  1. It's super boring yes, but so were pirate ship and the condi meta when it was the same brainless thing every day. Every tactic should have a strong counterplay - corrupts and strips for boonballs, reflects, cleanses - rewarding tactics and skill. The balance philosophy they published in October 2022 said that they regarded WvW balance as like PvE but with a greater need for stability. They got a lot of abuse for that at the time but stuck with it anyway. I'd like to know if they still believe it
  2. It's endemic of the WvW philosophy in that it favours outnumbering groups. It's easy to kite away with moa 5 if you're 1v1 or you have other players around you, but if you're trying to kite a group of players solo then good luck with no utility skills and no movement skills. It's not a uniquely annoying skill though, and it's no less fun than say, sitting on a treb for 10 minutes trying to open a T3 structure when your team is outnumbered and it's covered in ACs
  3. Remus above is right that this is more than a 2 button instant-win combo, it's a well executed burst. There are plenty of other builds like this - explosive holo, shatter mirage - all roaming around looking for glassy players they can sneak up on. DE is fun to play but constant camera panning and cursing your own reaction speed comes with the territory
  4. Big language barrier in our current link. Weird decision tbh.
  5. https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/guild-wars-2-fall-and-winter-roadmap-2022/ says "one of" the skins will be available in this beta. Full set presumably available over many betas.
  6. Now that the dust has settled, what does everyone think about the anvil changes? Personally I keep forgetting to top my characters up, because unlike the previous system there is no obvious UI alert to tell you that it's time to find an anvil. So for me, it's slightly more annoying than before. As well as UI clutter, power creep and something else to confuse new players. I'd suggest deleting them entirely, and allowing users with repair cannisters and permanent contracts to swap them for a different drop of similar value.
  7. The anvils inside all nine keeps are bugged, with the old dialogue and don't give the new buff. You have to go back to spawn to refresh it on every map.
  8. Still attempts to repair armour and doesn't give your new buff. Hardly the most urgent issue right now but reporting so you know. (sorry, should be in the other forum but I can't move or delete it)
  9. You've made the same mistake with warrior, thief and revenant - which is to overhaul one core specialisation as a "support option" without considering how the traits will synergise with others to create fun and viable builds that can compete in all areas of the game. EG: Concealing Restoration and Hidden Thief from Shadow Arts were vital for sustain in PvP and WvW, and you've replaced them with tepid underpowered group support options for PvE.
  10. Yep, Mechanist's trait Channeling Conduits will give 100% alac uptime to 5 people simply using mace autoattack, and you get even more with Crisis Zone, Barrier Signet etc.
  11. Raptors in desert BL, with a few minor map changes, would probably be great. That map already has fast-travel mechanics. Obviously the engage skill would change combat quite a lot and would need balancing, but that's always the case with such a big change. Or introduce mounts with a new BL map, which is long overdue anyway.
  12. It would be nice if you roleplayers could enter WvW in "guest mode" and be seen as NPCs by the other players. More than once I've gone into a group full burst before noticing say chat and trying to disengage. The tone of frustration suggested that this was pretty common.
  13. I hope that the strength of this response helps you demonstrate to the game's creative team that there is still significant interest in WvW and the mode warrants serious attention.
  14. Seems to be almost exclusively T1 people complaining, which is natural. We can't begrudge them having server pride when their server wins every week. This has the potential to be the best thing to happen to WvW for years. It'll live and die by the algorithm and the reward structure, but anything that evens out the active WvW population and prevents bandwagoning at the start of matchups is brilliant. A more granular approach is exactly what we needed, and it makes perfect sense to hinge that on guilds and alliances.
  15. Brilliant news. There will be issues of course, but this feels well-considered and long overdue. Will there be systems in place to stop commanders and their core followers from bandwagoning the minute the season starts to create super-servers? Will there be new WvW reward tracks in line with PvP rewards and raids, giving us loot proportionate to our play time?
  16. With the emergence of some of the new Korean MMOs gaining popularity based on their sparkly graphics I'm sure that ANET are looking at their options. A game engine update would be a big job, but might be worth it for the health of the game.
  17. Nope, he hadn't ever gone down and I don't run that skill. Just insta-death from half health when the scourge manifested a sand shade on top of him. Spooky, definitely a bug.
  18. The guildie running with me instantly died from half health while fighting a group of three, no down state. We checked combat logs and saw this weird error after the last Scourge attack . Happened at 4.59am GMT, Eternal Battlegrounds. He was on spellbreaker. Gunnars Hold server. No, he hadn't already gone down and triggered vengeance.
