  1. Can confirm after pointing at the thing multiple times like a mad person that this is still bugged and doesn't register.
  2. I say change vengeance as a whole so that you get up to fight for a few seconds then you're downed again or just replace it with something that lets you ignore damage for a short period of time and bandage or just.. anything useful that's not vengeance. If you leave it in and make it so you just fight for a bit before going downed again you can finish off the person/mob in the time you have vengeance then you can safely bandage yourself afterwards but if you can't then they can just finish you off or, maybe, that'd have given you enough of an edge to finish them in down and, of course, it'd have a fairly large CD. Regardless, atm vengeance is essentially a worthless skill. As it is it's like "Whoopdi-doo. You killed the mob/mobs that downed you but you're gonna die anyway because 25% is a F." Or if you're in pvp you just have people run away from you and move onto their next objective as they run down the timer so either way you're dead because the skill never procs. I've been playing since release and in that time the times I've used vengeance I can count the number of times it actually procced on one hand, three. Three times. Every other time I've used it I die anyway, even if I end up killing off five+ mobs. It's just too low of a chance to be even remotely useful, even 50% is still a failing grade. You wouldn't leave your actual life up to the flip of a coin? How about a four-sided die where you have to get a 4 to live? No? So why is that exactly what we're doing here?
  3. Just wanted to drop by and say thanks to everyone! You all clearly know what you're talking about and I've learned a lot from both the explanations as well as just the linked builds. You've all helped immensely, thanks again! <3
  4. It's taken me years to come anywhere close to liking the thief. Compared to every other class I always felt like I did far too little damage for how impossibly squishy it was regardless of what I ran. This has caused me to try and delete the thief for another character numerous times through my GW2 life, that is until I finally had at least one of each class. At that point I decided "Eh, may as well" and slogged through leveling it primarily with dual dagger. And I died. A lot. Way more than I ever have on any other class. I tried PvE builds from meta battle but can't seem to quite do the stats correctly as I'm just buying Exotics from the TP for the most part instead of going full ascended and in such they don't seem to offer quite what I need, not to mention they're all specifically focused on damage, leaving me rather vulnerable, as they're raid builds and that's the only PVE that sort of site really cares about. I made this character specifically in anticipation of the Deadeye. so I saved up hero points and fully unlocked it day one. Unfortunately, I've found the same problems I had before have carried over. I don't do enough damage to most Veterans or higher and can't avoid getting hit enough to stay up long enough to kill them without some delaying tactics to allow for heals. Not all Veterans are this way, mind, just most I've run into in POF. So with all that in mind I'm looking for a build that has a lot of survivability and does a lot of damage. I'm not talking top of the charts, but enough to generally solo veterans, elites, and maybe even champs with the adds they often come with/spawn. This means, in general, I'm going to need AOE and a fair deal of it, something I find the thief lacks in spades. Yet with enough single target damage and re-targeting I can see it being viable against small groups of four or less, though I fully admit to not knowing at all as my expertise, despite lots of reading and looking at builds on metabattle, is highly lacking. I've found or figured out great builds that generally suit my needs for most of the other classes, yet thief still feels so impossibly lacking. Rifle feels like it attacks too slow and it feels really restricted with having to kneel to put out the best damage and d/d, while better feeling, generally still tends to get two shot by things like those veteran+ awakened canids due to having to be in melee range and me not being able to take a hit. So, again, not looking for super DPS, but respectable damage combined with respectable survivability. If needed I'll even grind to get Daredevil, though I'm really going to miss the mark from Deadeye, yet if it means I might actually get some damaging aoe attacks it may be worth it. Thanks for your time and patience for reading this and thanks for any suggestions you put my way that aren't "Just do X class, instead" because that is not an answer.
  5. I read that. It doesn't say I can only ask for one item, however. It says that I have the ability to ask for an item, but it doesn't specifically say that I can only ask for an item. It goes out of its way to say that I can only make one request, but that request can be any number of items, as other requests have shown (asking for large amounts of varied crafting materials) especially if they're working toward a singular goal, which mine is, completing the set I want for one of my characters. So, yeah. You're just harassing me at this point for no legitimate reason. How about you just leave it be and move on? It isn't against the rules and it isn't hurting anyone for me to have simply asked for something in a thread that's all about asking for things.
  6. Wrong, It says I can make one request, not that I can only ask for ONE SINGLE ITEM. I read and re-read it just to make sure. Also, why ask for something I can get myself? That just seems silly. I can do and can collect all sorts of things, but there are just things that I'll never be able to do, any sort of crafting required, the "gift" requiring PVP, and the icy runestones 'cause I'll never have that much gold. So may as well ask for what I'll never be able to get myself. Everything else I've ever wanted I've been able to just buy outright from the gem store 'cause I have no issues dropping money on the game (I find it fun) or I've been able to grind out over time. Can't do that with legendaries, though. Those require content that I can't make myself do. I have over 1600 badges of honor just sitting around doing nothing since pretty much year one and have found that anything that could have been purchased with them that I wanted to (such as the PvP gift) I missed the window to do so 'cause I took a break from the game at the wrong time and now the things are essentially worthless. All I want to do is what I've been doing, PvE content like bounties and helping newbies get acclimated by hanging around starter zones every once in a while to answer questions. None of what I do pays or rewards really well, I've found, yet that doesn't mean I can't ask for a legendary. It'll never happen, yet at least the one thing I'm asking for is something that is both valuable to me and that I'll never actually get myself. Seems pointless to ask for something that you can eventually obtain yourself since you only get a single request.
  7. Rodgort and Incinerator. I've got a flaming Sylvari and need to set more things on fire! It'd pretty much be the best gift ever. US I know, I know. Why not just make it yourself? Because I'll never be able to do so, that's why. I've been playing this game for 5+ years and have never had more than 86 gold despite many long nights of farming. I don't turn gold into gems, I don't buy a ton of stuff, just the gear needed to not completely suck in general PVE content. I've dreamt of having those specific legendaries since shortly after starting the game and despite years of gathering every time I look into what it takes to craft them I get disheartened and just feel like I'll never be able to make it happen. So here we are. Maybe I'm clueless, maybe I'm a terrible player, but what I'm not is too proud to put out a gift request in a thread dedicated to such requests. I don't expect it to ever happen, yet, like my grandpa used to say - It never hurts to just ask. Thank you for your time in reading. Take care out there!
  8. My big, huge, absolutely unforgivable issue with this expansion is that the new specialization weapons require crafting. I could literally get all of the other pieces but because of account-bound crafting, I will legitimately never be able to get that one last mordant weapon for any of the POF professions. :-1:
