  1. You are probably dismounting, which counts as a weapon swap. This activates let loose, so it puts both the weapon swap ambush and untamed ambush on cooldown.
  2. How do you propose we hurt someone nonphysically then. What happens when you jade someone or void someone to death? Does their skin burn? Do they suffer mental damage?
  3. Do you always have permanent quickness in every encounter in open world or every trash mob in fractals? I mean yes if the spirits never died it would be very smooth cause you only have to cast it once. It’s the double casting that feels horrible. If they want to rework the spirits to never die, then thats fine too but unless you want them to be like pulsing auras, they will have to die eventually. The summoning process, however, is very clunky. On untamed its a part of your rotation and having to cast it over and over feels like having to recast old firebrand mantras. Back then firebrands had to recast mantras every time they entered a new map, right now rangers have to recast spirits at every encounter.
  4. Firebrands previously got a quality of life update which made mantras always ready without needing to be precasted and it is great. It made using mantras feel smooth and not like a chore. On the other hand, spirits are still clunky to use. You have to go through a long animation to cast the spirit, then wait a second or two of cooldown before you have to cast it again, then you have to wait for it to activate its effect. It is so long. They are also needed when playing druids or untamed, or when you want to give alacrity. The concept of spirits is so cool and I always kit them when I can. I love being able to support teammates with them, but using them is such a pain. Can we make it so the spirit uses its skill on its initial summon. That's honestly all I ask. Make it so it's summoned and use its effect in one button during its initial summon, instead of two clicks with long delays between them.
  5. Of course no boon dps build will do as much as their full dps counterpart. You have to compare it to other boon dps builds. The nature magic trait has bountiful hunter to lower the trade off of switching out of a dps trait. Diviner’s gear is also more stat effective for being four stats instead of a three stat set. Other boon dps builds have to take diviners or ritualists so I don’t see why it would be the deal breaker here. The main bulk of the soulbeast damage is still here, you still have ferocious pet stats, soul beast elite spec stats, sic em, whirling defense, owp, longbow and axe skills. Of course you’re gonna lose some stats in exchange for being a buffer but why would you go full dps if you don’t. The trade offs are particularly minimized because the soulbeast dps comes in bursts and all the important skills are still there.
  6. It’s the same as regular powerbeast, but we take diviner’s gear, give up one spec for nature magic, and take three spirits. We can still use sic em and one wolf pack and cast the spirits when the burst is on cooldown. I feel like the problem would be spirits dying, but is this a valid option for dps alacrity that can be taken with heal brand?
  7. I would definitely support a dps counter of some kind. Without a dps for scale the numbers that pop up on screen mean nothing. For example take a druid staff and auto attack, the damage number is going to be huge even tho the dps is negligible. I buildcraft a bit and I don’t know if build A is better than build B because the damage bubbles are so useless without overall dps. The only way to tell is how fast it feels to kill a monster and thats such an inaccurate metric.

  10. I agree, having the dps or ranger draw more more aggro than other people makes little sense in any mmorpg. This is doubly so when most of the ranger’s mechanics are flanking and attacking from a long distance. I feel like this is an oversight on anet’s part, and I hope they change it.
  11. It’s because spammy gameplay is usually more fun. A lot of people don’t enjoy pressing one button over and over and saving the rest just in case of a niche situation. It happens in this game, and it happens in other games like league of legends. Over there, champions that can use more buttons over a short amount of time gets a much larger fanbase, even if they aren’t as effective or reliable compared to slower, easier to play champions. A lot of games also try to simplify a lot of buttons to make it more streamlined, but it just becomes boring. Pressing more buttons just feels more active.

But also they have higher damage, much higher healing, definitely better burst healing, access to a lingering projectile block, boon strip, and stability. They also already do have access to regen and protection. Druids also don’t have glyphs anymore. Hmm? Where do Renegades get regen and protection from?You can also take Spirit Boon from invocation for regen and retaliation on legend swap. You may have to forgo assassin’s presence for it, but you get access to easy stun break and extra energy. Or you can also replace salvation, but you’ll lose out on healing power. This is similar to how druid loses out on their healing, which they are forced to do, if they want to give might.

  14. If ventari gets those boons, then they’ll just be a straight up better version of druid. I mean it kind of already is, but still.

  16. Thank you so much for this thread. I agree with every one of your points. I legit think that no one on the balance team wants to even think about rangers. Balance updates rarely happen, but when they do its like rangers don’t even exist. Usually some irrelevant thing gets changed/nerfed so that they can write something in the section. Like i’m pretty sure they’re doing everything they can to make sure that ranger’s shouts are commands for some reason. Does anyone even care? I feel like rangers have been neglected for the longest time, but it keeps on getting dismissed. Is there any way to make the balance team care about rangers?
  17. Hahahahahaha. Nice joke. General player quality is depressing to be honest. Of 10 times doing T4 pugs you might get a decent group once (twice, if lucky), where everyone knows what they are doing and you one-shot every encounter and are done with all 3 fractals in 20-35 minutes depending on the daily fractal. And when’s the last time you did T3? If you get a decent group 1/10 times in T4, then you get a decent group 1/100 times in T3.
  18. For all the people who keep saying boon strip, how about every class get access to boon strip first? Even then by that logic, every monster in the game can have 25 might, perma fury, and protection, but it's okay, cause some people can boon strip.
  19. Druids are horrible right now. I mained druid for the longest time, and I love the theme so much. I tried to make it fun for so long in open world and fractals with so many different builds, did word completion and all my story quests on it, but the class itself feels very limiting. It’s damage is weak, and it can’t scale well due to the pet. The heals are slow and weaker than other classes, and its utility is limited now after all the nerfs. I stayed with druid for so long and have advocated for it hoping that it’ll get some love one day, but have recently switched over to firebrand because honestly I don’t think anyone at anet even cares about druid anymore. For once I don’t have to feel frustrated about being neglected. The firebrand is just way more fun, fluid, and has a lot more utility. I am actually dealing some real damage now, and the team supports are more active rather than passive. It has way more build paths and the traits and synergy actually feel powerful. You can try to make druids if you really want to, but honestly just avoid the frustration and build an elementalist if u want to heal a lot or firebrand or renegade if you want to support while dealing damage or have hybrid healing. They’re just more fun and more sought after in any content outside of raids.

  22. Hi, as a druid main who doesn't do raids, it feels bad that I am getting told to switch to something else for fractals. People tell me that classes like firebrand, renegade, and scourge can provide more utility and heals while playing for their off role and still deal more damage. With alacrigade comps being meta, its very rare to find mesmers to extend our boons. Also druids can't really build for better damage due to their pets and their elite spec focusing on healing traits (while still healing less and dealing less damage apparently). Other healers can heal while dealing damage but druids can't due to celestial avatar. Recently druids have been gutted for wvw, pvp, and fractals, and are notoriously bad for open world due to lack of cleave and lower pet stats. Can we bring back glyph of empowerment for the last thing that we have (unique buffs), or rework druids or something? Perhaps make the pets scale with druid stats so that we can have some proper scaling. It feels so bad to be excluded from basically every game mode except raids.
  23. A druid is an elite spec focused entirely on being a healer. If another spec can off-role and be a better healer than the dedicated healer class then something is clearly wrong.
