  1. I have nothing selected in the Wizard Vault UI and I do have things selected in the achievements panel. However, the tracker on the right of the screen is showing daily Wizard Vault objectives. It didn't work like this when WV was released but now seems to have some problems. I like the watchlist, but if the watchlist doesn't show up on the right UI tracker, it's a bad experience.
  2. The sort preference for the achievement panel is no longer saved between log-ins. e.g. For Watch List, I set the order to "Custom" and when I logout/in, it's back to tier completion. I have played with different panels on sort orders other than tier completion since launch permanently and suddenly this preference is no longer saved. This is especially obnoxious for the watch list since newly added achievements I add daily don't show up at the top of the list.
  3. I don't understand why people are so confused over the pricing model they outlined - This game (other than the F2P core game) has always been Buy To Play. It's going to continue being that way, just with a more regular schedule. People also seem to be obsessed with language, expansion vs DLC, LW vs quarterly release. Anet is going to make you pay money to access stuff they release. Wait and see, if you dont like what they release, dont buy it. If that doesn't keep you around, great. There are a lot of games out there. And if it's really the price of the content you are worried about, play less, get a better job for a while, then come buy the stuff if it still interests you.

  7. Leaving your character AFK to farm mobs is against TOS (terms of service) so you probably dont want to optimize for doing this.
  8. Ugh why do we have to explain on repeat why this is a bad argument? Choosing to do something else because you make an assumption about the long lived nature of AP isn't ignoring them. These are literally the only AP to be removed from the game since 2016 when they removed PvP season title achievements exclusive to each season. Nothing else has been removed. They also weren't fast because they had a kitten design where if you deleted the armor without equipping it, the drop chance for another armor was drastically reduced.
  9. Like in season 1? This applies to everyone in the game - nobody on the AP leaderboard has all achievements. You are making a flawed argument which is "Just because they did X before, it's fine they keep doing it." It's always sucked when they remove AP - just cuz you were a "victim" of this doesn't meant you shouldn't give a kitten when it happens again. And if you don't give a kitten, great, that doesn't mean others should agree with you. According to your kids, yes you did lie. And while it's unlikely your kids are going to go find new parents, customers can easily find new companies to do business with.
  10. If they deleted the turtle mount, although never explicitly stating it was a permanent feature, do you think Anet lied? All the EOD advertising says is that players can unlock a turtle mount, never that it's permanent unlock. Am I trolling? Sure, but the point is anet shouldn't have to state something is permanent if the MO has been permanent AP since like 2016 or so? It's very reasonable that any player would think any new AP would become permanent. You can call it lying or misleading or whatever - I don't really care how it's labeled. But it is extremely counter to a good customer experience and a game environment where you can jump in and not feel like you will never catch up. The other odd aspect of this is that it really doesn't cost Anet much to leave the old system in some kind of "legacy section" of the achievements. Also, please dont push your assumptions about how people earn AP onto the entire player base - if you were right, there would be no uproar over this. As there is an uproar, you are clearly wrong. QED
  11. Well, yes and all the retired achievements are a black stain on the game. I admire that they have tried to revive some of them like Marionette and the re-release of season 1, but they definitely shouldn't be adding to the list of retired stuff now that they know better and have demonstrated it by specifically bringing back old season 1 AP progress vs just adding a new set. A player that starts today should be able to reach the highest AP that anyone has who has been playing since launch - I know there are many achievements that currently prevent this, but let's keep improving instead of taking steps backwards.
  12. Most people who hunt AP have paid the 1000g for 5AP in ember bay - "Contract of Patronage" so, yeah missing 10 AP is extremely painful.
  13. I like the new adventure guide so far from what I have seen and I am glad it's in the game, but why did you remove the old tutorial and the associated AP access? It's very frustrating to have AP removed and made forever inaccessible to newer players or players that prioritized doing other things. Why not just add it back or list it as an older tutorial system? I want my equal access to AP.

Not sure why people think there is goign to be an update on this today or anytime this week - they probably haven't even had the meeting to discuss the actual balance changes being rolled out yet. They are also probably waiting to collect metrics on what gets played and how the traits perform.
  15. Should the title be a timestamp of when you got it - so that everyone that did it before you can similarly claim they did it before the power creep of xpacs etc? Somone that kills VG on their second pull with emboldened could have "done more" than someone who just lied there dead after paying the group for the kill. I don't disagree there are different levels of effort and "achievement" but whether or not someone did it with/without emboldened is not going to tell the story you are looking for.
  16. Seems right - HoT launched without access to ascended versions of the stats it added to the game - they were added first in raids but were behind time gated currencies or RNG - and then LW season 3 slowly added farmable methods over the first 3 episodes.
  17. I understand a lot of the sentiment of the OP, but realistically you could make a similar argument for different effort required balance patch to balance patch or pre POF vs post POF/EOD. It would be impossible to maintain a notion of "equal" effort over the course of a game like this that is constantly being tweaked/updated over time. While 50% damage and 100% health might seem like the most blatant advantage - chaos chrono could maintain permanent every boon in the game on 10 players, and from a mechanics perspective that was arguably more broken (consider that this meant permanent old resistance = zero condition damage taken, permanent stab, permanent aegis).
  18. Yeah I am not saying the result is perfect - I am just saying given the alternative of "do nothing" this can tell you something. Giving everyone the mount and doing a pre/post analysis is equally problematic, maybe they will do both, who knows.
  19. I am sure they did know players would talk to each other. A/B tests don't have to be blind to measure intersting things.
  20. Yeah this looks bugged - the achievement does not reset each week, so once you give a particular jade statue, you can never give another, but since the vendor requires you to give them, the vendor is also inaccessible.
  21. Anyone had success gaining energy to cast jade spheres when you are playing support catalyst? e.g. with a Staff? As energy currently works based off hitting enemies, it seems biased against builds that focus on support such as water/arcane/catalyst. I have been playing this for a while in both open world and raids/strikes with the gain energy on swap trait and I find myself not able to cast jade spheres more often than I can cast them. Perhaps a tweak to gain energy on attacking or healing allies? Unless the spec is not designed for this or I am missing something about playing it.
  22. Thanks for the update @anet And agree ^ There could be one engineer handling the entire portion of the code base for the affected area. Sure they could pull someone from some other project but it might take away from that "one engineer" to onboard the new engineer to the code base. Also factor in that 2nd engineer gets removed from something and that content gets delayed. Everyone seems to think anet is Google and has oceans of engineering resources to just throw at things, all of whom know the entire codebase inside and out. Does everyone think 9 women working together can have a baby in 1 month too?

Could be that they made changes to SAB and rather than try to sort through some complex interaction on limited content, they are going to wait until end of SAB festival, then roll something back that will no longer cause a problem with the festival timing, then sort out the fix. Could also be that they tried to do a quick fix and then discovered no such fix exists. I mean they just announced there has been a bug since launch that doesn't process the WvW queue system right. I also have a feeling this isn't practically affecting as many people as we all think - a tiny fraction of the playerbase uses the forums or files bug reports - for people that only play one character (and I think that's 99% of the population) this is a non-issue.
  24. Had no problems for a few hours and then same slow loads and missing art/assets just started happening again.
