  1. Hi hi, Coming back after a period of not being very active, I am looking for a guild again. I play mostly casual PvE. A guild having regular meta trains, world boss battles and groups of players achievement hunting would suit me best. I do like occasional fractals and strikes, but usually just play on regular difficulty or on the lower scales. I don’t raid and uninterested in trying again after many bad experiences. Unfortunately, I work pretty stupid times so I really would like a guild who does things starting at 19:00 CET or later. There is no way I would be able to make 16:00 or 17:00 slots unless on the weekend. I come with a pretty extensive cast of characters, though I am usually seen on my power reaper. I have a tag and I’m happy to tag up and run a regular activity for the guild like an organised RIBA or meta/ boss train for an evening each week. I’d also be in for a WvW night once in a while, though I shouldn’t be trusted to tag up for that. I usually travel as a pack with my husband who has a similar play pattern to me, maybe with a heavier focus on farming. We’re both older players and pretty chill. We’re not really interested in being ‘pro’ or ‘elite’. It would be really great to join a community who can be gracious losers and not have a go at each other when a fractal fails or when someone is struggling with some the game content. Excessive amounts of crude language in guild chat is a hard no for me. So if you’re interested in having us as players just ping me in game (Yuoko Flowright) or here.
  2. Somewhere in the settings you can also turn on to display all interact-able object names. Doesn’t give you a boundary, but it will show you the middle of the pool and you can aim your target there when casting line.
  3. try those story achievements again. A lot of them have been trivialised by elite spec power creep. I remember some of them being really hardcore when they came out and I really wanted them because I loved the shiny version of the armor set they locked. I think I have all but one of these LW2 era collections now where I just don’t have the patience to try again and again and again. I think it’s okay that some of them are tricker or hard to cater to players of different tastes. In my opinion the harder ones are usually older. Can’t think of any new collections that are like this, save perhaps a few EOD ones that want a completed Jade Sea meta.
  4. I find myself agreeing with a lot of what I see here. I would find it super helpful too if certain items got a border to show you what they are. Say all collection items get a little green ribbon in the corner so they can be identified at a glance. Another thing that I would love some quality of life on is the Mcguffin type items, Nuhoch Warbler, Treasure Hustung Kits, Modrem Extraction Devices… etc. It’s often hard to tell where they are from and what they are for. Before the xpac hit I spent a full afternoon clearing inventories across 12 chars and cleaning up my bank spending ages googling some of these drops to figure out what they were. I find that every few months I need to sacrifice an afternoon to not playing and dealing with inventory mess. It would be neat also if there was something like ‘add to bank stacks’ if you are at the bank to pull everything out of your inventory that you are collecting in the bank rather than having to deal with this one item at a time. It would also be nice to have deeper pockets for mithril and elder wood tier base mats. If you are doing legendaries you will burn through thousands of these. Like I think I had like 9000 mithril and 6000 leather around prior to crafting Astralaria filling up a whole 2 bank tabs with basic mats. I’ve since started a little guild just for me where I’ve unlocked all the bank tiers and it’s a nice storage area for legendary crafting - but also an expensive hobby.
  5. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s probably a duck, err bug.
  6. Thank you team for working on this and taking steps to make the meta more fun for everybody. Reading over the notes I am glad to hear about the timing change for the green circle whisp phase. I am hopeful this will help with making the content accessible to more players. However, overall I find this announcement a little 'tone deaf'. It doesn't feel like the rate of clears is improving because players are learning, but because players are gate keeping. People are being paid to leave maps, squads are now forming asking for LI minimums and killproof before accepting players. Commanders have to organise runs with 10 subgroups and sort out a heal and support per group. Fine for now on launch week, but how is that sustainable in a few month when most high end players have the turtle. It's really an exercise in herding cats to command this meta. Obviously will see how this plays now, but it's not instilling a lot of faith that I can take my non-raiding friends for a run any time soon.
  7. Yes it does. However, it is much, much, much easier than the meta and you can probably find a party to carry you. It's like a 10 minute fight.
  8. So I can report back that I finally beat the meta with a raid squad (with KP requirement). We did the green phases as intended rather than skipping and finished with a minute still on the clock. Feels like winning the lottery in some ways. However, there are now also people holding maps hostage. We had a griefer squad in our map trying to get people in not participating in the meta for the express purpose of taking slots from our squad making the attempt. They then proceeded to continuously spam map chat so that anyone outside the squad couldn't read instructions in map. Really sad to see people behave like this - but even worse that this meta is bringing about such behaviour. Squads shouldn't have to ask people to leave in the first place, and I get players protesting that. I just wished Arena would at least say something so that people who haven't won the lottery yet don't loose hope. The frustration expressed by players in that map is unreal.
  9. Despite yesterday's patch indicating this was being worked on the bug is still around.
  10. Just stick an ad in the LFG and tip 3 - 5 people a couple of gold each and they’ll be happy to help out. We gave the random players we picked up 5 gold each and had a decently sized group in about 10 minutes.
  11. Omg echovald GH! We’d be all over that in my mini guild. The cathedral windows and and building style is amazing - but as much as I hate saying that with Arborstone in the mastery tracks and the game already released I think it’s highly unlikely.
  12. We just went with a super organised raid group post patch and got super unlucky with a million tail flips, so I’m not sure it’s hugely improved. Failed with 1% left and we had no mess ups in the whisp phase. Meta is still a bit tight and likely not doable for casuals. On the positive side the run was actually fun with an organised raid group and I wouldn’t mind seeing an encounter like this somewhere - just as a meta locking a mount is not the right place. If it was more like triple trouble in terms of being an optional thing I could see something like that being ace, but still needs more tuning for a wider audience.
  13. There seems to be a new issue in the Seitung meta where the second canon event in the chain bugs out. There is still lots of time left on the timer, but for some reason no CC skills and no amount of damage will break the defiance bar on the canons. Can't say what triggers is as there have been runs where it doesn't happen.
  14. You can. Go to the bank, hit the wardrobe icon and type in the name of the set. You can preview all armours in the game from there.
  15. The maps are gorgeous and the art department had a triumph. The new GH is amazing. Arborstone/ Echovald is beautiful and really reward exploration. It's really what tangled depth should have been. Seitung has a neat mini puzzle I really enjoyed. I love the enemy design this xpac as I find it strikes a good balance between nice to look at but still threatening. I really enjoy not feeling like working for pest control. I'm looking at you chak, looking at you. I love the new skins in the game. The Jade tech armor set is amazing and I think I already dedicated a thread to my love of the Saltspray scarf. Also the ascended Jade punk set is neat and I like the saltspray set. I've not finished the story as I am playing it with a friend a few steps a night, but what I have seen so far is great. I would agree that it is slightly political, but all stories that touch and affect us are. Fantasy is always allegory for perceived reality or felt experience. I think it's fun. I would say the first three metas play super well and are engaging, so I had fun with it. Strike played well too.
  16. I was surprised to not see it as an elite spec, but I guess core engi does cover a lot of the mechanics of the gw1 class and then scourge is kinda similar too. Not sure there is a way to make it different enough. I do however love the theming of the ritualist way more than turrets or vague yellow blobs. Maybe one day. 🙂
  17. Umm, I doubt honestly that raiding is an aspirational goal for many and the raiding community does an excellent job letting new players know they are not welcome already. I don't think it needed another tool to show people the door. Now, I don't play raids a lot mostly because I play in bursts of being super active and then being gone for a while which doesn't lend itself to a static, but the last few clears I did were mechanically easier than this fight. The only thing I found really comparable to the PUG raiding experience is the abuse players are subjected to. The event is three days old and already we are tagging things with "experienced only" and "must know mechanics" when there's not even a comprehensive wiki page yet. And this be why raiders and hardcore endgame players can't have nice things. If the community runs off people who try and punishes them with abuse the group of players tackling such content won't grow and the devs will struggle to justify for the dev time for new raids if only 3% of the player base will thrive in that ecosystem. So I don't think this meta will give us raid ready players. Also, tying this meta up with a one time unique reward doesn't help. After the bad experiences people make they'll not want to come back to practice because there is nothing there to keep them going. If it awarded say decent gold people would come and try over and over. The way it is now people will unlock turtle and get out. And I do think we all have some responsibility to try and mitigate the behaviour in map chat. Just ignoring it is not a solution. This is fine: https://www.theverge.com/2016/5/5/11592622/this-is-fine-meme-comic .
  18. map currencies in all of the maps and events. you can convert writs to favours and some events award them straight up.
  19. The Tengu are stunning, arent they? I can't help but think something is coming at some point. The little tease in Champions about the Domain, the wonderful NPC variety, the pretty new armours on them... I think Anet must know how hyped people were about Tengu. I can't imagine they'd set this up and then not pay off in some way. Maybe they won't be playable, but perhaps Domain of the Winds as a story hub in the next LW season?
  20. I'd say that's pretty normal and id not play without being plugged into power and fully charged. If you have an nvidia card and geforce experience installed it will try to throttle your frame rate when on battery for the sake of being kind to the battery, but the game will stutter like crazy. You can turn that off in the nvidia settings, but youll bleed power even faster.
  21. redid the heart by the jade bots in kaineng to check if recipe was added there, but not here.
  22. Also played it with two and we were just 2 or 3 percent short on the last guy. One of the three first bosses seems to hit a lot harder than the other two. We spent most of the time there because we couldn't get a single burn phase off with the break bar regenerating super fast. The others played better. We did a second run after with 6 and the everything was about the same in terms of HP and how hard it hit - so I don't think it scales down for 2 ... or scales up for 6. Would say I found it easier with 2 than say Lost Precipice but I don't think its easily doable for small 2/3 player guilds.
  23. Same here and there is another in Seitung where the NPC is missing too. Do you have story completed? I was holding onto the theory that they might show up once the story is done.
