Thanks Healix.5819 for the suggestion on renaming the .tmp file - I tried this and had partial success, the launcher started up again then stopped. So I'm back to the issue of relaunching multiple times until eventually it works. I can now log into the game again. I have updated my support ticket with this information as well. -

Same issue, played the first part of Cantha yesterday without issues. Today trouble launching the game & now my computer tells me it isn't a game that can be played on my computer. ("computer says no"). Have raised a ticket and trying to resolve with Anet. -
Launcher doesn't work properly after the new build

I'm having similar issues. Since the Halloween update the game doesn't launcher doesn't. I use trend & have GW2 in the exception list. Initially I restarted my computer, then magically everything worked as normal. Same thing happened yesterday, although it took a few attempts before the launcher worked. Today, same thing except I haven't yet managed to get the launcher to work. Appreciate if this could be looked at asap! -
same issue as mentioned numerous times above - game won't load just pops up then closes immediately. Have tried the fixes mentioned above including disabling Trend but no change. Do not have 3rd party programs.

Same thing happened to me 2 days ago while helping a friend with her story, I was kicked from the instance in the gliding part. She fortunately was able to complete it but took a while to solo.
