  1. The Serious Potion description says "Can be used to overwrite any currently active foolish enhancements and get back to business." By 'any', I wonder if this means it can overwrite those Aviator's Memory Boxes? I don't have a Box, so I wanted to ask if anyone would be willing to try this potion on it and post their results. Thanks!
  2. A certain change experienced by some charr a couple of years ago has been investigated by the asura. Nothing bad could possibly result.
  3. Very nice to see the Fashion Wars stage has been brought back to LA so we can enjoy all the of longness 😄
  4. This was a well-done prank webpage, but TBH I really would like to see more about the Largos lol
  5. Interesting Korean articles, thanks for posting them. I hope ArenaNet takes all the things they have been learning over the years with GW2 and uses them well in GW3. Another Hall of Monuments type of rollover would be great.
  6. Thanks for adjusting the Gobbler so quick :) The details behind the cause are also really appreciated! Also glad to see the Guild Hall population bug was fixed, we always seemed to get that whenever our small guild would try to meet in the hall lol
  7. I hope this was unintentional, I was really happy to see the Candy Corn Gobbler updated to be so much more useable. It would be a shame if a nerf made it not worth using.
  8. TIL that lighting these lanterns is an alternate way to get the zone Gifts - I had no idea! I made a Gen3 and wanted to make more so I figured it was like the previous versions of legendary weapons and I had a couple of alts complete the EoD zones the old way. I really didn't enjoy doing all those darn Hearts over again and I'm glad this is another method. I'll certainly be planning to make more legendary weapons than I originally intended now that I know I can just light the lanterns. I just wish I knew about this before I had those alts do it the old way (thanks to Mukluk for his video on Gen3 weapons). Also thanks to the folks on this thread for their hints and pointing out the lanterns need to be done by characters who have done map completion the old way. I have more than I need of *those* now.
  9. More weirdness with this bug. I did not do the HP for a week with the character having the issue (Character A in my posts above), but when I bring in yet another character (let's call them Character C), they are getting HP chest for defeating Tsuko once a day. So I do the HP with Character A and usually get nothing, and then a minute later try it with another character and get the chest. It seems that all of my other characters are able to get the HP chest consistently except Character A, who usually doesn't get the chest and once in a while might get it. Maybe it's because Character A is Elementalist? We all know how Anet loves to torture eles lol
  10. Just wanted to say thank you for pointing this out, I hadn't realized you could disable that darn thing. I've been using invisible bags for organizing on several of my characters, but not all of them and that Compact button just got me. I understand its utility, I just wish I found that disable option sooner.
  11. The Sanctum of Kormir was one of the most beautiful set pieces in this game filled with great settings and locations. Unfortunately, it was turned into the Dark Library in LS4 and although the wiki claims it was reclaimed, we don't get to see that. When my characters return to the portal to it in the Tomb of Primeval Kings, the place is still messed up and overrun with demons. Since we're fighting demons in SoTO, it seems like it would be really nice if there could be a side-quest where players could finally kick them all out (even if it's out of chronological order, the thing is in the Mists so that shouldn't matter). It would be cool to have access the original Sanctum again.
  12. This is helpful and useful information, thank you. So is this the Unstable Magic Ability - Sniper mechanic? The wiki for that entry does not say anything about a green circle/yellow arrow graphic. Is this a different mechanic? Or are we supposed to figure all this out from yet another, miniscule 10 pixel wide box on the condition/boon bar that Anet expects us to notice buried with 20+ other boxes while trying to make sense of the completely obscuring spell/ability FX in mass combats? (I really detest needing to track insta-kill conditions like that, I want to play the game not play some user interface) That's unfortunate if true. That bug would be teaching players to do the wrong thing since trial and error is the only way to figure these mechanics and ArenaNet still haven't managed to get away from their GW1 tradition of not explaining their game systems adequately.
  13. I have been experiencing this bug for a long time too, and I just discovered that it is character-specific. I did this HP with one character (let's call them Character A) who usually tries the HP, and they succeeded but did not get the chest even though I waited 24 hours since trying it. (This is the bug I usually see) I then logged in with another character (Character B) and after doing the HP again a minute later, they did receive the chest. I do not have this issue with another character I have parked by a different HP in New Kaineg. I have had no problems getting the chest reward each day on that character. Perhaps the Diminishing Returns for Character A is not being reset for this specific HP? Or it could be something else, Character A seems to randomly get the chest after the HP without any noticeable pattern. I am going to start doing the HP each day with Character B and see what happens.
  14. I wanted to necro-resurrect this old thread because I only just realized that ANet added a bunch of new ways to get Grandmaster Mark Shards. As I mention in my first post, previously we could only get 3 Shard a week - one for each of the final tiers of bronze, silver and gold Skirmish reward chests. Now we can also get them through through assault/defense event participation of towers, keeps and SMC. I'm sure this was announced somewhere but I missed it. I see that have been getting more Shards from WvW, I just never really noticed how many as I was throwing them into the bank until I did my end of the year clean up lol This is a great improvement and it's good to see ArenaNet fixed this awful time-block. Rewarding Shards for WvW event participation is a great idea. Now it's looking like I actually will be crafting the WvW Ascended Armor and then some of the WvW legendary pieces. Combining those with some of the SoTO legendary armor pieces once we can make them., and it looks like it will be End Game Fashion Wars ahead!
  15. I was talking with my guildmates about the look of the High Kryptis and we wondered if any artists at ArenaNet might have found inspiration from the manga artist Go Nagai who did the classic Devilman comics. The Kryptis are more fleshy and creepy, but they really have that vibe.
  16. I have really been enjoying the SotO campaign now that I've finally had time to start it. The story missions have been fun and well-designed so far. Of particular note was the initial camp spying mission, I usually hate ANet stealth missions but one in the camp was nicely balanced with good mechanics (e.g. using a costume to blend in, and resetting the suspicion bar by hiding in bushes).. The first map is very beautiful and fun to navigate. I need to look into the details of the map metas but I've been able to take part and have fun doing them. The storyline is very interesting and it is great to see more exploration of the world's existing lore. The alternate-reality/fractal concept is very interesting, and it would be intriguing to see more realities. I still have to see how the new mechanics work out, but overall I'm glad I bought this expansion and I hope ANet continues in this style with them. Also
  17. I had a question - I have an alt-account I bought a while back (I don't even remember why now), and I surprised to notice the Daily tasks are different for that alt- account than they are for my main account. Does every person in game have different Daily tasks? Does this apply for Weekly and Special tasks as well? Sorry if this has already been noticed, but if this is the case, it is a ridiculous change. People should be able to log in with friends and do their Dailies *together*. Assigning different tasks to each account eliminates that shared experience. Also I very much disagree with removing WvW potions, but mostly because I never agreed with the implementation of the Gift of Battle (or PvP requirements) to 'induce' people to play WvW. Now I love WvW - it is the GW2 game mode I enjoy the most by far, but I don't want to be playing WvW with people who hate it and are only doing that game mode because designers think making players doing something they hate somehow improves gameplay. The real issue is that there should be an option to not need to do WvW or PvP or ANY activity a players does not find it entertaining. The great strength of MMOs is appealing to a broad range of players, not trying to push them into gameplay they don't want to do.
  18. I'm interested in seeing how the rewards and numbers work out, right now I don't feel there is enough details to decide one way or another, but I think the general vision they have could be something that could work better compared to other examples of battlepasses that have been done.
  19. It would great to see this and a nice use for all those weird color dyes that are usually never touched since 'tacky' is a common color choice for swimsuits lol
  20. I wanted to second this suggestion. I don't even bother farming the node in my instance, it feels like it was a waste.
  21. I've been enjoying this WvW beta for what it's worth. I had some initial crashing but it seemed to clear up. The new rewards are nice and there's been some decent action over the weekend. Late weekdays things have died down, but that's to expected. I don't have any complaints about the matchmaking that I've seen, but I'm sure ANet is looking at the data and seeing where issues are cropping up. I do wish the new WvW vendor offered more goods that didn't require Skirmish Claim tickets which are the real time-gate currency. I have thousands of Badges of Honor but I can't spend those unless I also use up the far rarer tickets. Tutorials have always been lacking from ArenaNet in every aspect of the game, not just WvW. They have been trying to fix this problem, but GW2 has historically relied far too heavily on their customers keeping the wiki updated and the game is still suffering from years without adequate in-game explanations (Which does make for amusing Youtube videos from streamers like Preach who follow the common gamer belief that a game should explain itself, not require outside reading/homework). New players just have to hope they have the time to figure out what is a very fun game mode and put up with the lack of explanation of mechanics. And more experienced players have to be patient answering the same questions repeatedly (if they're actually asked).
  22. Edit - It seems that Blish HUD was causing the crashes when I went into WvW. Once I stopped it I didn't have any issues. Darn Inquest tech. I've been crashing whenever I go into a WvW map after a minute or so.
  23. I'd also like to say "Thank You" to ArenaNet! Providing options for players and allowing them to choose how they would like to play is one of the biggest selling points for successful MMOs. Games should enjoyable, not performing tasks you don't like doing, and that can be hard to deliver with a broad playerbase with a variety of tastes. But if we can have options to do something else in place of doing content we don't find fun, that only helps to broaden your audience. I've always said one of ANet's greatest strengths is that they'll see their missteps and fix them,. this is just one more example of that. And we promise, we'll take really, really good care of our turtles.
  24. Thanks! It was interesting to read the behind-the-scenes around when this happened.
