  1. Noticed that just now and came here to check if that has already been reported. This was basically the first thing I noticed after starting the game, as I can never have enough storage and the bundle was the first thing I checked out.
  2. I have never seen any such offer and I just checked and no such offer exists. Also keep in mind that Kinguin is not a store, but a storefront like Ebay or Aliexpress. There is only one single seller of GW2 gold on Kinguin by the name of x (I won't write it here) and they only sell gold, no game keys. Vice versa, the other sellers who sell game keys do not offer any gold, so I have no idea where you took your info from. The only likely explanation I can think of is that you saw a "you might also be interested in" offer and mistook that for a "bundle". And while I absolutely agree that everyone should stay away from RMT and not buy gold, assuming that keys sold on kinguin are from stolen accounts is far fetched. If you "steal" an account you have account login data and not a game key to redeem. PS: About the original question: This code will not work on steam. And there is no benefit from buying the steam version either to you or to ArenaNet. The one profiting is steam by getting a 30% cut for doing basically nothing. You not only screw yourself over by not being able to use any key you might win in a giveaway on twitch or something like that, you also deprive ArenaNet of 30% of your spent money. In my opinion if you like the game enough to buy it, you should like it enough to buy it in a way that lets the developer get the full amount.
  3. There are countless topics on this for a decade but many people still do not know the actual ruling. And no, going afk anywhere is not against the rules as long as you are actually afk and did NOT automate your character to perform any action, including setting up any skill as autocast like many of those afk farmers do, for example necro greatsword skill 4. AFK doing nothing = always ok. However if your character takes any action while you are AFK, that is where it can enter the forbidden area depending on the other circumstances. Quoting a post by Chris Cleary, Game Security Lead in 2016:
  4. Never saw this before. The account already has all episodes of living world season 4 unlocked, but the store offers to sell the season pack at a 89% discount with all episodes except for episode 1 removed from the pack. Normally the season pack should not be visible at all for an account that already has every episode of that season unlocked. Image of the offer
  5. For about roughly a year or so (the only thing I remember is that it started happening directly after a patch) my launcher behaves the following way: I start the launcher, enter my username/password if they are not already there, then press "Log in" button. In about 95% of cases I then get the red error box saying the game lost connection to the server, in 5% cases the game starts normally. Now, in those 95% of cases that I get the error box (Error Code: 7:1000:7006:468) the SECOND attempt to login is 100% successful. So for about a year or more now, whenever I log into the game, I have to enter my data twice because the first login almost always fails and the second always works. Even when both boxes to remember the data are ticked, I can NOT simply press the button again because although the checkbox for remembering the password is ticked, it will not remember it because the login didn't work. Does anyone have any experience with this weird error or know details about Error Code: 7:1000:7006:468? I googled it and there was only one result claiming it is about wrong time/date setting, which is not the case as a) it is set correctly b) if that was the error then the second attempt would not work either.
  6. Same here, the addition to the gemstore that was mentioned in the patch notes does not seem to have gone through.
  7. It is entirely possible to get silver with a rented beetle without any mastery and even completely without drifting - which is exactly what I did in the first year when I simply did not understand yet how to drift AND did not have the beetle unlocked. Probably took like 1-2 hours practice to figure out where to use the boost and what wall to slam into instead of drifting. And I actually did make a video back then just to prove someone wrong who claimed it would not be possible without drift 🙂 It's here. And to answer the original question from the headline: Oh yes, I had fun with the beetle from hour zero, no matter where. I did not get gold with my rented "noobeetle" but I didn't have to. It was easy enough the second year when I had my real one and knew how drifting works.
  8. The discount was announced for two days and lasted only one. I am also affected by this, as I specifically bought a gemcard for a friend because of the discount so that she would have enough gems to buy living stories season 2-4. When she came home today and logged in, the discount was gone after only one day. I think this is definitely something the people should have the right to complain about and I hope they notice that they made a mistake and the discount lasted only half the time it was supposed to, so that they relaunch it tomorrow along with the other discount that had a problem (the template expansion that didn't go live). Edit: Update was just posted, the discount will be repeated because it ended early
  9. She isn't on steam, she started the game because of me and I made sure she has a proper account and not a steam account 🙂
  10. Yes about the same here. I bought a gemcard for a friend who just started the game and has HoT and PoF. because of the discount I wanted to gift her the Living World seasons 2-4 this way and told her she would only need my 2000 gems plus an additional 240 gems...when she came online 2 hours ago she told me all the seasons are only there for full price 😕
  11. What about the living world seasons, they were supposed to be discounted sunday and monday but they are not. I hear they WERE discounted at some time (?) but it seems only on sunday? Or they ended too soon?
  12. I kind agree with the general idea - of making competitive jumping activities available outside of festivals. People who like to PvP can do that every day, same for those playing WvW, raids, fractals, strike missions, open world PvE. But those who like competitive jumping/racing can't. When you love beetle races you technically can do time trials daily - on your own. The competitive races on a timer give no reward at all, why? And competitive jumping is only available in festivals, again, why? There might be the concern that when something is offered all year, it may lose its appeal. But other content is not limited to just some weeks per year and there are people doing it every day. I would welcome giving rewards for racing and adding some competitive jumping activity that is available during non-festival time.
  13. With great solutions come great prices, that's the saying that was told to Spiderman, right? ^^ Also there are not a great amount of wireless chargeable mice and none of them compare with the sidebuttons of mine 😑 Looks like most ads I saw for those charging pads target phone/earbud charging, not mouse charging.
  14. I highly recommend the Zelotes C-12 that I listed as being attached to many of the machines in my earlier post. It is the only one of its kind that I know of. It does not plaster the whole left side of the mouse with buttons like the others do, but arrange 6 buttons in an oval around where you hold the mouse with your thumb (at least I hold it that way). This way you can hold the mouse firmly without constantly accidentally press on of the 10 or 12 buttons on the side, but still have 6 convenienty located programmable buttons for your thumb to reach. When you only have 6 buttons arranged in an oval, it is also much easier to press the correct one than on a wall of 12 ones. I bound them to the 6 different mounts I most often use. Previously I had all the mounts bound, but now I miss one, kitten you Skyscale, lol. PS: Also it is wired. I hate wireless mice and depleted batteries ^^
  15. Noticed the same thing, and agree it is inconvenient. I get WvW dailies shown even on an alt account where the highest character that I am currently leveling is 23 (and cannot enter WvW yet) 🙂
  16. It's easy to dismiss the point of properly understanding language and facts as "semantics". They are not. They are asked for gems, which can be earned ingame. The fact that the gems themselves optionally can be bought with money if you WANT that, does not equal them asking for money. Actually nobody does. Point me to a single post of someone fighting against ArenaNet being more clear. People are fighting against false claims that the episodes "cost money", or that ArenaNets practices are unlawful. Or other baseless speculations like the majority of new players leaving the game over this or people leaving massive amounts of negative feedback on steam. They don't. If gems would only be available by buying them with real money, I would even agree with you, because then gems would effectively equal money. But they don't. Play the game -> earn the content. Gems are for the lazy, the impatient, the people who don't have enough time to play, the people who want instant gratification, the people who want more things than the are able to earn ingame, the people who just have enough money to spend it on things they want instead of earning it. Which is totally fine, I am not bashing people buying gems, I did it in the past just a few times. But they are never mandatory and ArenaNet is never requiring you to spend real money after you bought the expansions. And I never came to the forums to complain how much of a ripoff it is that I am paying for a game and then "have to" spend "even more money" to get appropriate storage space or character slots. Because nobody "has to". Also, it's not like a new player does not have MASSIVE amounts of other content to go through first before even reaching the living story. When living world season 2 was released in 2014, people already had played the game for TWO YEARS. PS: I am noticing that this is going in circles and no matter what, more people will come and say the same things like before, so I promise this is my last post in this thread 🙂
  17. Unlock means you make the content available. The episodes are content that is bought. When you dont have the corresponding expansions you CAN NOT play them. When they are unlocked, you can play them (of course after you bought them). It is exactly the same as ALL other content in the expansion that will be unlocked by purchasing the expansion and then earned in the game, which is what I described in detail. Like you unlock MOUNTS by purchasing the expansion, but then you have to work for them in game and partly even buy them for a lot of gold (Griffon costs 250g). Just because the purchase of Path of Fire unlocked mounts for you does not entitle you to use mounts without earning/paying for them, and likewise the unlocking of the living world episodes does not entitle you to play them without paying for them. Why is this such a difficult concept, I really don't get it. Why do so many people feel entitled to play the episodes that have to be purchased for free, but nobody feels entitled to get the griffon for free despite mounts also being "unlocked".
  18. It seems that I answered to a post which was subsequently removed (I am not surprised as that post accused ArenaNet of a practice punishable by law). As my post was lost because of the two lines of the offending post being quoted (I should probably avoid quoting stuff like that in the future) I'll state it here again in short form. The expansions are unlocking every content in the game. UNLOCKING does not equal PROVIDING. The purchase of the expansions unlocks EVERYTHING the game has to offer. Many things have to be bought in the game to use them, like additional bag slots, bank slots, character slots etc. Others have to be earned by completing achievements, sometimes taking many days (hello legendary trinkets, hello Skyscale). Some even want you to complete multiple achievements AND pay for them in addition, like the Griffon. Yet others are earned by gaining XP to level a mastery, or by completing certain story steps. The living world episodes are no different. They are content episodes that are unlocked with the purchase of the expansions but still need to be earned by buying them ingame.
  19. Like everything else, play the game and get the gold, convert the gold to the needed amount of gems. Every single thing that exists in the game can be earned without real money after you bought the expansion that the content is in.
  20. Nah, "arguing" only once is enough. And your claim that "most new players will leave" is simply made up. With the game doing great and gaining lots of new players, the actual numbers prove you not only wrong but horribly wrong. Some handful of disgruntled people venting on the forum doesn't mean new people leave the game in droves, much less "most" of them. PS: Seeing that you felt the need to make three posts in a row, I gladly leave the "all you want" part to you.
  21. Unlike the expansions, the living world episodes were never even for sale for real money. Paying for them with money by buying additional gems is for people who want gratification with no effort, like every other gemstore item. If you don't want that, it is perfectly fine to just play the game until you get the gold needed and convert to gems. That's what the system is for. And like others already stated, with the 4000 gems you get you can unlock almost everything at once anyway. Anyway, despite the living world episodes not even costing real money, it would be perfectly normal if they did. Giving ALL of them away for free for only logging in when they are released is not. The only other game I know of that is this generous is Minion Masters by Betadwarf. They are f2p like GW2, they have two basic upgrades unlocking stuff and then they have lots of DLC released over time, currently 13 in total, each for $14.99. But all of them were totally free when you claimed them on their release weekend. PS: I find all these compalints real stupid. By the same logic of complaining about episodes costing "money" everybody could have complained that you have to buy the griffon mount for "money". Because instead of playing the game to collect the 250 needed gold you could just as well buy gems and convert them to the needed gold. Seems like most people are unable to notice that these things are just the exact same thing - you CAN spend real money to get something in the game, but you don't have to.
  22. This thread beginning in a rant about a problem that does not really exist from the game client side was really intriguing 🙂 So I got interested and decided to test this on all the machines I have... TL,DR: Binding shift+F8 worked on every single machine. List of what I tested: Desktops: -Win7 on custom built 2008 PC originally on Win XP, standard ancient keyboard with DIN plug without Windows keys, Zelotes C-12 USB mouse -Win7 on Shuttle XPC SZ77R5, standard Fujitsu/Siemens SC USB keyboard, Zelotes C-12 USB Mouse -Win10 Home on custom built 2014 PC originally on Win7 Home, standard Logitech K120 USB Keyboard, Zelotes C-12 USB Mouse -Win7 on Dell Optiplex 7010, standard Saitek PK06 USB keyboard, WFirst x10000 USB Mouse -Win10 Pro on Dell Optiplex 7010 originally on Win7, ancient Silicon Graphics PS/2 keyboard without Windows keys, Zelotes C-12 USB mouse The last entry tested successfully on the local game client as well as when playing remotely on Geforce Now. Btw. as a pure office PC, this machine only has a Radeon HD7470 which has 1GB ram and runs on 27 Watts and it still did 30fps 1080p on local client (and 60fps obviously on the free Geforce Now account). After it worked on any configuration I didn't want to wait with posting until the game installed on the 2 laptops I can test it on, so I left those out now. In the unlikely case that it does not work on one of them once the game is installed, I'd update this post 😉 I suspect that some software on the OPs PC interferes, possibly some mouse- or keyboard software but could be anything that is related to keyboard input in any way.
  23. Nobody is forced to participate. If in week 3 you find an event "stale" then just don't go there anymore instead of trying to take week 3 away from all the people who enjoy it. The game caters for casual people / people who can not play all the time in many aspects, and this is just one more of them. Asking for a change that actually benefits noone is unreasonable. It's not like these weeks you cut out of existing events would in any way be needed for new events to be introduced - there is plenty of time for new events still without making old ones shorter.
  24. I love beetle racing and it is sad that the content is not worked on - like SO many other things in GW2 that get intoduced and then abandoned. I would wish for more guildhall racetrack decoration pieces, things that people can use to build awesome tracks without resorting to use out of place "workaround decorations". Start and finish lines, race start displays, placeable things that lets you start a time trial like at the tracks in the open world etc. They still add a new guildhall per expansion, but what you can actually DO in there is not being worked on sadly. Other than a few decorations (in addition to the racetrack decorations at beetle release) there has not been anything noteworthy happening to guildhalls, that is really a shame. I would pay for a beetle racing guildhall expansion kit in the gemstore without hesitation if that would let me set up real actual racetracks with the appropriate mechanics instead of just placing some decorations (which still take very long to get if you don't have many people contributing and still want to build a good track).
  25. Sorry it is common sense. You bought a glider skin without having a glider. It clearly says "this will unlock the glider skin in your account wardrobe". It does not say "this will unlock a glider". There is no bait and switch. It does EXACTLY what it says when you buy it, the glider skin is now unlocked and you can use it as soon as you can use gliders. When you go into a store and buy cute baby clothes without having made the baby yet, you will also not be able to use them btw.
