  1. To preface, I'm a long-time player, but I've recently had to take a break due to an injury in my forearms that has made it difficult to game. I've started to try to get back in the game by using creative control strategies - namely, voice recognition as a keyboard replacement, and a "head tracking" mouse that allows me to move the mouse by moving my head. It's been a struggle learning something new, but honestly I don't feel like I'm at a huge disadvantage in most aspects. Accurate movement is so far the hardest thing for me. This works fine in-game, but the one area I struggle with is move
  2. Those open world bosses are the ones I was primarily referring to in my post. I just used the sniper example because I couldn't think of a good boss example to use off-hand without actually logging in and doing a boss. I was doing the sandswept isles meta, and the two bosses in the specimen chamber were pretty bad. It wasn't so much that I was dying, but that I had to dodge basically every 3 seconds because they constantly spam knockdowns or heavy attacks. I was extremely lucky if I could get off my main damage skill without being knocked down during the channel.
  3. It's definitely easy to see if there's one of them, but if there are 2-4 of them in an area, which is pretty typical, it can be near-impossible to keep track of all of them. Especially if you're focusing on another monster and don't notice that there's two snipers mixed in with all the other monsters/players. I don't have a problem with them if I see them and focus them, but if there's one hiding in a group of monsters I'm dead before I know what hit me.
  4. I am - for my classes all of the top PvE/PvP builds are basically glass builds, and I didn't want to make another open-world set (mostly just because my inventory can't handle the space). I could move out of the way, but there's a balance: if I'm out of range, I'm not doing dps or helping in any way, but if I go into range I do some damage but die. For example, with the fire boss in the current event: what's been happening is I'll use my movement skill to lunge at him, then usually within 1-2 hits he will do a knockdown teleport, blow me into the lava and I'll die. I don't think I've been a
  5. I feel like this game has too many one-shot mechanics. I'm not talking so much about fractals, raids, etc, but more just in the open world! In fractals and raids, most of the fights have defined mechanics and telegraphed attacks. Some may be difficult to avoid or learn, but they're there. I find that in a lot of the open world content, there are bosses or monsters that basically one-shot you constantly with no rhyme, reason, or warning. There are others that are nearly impossible to melee (go in, hit the boss 1 time if that, run away before he does his close-range aoe, repeat). A few exam
  6. The key I meant is the key of greater nightmares, which isn't counted as a currency. I have considered a bank expansion, but it's sooo many gems, and there are so many other things I want that are less expensive. I'll buy it if the frustration outweighs my desire for the lute or griffon mount! How many slots come with a bank tab expansion? Is it the same number of slots as the regular tab? My bank is super-small, so I'd rather buy the 6th inventory slot over a bank tab if its the same size its one extra tab in the bank, but if you have all your hcaracters slots maxed out and need moreWhat

  9. The more I play the game, the more I'm facing my toughest challenge yet: inventory wars! Right now I have 5 20-slot bags, so I do have a little room to expand, but I'm honestly not sure how much it would help. I've got 20 slots reserved for alternate gear so I can swap between condi/power builds, I've got silverwaste keys/shovels/maps, I've got ley-anomoly finders and seekers and trinkets and baubles galore! I've got teleport to friend, black lion merchants and tickets, gold fractal tickets and black lion chests! There's bloodstone batteries, and energy crystals, and bloodstone dust pourin
  10. Thanks - that was actually really helpful, and helped me pull an extra 5k dps on golem after trying it. Part of it was that I didn't really understand the "why" of the rotation, but yours was a lot easier to follow as to why each skill was used in the order.
  11. Same here. It worked for me earlier today, but now it is not working anymore.
  12. I have both a guardian and a warrior. With the berserker, firebrand, and dragon hunter dps rotations, they make sense and I'm able to do fine with them. With power warrior/spellbreaker rotations, my dps seems to be horrible though and I can't figure out why! I'm following the rotations on the snowcrows site to the letter, but I'm only able to hit 23k dps tops on golem. That's from just staying axe/axe and using a super-simple rotation too - any time I try to make it complicated and replicate all the little details they suggest my dps drops down to ~19k. It's the same in raids - if I run p
  13. My current guild is taking an extended break from raiding, and I am interested in finding another guild that I can regularly raid with. I'm not super-experienced with raids, but I've done most of the wing 1-4 bosses at least once, and have done several full clears of wings 1 and 4. I usually play banner warrior, but I also have a firebrand/dragonhunter that are also in full ascended gear. My biggest requirement is timing: I'm only consistently available to raid on Mon, Tues, and Wednesday nights (I'm EST time zone). Every guild I've looked at thus far either raids only on the weekends, or
  14. I play both a warrior and firebrand in fractals. Honestly, I enjoy the firebrand a lot more, just because it has a few more survivability options (and tends to do major dps without even trying). On my warrior, it's really easy to die if I'm not on top of things.
  15. That's assuming you've been playing since launch. I only just came back to the game a few months ago, so I don't have nearly as much of a head start as many players. Also, I generally only do two raids a week with my group based on how much time I have available to play (Spirit Vale and Bastion), so that's only 8LI per week, which would take 6 months to hit 200LI if I don't miss a raid. I pretty much know those two raids like the back of my hand, and those are the two I try to join pug groups for. That kind of makes my point that you can have over 200 LI and a kill point on a boss like Dh
