  1. Why would we need new weapons? The main appeal of SotO as a main Rev player was Weapon Mastery granting free access to previous spec weapons, and the start of the show has been the short bow so far. Half of our arsenal has no use, why do you want new gimmicks to pile in the trash can? There's not a single role for a Rev build which isn't already covered, and new weapons means just stolen animations from other classes and time wasted in delivering nothing of interest (ex.: scepter). I would rather prefer from ANet to focus in new features as homing or gestore skins; I already have all the useless weapons I need in all professions. Also: nerf Vindicator! To the "confused" folks: this is not a posture, I'm talking sriously; they released a new expansion with no new specs (it's ok, the field already feels overcrowded and a lot of specs are already underused), no new mounts (it's fine, we already have a ton and Skyscale overall obscures most of them, pun intended), no new crafting or fishing or homing... So the main novelties were spec weapons shared (which was great), a couple of new maps and the promise of new weapons and legendary armors. But none of the latest were available at release, and after 6 months more, what we got is that more than half of the new weapons are garbage (as expected), and most of the roles are alerady filled, so why we would want new weapons? What weapons we need? A dps weapon? We already have those so if they suck why not fix them? A support weapon? The same. Why to waste time re-making something we already have (or had in the past)? What ANet should do instead is something productive, of some use. Maybe even fun? I'm not in a hurry (73 h and counting in Last Epoch, still chosing main in Tekken 8), they can spent as much time as the want... But spending another year making another round of lame weapons would be just a waste...
  2. ...They dodn't even showcase the spec icon in the PvP minimap...
  3. I hope never. Relics succesfully turned a system with 99 runes of which barely 6-12 had any use of a system of 99 runes in which only 3 are used (4 if you play a healer). This is almost perfect since the goal was always to make most of past content redundant and homogenize the professions as much as possible. Next step is making useless almost every sigil to work as in PvP were barely 4-5 have any use. Also, the relic change made me re-craft runes for near 450 gold coins to re-gear most of my characters (plus another 800 gold coins in a legendary rune for the respirator and to unlock the legendary relic) so now that is done and I'm 1250 gold coins poorer I don't have any interest in any silly balance change just to end in the same place: a single rune used in all power builds, another in condi and another in support (plus one for movement if all). You should also consider that in the current schemes runes aren't but a powercreep buff, since they have 0 personality; that ship is now reserved to relics (in which ironically 5-6 are all you need, as we could spect). Runes is a done system, pure abandoware. I don't expect any changes there.
  4. I started maining Warrior for like 4 months, then moved to Guardian over 2 years, then HoT arrived and swaping to Revenant was unavoidable. I like Warrior but wasn't able to play it right; Guardian was better but ANet hates tanks at PvP so it was just a low HP Warrior with poor mobility; when a new heavy armor class with good mobility and mid HP arrived seemed the right choice, and has been that way since. Cele Vindi is arguably the best solo PvE spec in the game; Vindi is also a meta WvW support choice and powerful roamer. Is currently mediocre at PvP but that happens with most of specs and at least I enjoy the gameplay and options provided. Rev is also very convenient since has very few weapons and uses even less of them, and even without legendaries is easy to gear.
  5. As I said I agree with you: nerf Vindicator. I don't care about buffs for core Rev, Herald or Renegade since I stopped playing Herald when they changed the way in which worked and I won't play a gamestyle I don't like; I won't come back to Herald no matter how much meta is at dps golem. Being said that, how was last February MAT for Revs? I guess not one did reach finals; hard to assert since streamer sources seems to have died in the last 4 months. Now, if you excuse me, I have to go back to put another 50 hours in Last Epoch...
  6. ....You can only pick 2 of those 3. You'll never be able to have those three at the same time unless CmC comes back again with the "5 Elementalist x team" meta.
  7. See, I think that I finally agree with you here. Lets further nerf Vindicator to the core Revenant level, so we ensure that no one will ever play this profession in a MAT again. That will put us and potential Rev players of the future in the place we deserve: away from that putrid game mode which died long time ago and which carcass has been distracting too many of us with its stench. Save us time and regret. ANET NERF VINDICATOR!!!
  8. Cele Warrior for unlocking the Berserker spec while running long bow + sword torch is really good (not top but quite high and more important: easy to use). I would only run power stats in Warrior with the Bladesworn spec, but again the question of the topic was more about which profession would be harder to level manually so boosting it makes sense and not "which one is the best to take advantage from the free celestial exotics since then the answers would have been diferent.
  9. Is exactly 500 tokens and the same amount to unlock two full specializations to a newly created character, so is a lot and will take much more than just doing a couple of chapters in thge story mode. By the way most of the new weapons suck (I still did it with WvW tokens since honestly I don't have anything better to do with them and lately not playing the game seems the best way to respect my own time).
  10. I would say Thief since if you try to level it manually just playing PvE alone the chances are thet will keep you busy ~28 hours instead of the 18-20 hours it will take to do the same with a Mesmer or Warrior (or that was my case leveling again all professions just for fun last year).
  11. I used Rev's scepter like 5 minutes in the beta before ditching both the weapon and the beta since didn't found anything interesting there. Now I unlocked it after spending 500 tokens in WvW and played the scepter for like 4 minutes. I have no clue of what does or why and as with hammer, shield and swords I don't think I will ever touch it again. Seems like the more I play Rev, the less weapons I need to use. I have no suggestions about this weapon or future ones for Rev. I plan to put another 30 hours in Las Epoch this weekend, tho.
  12. My main complaint is that the Legendary Relic not only doesn't have any visual effect attached but also that doesn't display the relic you're really using. Even worse, in the Customize screen the purple letters are very dark over an even darker background so is really hard to read what you're seein unles your mouse floats above so the letters change to a much brighter purple. They should represent the relic you're wearing just with the older icons surrounded by a purple circle or something and improving the reading adding a white border or something...
  13. Every 1 v 1 tournament dudes as Jebro and similar hosted were in Foefire and with some sustain amulets forbiden just for this exact reason: if you take a look at how sometimes in duels in WvW (in the middle of the plain near the bridge in the south) some people with compromised HP flee away to reset it like they were roaming instead of dueling... Is just shameful. The center area of Foefire is space more than enough to have a decent duel, and if you plan to constantly poke at range and retreat from your oponent you deserve to lose the control point and eventually the match.
  14. I'm curious about the last part of your sentence: Willbender is a very strong WvW roamer but in my experience a meh PvE spec, a questionable chose for a WvW zerg and in PvP seems quite frail. What makes WB broken enough toi grant buffs in Rev shield? Not like I'm opposed to, but haven't seen a WB at MATs in like 6 months or more...
  15. ^I don't plan to run shield (unless the scepter arises like a unkillable tank in PvP, which maybe ends happening but then would be a bad idea to get used to it since would end being overnerfed and useless), BUT: * The root makes the shield a lot less useful, since makes you a sitting duck and the game is full of unblockables. Most of Necros run wells with the trait that makes them unblockable which instantly counters the shield block. Warrios have been moaning about 100 blades being a crapy skill at PvP due the root that puts on themselves and they are rigth. The same happens with Rev's block in the shield. Old off hand sword with the parry was way better off hand. But was only a suggestion from the fence: main reason I play Vindi is due can be good at mobility and at cleansing conditions; the shield has the weird ability of (outside Herald) being mediocre at the first thing (cleanses) and terrible at the second (mobility). Shield, staff, hammer, swords: 5 weapons from Rev I actually don't enjoy (and don't use).
  16. Fine, then this is my tier list for leveling: 1) Hambow warrior, condition stats (mix up util carrion starts become available ~level 61). 2) Staff Mesmer, same stats (any weapon as secondary set; same stats of choice). 3) Guardian and Necromancer (same stats of choice). Those two have the advantage of having stronger core builds for PvP/WvW. Builds: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PKgAINlJwSYKMLWJOKP/LfA-DSIUbU9XKtUAJEBRGCZmAO8CAAA-e http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PigAEZlJwuYWsE2IO6L6neA-DSIUbUxDAA-e http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PWwAEt/lVwAZdMM2IOuKZrNA-DSRYLhnNqhyIhKIzUwhLBBIc9wr5EfaAA-e http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PSwEY6MssCGG7j5xOxSZ6bpD-DSIYrS9wfKRqAyUI0pIoEJgCfBEgw51ciPNAA-e Leveling should take Him 18-25 hours just completing core Tyria maps (minus hearts) or can be done in less than 3 hours doing the Wizzard Vault daily and weekly achievements at PvP. You use 632 AA tokens to buy 79 tomes of knownledge and done. Won't be faster than that unless He wants to waste money in a level booster...
  17. What about shield getting the extra cleansing for free but Herald's shield trait removes the root?
  18. Celestial Mechanist, celestial Mesmer or celestial Vindicator. The first has a very chill paced gameplay and an excellet pet to tank; the second one can rely entirely on evades while vomiting conditions and the Vindi, albeit requires more kystrokes, is the tankiest thing in the game at the moment. Make your choice and I'll link a build.
  19. Chose a character you want to play and which doesn't have tthe core Tyria maps or story mode completed and start to do the 100% map completion and story mode at least once. You can ask for a build and I gladly provide one once you make your choice. In parallel, start to complete the expansion maps and masteries. Once you reach some level of finesse playing that character start trying out dungeons, fractals, maybe PvP or even WvW. Start to gather resources or tokens to get your first ascended armor and weapon set; get the ascended trinkets from Season 4/4 Icebrood Saga maps. Then focus your goals in getting your first legendary armor set and then the trinkets.
  20. ...In Foefire with the central control point seizable, so if a player constantly runs away to reset its HP ends losing by points (max 50 or 100 x round).
  21. If you want a decent OW build running greatsword Mark FN has been running a power DH in OW having some success (very good in terms of speed) soloing some bounties (you can check a lot more samples in his channel): Tho, I guess that build and Guardian in general would have troubles soloing some of the hardest bounties (also: the build is powerful but a bit in the brittle side, so ins not exactly a tack). But if you play well and known the foes I'm sure will do fine vs regular mobs and most of chanpions and bounties in OW PvE.
  22. Celestial Vindicator, celestial Mirage, celestial Mechanist. Probably of those the Mechanist has the best mobility, but the other two are stronger. Builds: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PmzAkeVlhQmsI6kJRpMIClBSqMBqkj2za0E-DyIY1oj/QKUVlrEoXhgC/AkgA2DvGQMtBqA-e http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PizAYhrlRwiYIsEmJW2P9PNA-DyIY1o+/MyUl2r0ShfAChg2D/JgQTKm2AVA-e http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PejAkqlZw6YtMXWMOsL5RNA-DyIY1oh/MCUBUoEQhfACRg2AvGQMtBqA-e
  23. Before the nerf I also always ran it when I chose Devastation (which was almsot never because Devastation is truly lame as source of damage at WvW/PvP and the alternatives in other trait lines at least provide utility/sustain), but now that instead of removing roots just voinds non-damaging conditions for a pity 2 seconds I never use it. I mean; between 3 Revenant characters I stack 15 trait templates and only one has Devastation and doesn't use it and I don't use that plantif at any game mode, anyway. By the way, ditching Devastation doesn't require any effort or trading cons and pros or anything; once everything is nerfed to bad gravity just pulls choices to "less bad options", which is how everyone ended running rune of Divinity in PvP (when 10% more HP was instantly better that all the rest of crap) and the same happens here. There's nothing amazing about the Devastation damage in competitive game modes so why not instead run something that provides value?
