  1. I like the Rune of Fireworks as it is, so option 3: Make a new rune rather than changing an existing rune and screwing over people using the existing rune.
  2. If I don't pick WvW, then I would have to do more things outside of WvW (which I enjoy and where I spend the majority of my time) to accomplish weeklies. Not spending time in a game mode I like to get rewards in another game mode is as illogical as doing weeklies I don't like on a weekend. The weekly WvW rewards are variations of things I don't do if I play 20 hours of WvW in a week (jumping puzzle and yak escorts) and dumb-luck or sit-and-wait time sucks that (defend events) that you can finish triple Diamond and complete 6 WvW weekly achievements without hitting. You don't have the data to determine how much reward I get in the end. And your logic fails because your data is incomplete and misused. That's the biggest lie in what you're trying to push. If I have to spend more time in game doing things I don't enjoy to get the same amount of income, I'm losing the most important reward in the game - enjoyment. Because of the nature of the game, a certain amount of in-game income is necessary to support enjoying its features. Or, I would need to pay more money(gems to gold) for the same enjoyment I could receive before the change to make up the difference. Doing things that suck, sucks, regardless of the income it generates. If the system can't generate equivalent income with the same time investment while providing the same level of enjoyment out of things done during the time invested, then it has gotten worse.
  3. Your logic fails because people play a game to have fun. The weeklies I have left this week are: Escort 10 Allied Supply Caravans to Their Destinations in World vs. World Defend 10 World vs. World Objectives Complete the Dark Revelry Jumping Puzzle Complete the Obsidian Sanctum Jumping Puzzle in the Obsidian Sanctum Map By your "logic" I should log in and do these on the weekend. By actual logic, since these suck and I have no interest in them, the last thing I should be doing on my weekend is these things. So these things are automatically out of any realistic calculation of what I get from the new system. If you spend your weekends doing things that suck on purpose for a game, you have a sad, miserable, life with no better options. So I'm somewhat understanding of your need to lash out at people for criticizing your bad use math to support your argument.
  4. I'm guessing: 2 Birthday Booster 5 Teleport to Friend 1 Bag of Spirit Shards 1 Birthday Card 2 Black Lion Statuette 1 Proof of Legend There Can be Only Ones Anniversary Achievement Box 1  Delectable Birthday Dyes 1  Guaranteed Wardrobe Unlock 2  Anniversary Weapon Pack 2  Dragon Decade Weapon Pack I doubt there will be anything at the level of the Black Lion Special Mount Selection License this year, but I'd guess probably one more item of some sort either with the gift or in the gemstore. Another Black Lion Special Mount Selection License would be really awesome though.
  5. It will be exclusive to the drop for a year or two, then be available as a code you get when you buy a guacamole latte at a chain that has five locations across three states that sells for $50 on ebay. Then three years later it'll be free with a Prime subscription.
  6. I'm kind of curious as to whether it is one person in charge that thinks tying things to when you use a skill that is on the longest cooldown and/or requires the most specific timing to use is a fun way to do things or if there is some silver-tongued devil in the office that managed to sell it for both traits and relics. Either way, it's not a fun way to do things.
  7. Probably none of them. Unless they rework them and how they're acquired to deliberately up the prices, they're generic. I'm sitting on about 60 sets of runes which took varying degrees of gold or grind. I expect all of that to be wasted. Lost in the legendary rune discussion is that if you have multiple characters and builds without legendary runes, you're just as screwed. Once the sixth component comes off and they balance numbers, all of the runes are equally generic and you're looking at doing and spending to acquire relics to get back to where you were. I expect the free selection box to have only the most meaningless and trivial of the six rune bonuses. It would have been better if they had just planned to replace your six rune set with the equivalent stat-only runes and the relic equivalent to the six rune bonus.
  8. 1) The stab change. It was all downhill from there. 2) Turning what was basically a digital equivalent of a fun and popular Sunday softball game into a hate-filled wanna-be eSport. ArenaNet doesn't deserve all the blame for this, as a lot of it was driven by a segment of the player base, but ArenaNet was fully complicit in it. 3) The boon ball metas, which have made the wanna-be eSport into eBand consisting solely of standing in a clump pushing buttons in pre-planned sequence or marching around in a clump pushing buttons in a pre-planned sequence.
  9. Confirming. Flicker like a glitch in the matrix rather than an animation is happening on mine as well.
  10. I hate to say it, but you likely won't be logging back in if you stick to that. In 10 years I can't recall a single time that they completely ruined something the way they did this and went back and fixed it to any reasonable semblance of what it was before in comparable fun or remotely reasonable effectiveness. The best that will ever happen based upon past results is that eventually the person who did this is replaced by someone else for some reason and the next person will change it in some way that sucks a little less, but still sucks enough that it isn't worth playing.
  11. What do you mean start? Until the mechanist and rifle boost, that's pretty much all it was with the exception of some broken support things in WvW for a while.
  12. ANET Dev: "Hey, people like this and it's fun. We can't have effective builds people like that are fun. Effectiveness has to be miserable."
  13. Armistice Bastion Pass (not the 2-week one) could use a return engagement.
  14. Reading this thread I don't see where anything is proposed that changes the Mechanist in a way that it is still LI and allows the players using it to enjoy the same content they have access to now. The suggestions have either been to change the spec in ways that make it no longer LI, making it another piano build (as someone artfully phrased it) or nerf it to the point that people are forced to abandon it and play a different spec. It's like a combination of horribly bad game design ideas and deliberate malice.
  15. Wouldn't be as bad if they actually put some effort into the MK I instead of it just being such a lazy reskin of the MK II. If they were dead set on Puritanizing them, they could have done it without just making it a bad-looking MK II.
