I seriously doubt that. Name one MMORPG that isnt grindy. GW2 is the most alt friendly MMO you'll find out there. There is also no gear treadmill because the max level of characters and gear never changes.

As someone who was super hyped for Cantha's return, I'm massively disappointed of how they've massacred my boy.

Then...why go on Steam in the first place? You do realize there will be a massive influx of people into the game that will more than make up for that cut🤔. I honestly sometimes wish GW2 had a subscription method because this "buy to play with no sub" method only works until you realize we get shafted on QoL features like this so that Anet can keep pushing their overpriced gem store items onto the player base.

Yeah honestly I don't know why people are praising EoD this much. Mid story at best with a disappointing dragon, pretty but dysfunctional maps that are a nightmare to navigate, a new gimmick (fishing) that gets old fast but takes ages to train, a new method of transport introduced that is nothing more than gem farm for Anet, mediocre AF meta events, jade tech that gets in your face at every corner and gets old fast. If you're not into strikes like me, there really isnt any replayability value in EoD. Personally, I find this to be the weakest expansion. Seemed like the one with most marketing around it so I guess that's where the hype comes from.🤷‍♀️

I'll do you one better - SWTOR allowed account linking, made it so that updates go through Steam and not the launcher, thus improving the speed AND introduced Steam achievements that automatically updated when you already had them completed in game. But I guess Anet wants to be speshul🤡

Personally, I'm very bothered by the fact that there is no seamless integration from old account into steam. Sure, you can do the whole add string method but that prevents you from using your Steam wallet and buying expansions. Does that mean that we need to keep two versions of our accounts so that we can add xpacks to our accounts? 🤔 When SWTOR went to Steam, your old account was integrated and some time later, the game even removed updating through the launcher, it now does it through Steam directly, which is much faster. Why can't Anet do this? Don't say it's because of the 30% cut because that's a cop out. Why move to Steam if you didn't want to give the platform a cut? They will gain a lot more new players so it doesnt make sense. TLDR: Any benefit of existing accounts moving accounts to Steam beyond playtime tracking?

Well all the people saying we've seen enough of Cantha...haven't we seen enough of Tyria? Yet it keeps coming back every damn time (eotn and gw2). I personally will be extremely disappointed if they go to the Charr homelands as I'm pretty sure there's nothing there apart from old rusty bivouacs and a bunch of grass...it was like that in gw1, it won't be much different now. By contrast, Cantha would ve changed A TON since gw1 (read the lore). Its a place that means a lot to gw1 players, and is new for gw2 players. Also, it won't be a purely "human expansion", you have all the tengu you guys are crying about, and if they manage to make it a playable race, even better.
