  1. What do you want thief to do outside of stealth then? stand there and be training dummies? what kitten do you want them to do? I'm not saying i want them to be unhealthy n all that but they got to be good at something.People want it to do no damage have no stealth have no teleports, but that just makes the thief a training dummy rather than a fun exciting experience. I am all for positive hcanges to make the game better but please enlighten me how you plan to prevent them from being unplayable? especially since thieves are all about going in and out of stealth and attacking in secret.How do you plan to prevent its lore type from being destroyed? how do you plan to explain that part too if it all the sudden has a bunch of buffs such as prot and such and no stealth?

Let the salt rain then for haters then, its about time they fix problem not by destroying a class then having that class either go uncontested OR something else goes uncontested because that class is missing. Its sorta like this: Thief>ele/necro/mesmer Don't know for sure what counters thief maybe ranger? or warr? Ranger>Necros don't know what else don't know what counters rangers maybe warr? Necro:Used to counter heavy boon classes such as warr guardian and revenant but now boon corrupt got deleted so we got boon meta. Ele:Since ele can do sidenoding i imagine they mostlikely do good versus rangers maybe revenants? They became solid roamers. These kind of things need to re reinstated again where certain things get countered by certain things. Maybe we just need to go back to having specific classes for SPVP balanced around or something i'm not sure i miss seeing thieves roaming around jumping around with staff smacking people and eles with hammer cata roaming and doing thier proc thing, and mesmer chronos with teles. Maybe the problem is stuff just keeps getting overnerfed that it ends up creating more unbalance.
  3. Sounds like a hater of chrono. I am personally concerned with over nerfing mesmers.Over the years for a while they were an outlier but then got repeatedly nerfed because of pve/PVP and heavily with impunity and i don't want mesmer mains to quit the game. Now if t here is a problem, maybe the solution is to buff their counters such as thief.
  4. They did that to scourge too nerfed it repeatedly hard but Thief gets a bad rap for nerfs. I remember when dagger used to hurt a lot

People always complain about thief cause they don't wanna learn and hate having a class built around stealth and running around, yet there are other classes who do it too but have damage included. IF other classes get level of speed then their damage needs to be massively nerfed too.People always complain about how people are able to avoid everything yet thief is a class designed around stealth its in WOW too.You don't have to like it, its literally a style type in D&D as well.
  6. I will admit i think thief gets over nerfed and over hated.Everyone and their mother is always hating on thief and asking it to be destroyed and its damage got hit so hard.Did it used to be overpowered? yes so did mirage so did revenant and so did even scourge.

You are acting as if they are logical, but they aren't.They are petty small minded and want to win and don't care what the matchup so if lets say you switch from thief to guardian and beat them, they will complain about guardian.If you switch to elementalist and win they will complain.They always will and always have because their egos cannot take losing to another player and it must be the game or they are cheating.
  8. You are not wrong people will always make a excuse instead of learn, they always will.Its a lot easier to blame others than to admit you are bad and don't know how to play. Insert x class here. People will repeatedly complain until x gets nerfed into the ground and people literally stop playing kitten class/build and the game dies off more every time that happens.
  9. They nerfed multiple times deadeye and people want it to cease to exist when its built to be an sniper. What do you want it to be? a training dummy? That wouldn't be fun for thief mains.
  10. i am just frustrated seeing arenanet casually just wreck things without a care and then wonder why people get up in arms i understand stuff might be overtuned sometimes but use a surgical tool not a chainsaw.
  11. If you keep kitten nerfing dps and teles and stealth, you don't have a thief anymore, you got a training dummy. I'm tired of people complaining about this.I used to do spvp and get sick of NERF THIEF OMG he can teleport. DUH so can engi guardian and rev mesmer and even necro, but i don't see you hating on them, yet you keep making experience worse. We are seeing more D/P than before and it used to be S/D P/P for trolling D/P and we use to even see staff thief in SPVP with acro jumping around which was cool to see.Now i guess you want them to do what? run around and claim points and roam?

  13. If you nerf chill yo will have to compensate necromancers, because then they will just be punching bags in pvp. Also you will have to properly balance mesmers.Can't expect to take everything away such as blinks blocks etc and expect them to have a fair chance. Mesmer has been busted in terms of being over nerfed for a while, and its time mes shine FINALLY my mes enthusiast run wild and hunt rangers.
  14. The best way is for classes to have something unique that is desireable. Engineers being good at buffing with swiftness and other kinda stuff makes sense. Warriors should give something that is desired in buff that is really desired.I remember when banners were wanted an supposedly now they got alac and quickness but it doesn't stand up to others that needs to be improved. Necros should give barrier maybe leach should heal while damaging enemies and i dunno. Mesmers need some love in the past they were kings of alac and quickness and have lagged behind since.
  15. Heck no teleports should require los and a cast time to make it so it requires effort and prep.It just means game becomes mindless get out of free charge escape.
  16. Didn-t they start making water elemental more useful outside combat with weaver? i coulda sworn it was during pof or later where water started getting buffed to be useful outside healing such as vulnerability etc? I think its great to see that its useful as a vulnerability spam/damage

Arenanet is bad at balancing i don't even understand this whole we gotta be in melee range.Maybe they can simplify the button combos of weaver and catalyst and raise up quality of life to make weaver and catalyst more accessible and fun.I kinda wonder if having it stay this way while also having quality of life issues could be repaired. I some of this is over my head as even though i've played some of ele for years my experience in weaver and catalyst is bad i'm extremely bad at catalyst and weaver and i'm probably mediocre to bad at tempest.
  18. You know all to well its a result of elementalists even with a dps weapon having access to water attunement to heal. I'm not saying its good for elementalists, i'm just pointing it out.They could overhaul so certain weapons have no healing at all but considering how you have 1 weapon some point of regen or something or i guess unless kits for heals.I just want to play a ele spec thats ranged.So tired of melee range and having to be a glass cannon.
  19. Ele seems to be well versed in a bit of healing and dps which makes it challenging to balance.Its glassy and depending on which elite it can be decently fast with extra dodges and decent melee range attacks.

Reaper has been buffed a lot, so naturally of course its good.Arenanet after years of fighting the people with BUT MAH SECOND HEALTH BAR!! and elementalist is unrewarding due to complex nerf reaper complex classes should do more dps thing, so of course reaper gets nerfed into the ground and stayed that way for a while and slowly given small buffs and then a larger one and finally reaches a point where its actually good. Would be great if dagger had a actual useunless its good in WVW? i dunno i never tried it in pve only a little in SPVP and i got wrekd.

Thing is arenanet's choice of how to nerf a class: 1:Destroy multiple things that weren't the problem first and then finally destroy what causes the problem leaving the class a mess and unenjoyable. 2:Make it even less fun by buffing that one thing that hard counters that class so that class gets hard countered by multiple classes too hard EG:Stealth and stuns and projectile blocks. What happens after that? a class that once was countered somewhat counters the class that counters necro hard because too many stuns invulns and spammable stealth. Years and years arenanet has used this design to nerf a class by overbuffing one aspect to nerf another class Thief got weaker while other class got more mobility and hard hits to counter thief.Rangers got a mix of high mobility very good CC and ranged/melee damage allowing them to insta gib. Overall there is just been too much power creep thief was kept in line when it was nerfed because they were forced to use their stealth to run away when they couldn't kill people and be a +1 but there are classes who had more stealth more speed you look at rangers who had speed+invulns plus hard combo attacks who could insta gib people mesmers had instakill from stealth in the past which is why the nerf crusade went so hard revenants were broken OP in the past themselves with spam plus they spit out boons nonstop being kitten. I don't personally like the idea of hard counters where they hard counter so hard, it becomes irrelevant to even fight back.I am unsure if they can fix it, but i am concerned they hit into a rabbit hole they are stuck at now with so many classes and some getting ruined by years of power creep
  22. I still wish they would add a elite around dealing aes and dealing good with trash mobs.The phantoms are usually terrible for dealing with adds and better at single targets.Maybe i'm just bad at mesmer which is 100% likely, i still do like the idea of mesmers.

  24. Heard chrono wasn't that great in SPVP and i'm wondering because i know after everyone complained about chronos and mesmers and mirage they got hit quite hard with the nerf bat.I am concerned since we all know how Arenanet works:Hit with nerf hammer into the ground we say.

They(Arenanet) should look at the projectile blocks in the game to see if its balanced.Too much and it becomes overpowered too and then scourge and any projectile throwing class will have a better time.This game has a tendency when one class gets complained about or another, to throw on a bunch of classes a bunch of stuff that counters, making the game less enjoyable due tot hat one thing.From my memory multiple classes had projectyle blocks i know ele on tempest has projectile block i think guardian and warriors probably some form of revenant so yeah that might need to be looked at.
