reason. It's not as if ele is a mainstay of any game mode atm, it's pretty niche. There's no reason. What the hell, Anet.
  2. A lot of people are still testing their builds. My guild has been discussing going condi but that's in the stages of testing, and in the meantime we're running with whatever our guildies already know and trying to wring more performance out of them. Give it a bit more time before you start going 'see, the meta hasn't changed after all'. (I'm NA, btw.)
  3. I do think WvW NPCs should be nerfed, but not because of camp. I can still take camps just fine. No, it's lords with Iron Hide/Iron Guards on, which is what everyone slots now. It's just TEDIOUS taking those down at the moment, and takes way too long. (Before anyone says 'bring Burn DHs'-----Anet supposedly wants to encourage build diversity.) Either nerf WvW NPCs, or nerf that tactic.
  4. I have to agree with some of this and want an answer too, or at least want them to read this. The Commander's arc is really great, but there were too many missing moments in that regard, especially about the Commander's death. (Kas' reaction and Rytlock's reaction was nice, but come on, Taimi??? Taimi loves the Commander!) This is especially egregious in episode 4, sans the Braham moments, which made it my least favourite episode in the whole thing DESPITE ME LOVING EVERY BIT OF THE BRAHAM MOMENTS. (Yes, even if you threw a bone to us Trahearne shippers out there in that episode!) When the Commander asked Caithe what it felt like to be bonded to Aurene, it felt a little bit.....sad for them, the voice acting made it feel like they're so starved to have that connection with her after not being sure for the entire season lol. It made the ending incredible when they finally realize she truly loves them only for her to ascend.....I'd like to think that that is very intentional and you're going to explore it more in the future!
  5. Disclaimer: we have no current plans to revisit Scarlet’s character. That stated, I think if we ever had the opportunity to rebuild portions of Season 1 we’d take a look at Scarlet’s characterization and try to find ways to align her more with her posthumous portrayal in Season 2 (while also using a similar approach to what we did with Trahearne with the Personal Story Restoration). We’d consider rewriting some of her dialogue and perhaps make some adjustments to how and when she appeared in content, and try to do a better job with her introduction, showing her downfall, etc. Tara was great to work with and I think, if given the opportunity, she could help us realize that character’s full potential. So, yeah. We’ve learned a lot since Season 1. ? Mr. Stein, sir, please allow me to say this. I WOULD PAY FULL EXPAC PRICE FOR LS1 REMAKE/REIMAGINATION. MAYBE THE MARKET IS SMALL, BUT YOU'VE GOT MY AXE. As someone who got tired and frustrated playing through the slow bits at the time LS1 was live, the whole story itself was good and would benefit the whole game if it's back in a more distilled form. I'm trying to rope in some new players and, if they are the story type, getting them over the hurdle that is the LS1 gap is difficult. At least it'd be nice if the in-game cinematic recap tells us more about how the DW met the Commander! (The bits introducing the characters in the LS itself were fine! I'd love to see them again if it's on any table in any timeline!)
  6. First, I have to say that I'm one of those maybe 3 people on the internet who really, really love the Commander's character and what you've been doing with it. Even if it could be smokes and mirrors and you intend for us to see them as blank slates, what I perceive to be their personality (disconnected from the personality I had for 'my mc' at the onset) and their character development arc combine to make one of the most engaging main characters I've seen in RPGs, singleplayer or no. They have such realistic flaws. Realistic despair. Whatever it is that you're doing on sculpting them as a character, it's working for me and my friends! I commented mostly just to say that to you lol. But are there a few questions! 1) On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being skale and 10 being Kralkatorrik, how much fun did you have writing Joko's.....questionable dialogues and did Mr. North laugh when he read them the first time?2) In The Departing (PoF) there's this Norn/human couple who state that they're staying there together because if they go into the Mists, they have to separate to different afterlife realms according to their religions. Yet, in LS4, we see Eir and Snaff appearing together. How do the Mists work in this regard? Did the couple misunderstand the issue, did things change after the human gods left, or were Eir and Snaff a special case?3) Speaking of that couple: nearly all the interracial couples and interracial attractions I've seen in the game are Norn/something. Will we ever see the consummation of Rytlock/Logan B)4) The environmental storytelling for Joko's reign was one of the best things about PoF and early LS4. It was truly oppressive and horrifying in how insidious it is, but it IS insidious enough that it appears many people did not understand just how much Joko's rule has warped Elona (I recall some talking that he was OOC in Twilight Oasis because he's too funny and incompetent to do that, but.....when you look at his realm, ahhhh). If you could go back in time and redo that again, would you have decided to make things more clear-cut and put more of it in the main story of PoF itself, instead of focusing everything on Balthazar?5) Speaking of turning back time: I recall some of the staff saying that you didn't anticipate that players would be so affected by Aurene's death and want to see their characters mourn her. If you can go back in time and give the Commander a chance to mourn, what would you have written to show the Commander's grief over her loss in a lengthier way than what we got in LS4-6? Or would you not have changed anything? (In a separate paragraph because this isn't a question.....this was probably the only gripe I had with the episode. Actually, this is probably one of the weaker points for the story overall. The Commander's life is studded with important losses, from their mentor to Trahearne to Eir to Aurene......but the only ones we got to see them having a real reaction for are Aurene and Blish, the latter they only knew for a short while and mostly as Taimi's friend/potential boyfriend. The rest we had to infer. I do think you did very well to give us clues about many of their feelings----the shellshockedness over Vlast, for example, but there are so few direct reactions to death, even if you take in consideration the Commander being generally stoic. Heck, there are few reactions to the Commander's death. I don't think dramatic deaths ala other MMOs are a good fit for GW2, but I'd love it if you can trust us players a little bit more and let the characters react to the devastation around them.) 6) I know you pretty much figure out the details of each arc as you get there, but how long did you have the broad strokes of the story set in place? Some character arcs finished while dovetailing nicely with what you did going back as far as LS1. (Braham, mostly.) Did you simply go back to examine what you wrote there, or did you already have an idea of where you needed to go with the characters arcs and just needed to figure out how to get there?7) Lastly, the Commander's journal tends to be wildly at odds with the tone of the episode itself. Is that just them being cheeky and/or having a habit of writing everything in grocery list format and not recording any of their feelings/epicness of the thing, or was that convention so players can go back and look at quest details quickly and just get the meat of what happened? Thank you so much for the great story over the years! It had its weak spots, but I greatly enjoyed it and am really, really looking forward to the next installment! There are so many other questions I'd like to ask, but they'd probably fall into 'asking for spoilers' territory so.......that's all I can think of right now. Thank you reading lengthy post!
  7. Is there a way to reach you guys in Anet in terms of fan letters? Sometimes (a lot of times) I just want to gush at the nice things you did and let you know you're appreciated, but not to share the gushings with the community since....well, sometimes you just want to gush and not have yahoos agreeing or disagreeing with you. So......fan letters. I guess there's the forum private messaging, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to private message the devs. Is there some sort of PR filter person I can send such a thing to?
