  1. Definitely not axe for me. They REFUSE TO FIX the stealth attack on deadeye being a blast finisher when it's supposed to be among OTHER axe bugs. I was once excited for new builds, now I just quit and am on ESO which Bethesda is a more competent dev balance team that actually gives a rats butt. Good game swap. Why release a new weapon, disregard feedback/nerf it too much then fully neglect anything about it? Meansi have to stick with more class and class weapon neglect with watered down boring stale builds we've always ran through the years...shortbow, sword, p/p, staff dd...all boring and played until I became jaded...not worth it for me, personally, but if you find that you enjoy thief, come back....If you notice what I've noticed through the years, come to eso with me instead
  2. Any build one axe thief isn't a build its a gasp for a lastbreathe. Willbender will negate all of this and stealth doesn't negate damage it negates targeting and target required skills. Question though, do you not post often at all or is this an alt account? Just hard to take what you state without a grain of salt considering you only have like 4-5 posts regarding your credibility
  3. Thief is not the most mobile class as a few years ago and up to recent willbender. A willbender has all the pros and barely any cons. Heavy armor, high dmg condi or power, boon support and inv phases with blocks plus endless kiting. U can get ganked by a willbender in a zerg and unless the allies near you act, that little kitten can shoot off faster than a bottle rocket and you can do nothing
  4. See, you are a great example of what I and a few others maining thief go through. We've explained till blue in the face exactly what u have experienced to no avail and it's said it's been this way. Onlyspecific builds of thief really work well and even then they are stale and wayyy old to keep playing them despite new weapons and supposed changes or adjustments meant to grow thief interest but it's not enough. Axe isn't even that good tbh. Why would I, personally, come back for a new weapon just to watch it turn out crappier then what we had? It's exactly why some of us put thief or the game down (if you only played thief like myself). We need more people like you to try out thief and see your point in this thread. We're not overpowered at all, rare circumstances only. Otherwise every other class will dunk on us everytime as far as advantageous growth. Jack if all trades, master of none

  6. With the announcement of Guild Wars 3 in development or whatever the case may be has me a bit worried for the development of all classes not just thief in general. I wonder where the workforce will be tied to after things start picking up with a development. Makes me really worry
  7. I wouldnt mind having it previous change AND the NEW change as an add on effect. would make things a bit more fun

  10. like heavy hitting, heavy armored, high health, high damage gank willbenders that flip the bird at everyone attempting to chase him off faster than a charr car tactic would in wvw. will bender is better at everything, but in the end thief gets shafted so anet's love child (guardian)[willbender] overexcels in everything thief used to do superiorly. stealth and shadows steps are practically negated due to high initiative costs for kiting, rifle in wvw got initiative increase to 3/4 for deaths advance and retreat, pvp got it entirely shafted, infiltrators arrow is no longer meta way to get away, we cant really 1 shot most classes in wvw anymore due to the boon and celestail metas, if so we have to do 2 chain backstabs or hs spam, specter initiative base being reduced and then promised to adjust never came, the shroud on specter is a joke, has no damage mitigation in wvw and 2 hits you are out of shroud so no sense in camping in it long since you wont be able to get more than 1 or 2 skills off within shroud...the list goes on and on & i miss old balance team....they knew what they wanted thief to be but evidently didnt pass on this knowledge and intention do the new balance team...also miss Double Tap, he was active here and made us feel listened to but he also got shafted because of his love for thief and other things
  11. unfortunately its not the case, you have to expend high initiative cost just to kite at which point you are drained after attempting to kite. then you can do nothing but blow dodges. all of these things can be done if you took nothing but stealth utilities and shadowsteps but you sacrifice too much with specter to do it. you are even shrunk initiative wise because you lose 3 initiative when taking specter making trickery required just to barely do anything which still isnt enough in the end. shroud isnt worth it in pvp because you can NOt stay in shroud at all once you get tickled....literally low dmg makes it disappear so you never get a chance to stay in it at all. stack on the fact that: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Blighter's_Boon#Notes would be similar to Larcenous Torment its not.. because thief gets hate
  12. instead of stealth, make shadow arts and all other would be-access stealth access just give evasion during the normal durations of stealth, then give stealth attacks as flipovers when we get stealth (in this case evasions) sort of how mirage cloak works with evasion. there would have to be heavy buffs and changes to help sustain builds but also give benefits of "while in stealth" to "after or during evasions (not dodges)" effects instead. this would stop the stealthing crap, give survivability this way but also open the door to more acrobatic trait lines.
  13. for certain gamemodes, i would say its fair choice. for spvp, nope not ever just had a heavy nerf to rifle and wvw is basically back to what weapons we already had because no one likes axe right now within wvw, users that is.
  14. dang, been a while. xD yeah it happened with inf arrow and now rifle in pvp. slap me with a crash dummy outfit because thats how i feel its good and fits in gw2 rn
  15. Yet they keep butchering the class to the point metrics for thief playerbase is going to drop. I say we alt for a month and see if they get freaked out more or altogether quit for 1 month on thief and see if they squeeze

  17. seems like they are lying about patch notes and thinking thieves will overlook this....this is 2nd time patch notes arent reflective of what was done since march 1st
  18. they did the same to shortbow a while back, cant really do anything for kiting on infiltrators arrow. the changes to deaths retreat and advance are yet, another anti kite/chase nerf
