  1. Don't worry few people use Hide in Shadow to heal as a thief. withdraw is often the best choice. Stealth is part of the gameplay of thief. Almost every build except p/p and s/p rely on stealth for staying alive and damage so loosing ticks when defending is hardly unavoidable. For exemple, staying on a point against an axe warrior who hit for 3k-4k/AA will get very harder with no stealth. Not impossible of course but playing thief should not be a purgatory. Or maybe all thief player are wrong and should play condi perma dodge ? ('till next nerf) And for your information 2 thieves are an insta loose in a lot of situation because it will be a 3v4 mid. Remember that thief bring few things in group fight to compare to ele (aoe/heal/cleanse etc) and mesmer (aoe, aoe, cc and damage). ^sadly true
  2. Yes and I think this don't bother anyone. Signet of Agility and IA 's nerf is the real problem
  3. S/D is a good build.Take care of sword 2 'cause it become expensive and the 3 too. Never engage with Steal, it's an instant interrupt you want to keep it. Sword 3 is unblockable keep that in mind.If you want to kill people you'll have to use and abuse you interrupt/blinds. For damage there is the second cast sword 3 (expensive) and auto attack. Don't forget AA it is maybe this point you're missing. Keeping AA while staying alive is one of the keys. You don't alway need to second cast sword 3.If you want to learn up you may want to to try just staying alive around your opponent. When you handle that you'll see windows in order to start an agressive gameplay.
  4. "Well thief attacked me once and i just couldn't even think about scenario how i could win. Even if i would be best player in planet winning would be impossible." Wich build do you run ? We are not in 2013 anymore. Thieves don't instakill anymore. Or you should build toughness, or you get caught in WvW by a stealthed deadeye, or you just stand still for 7sec assuming you d'ont play with an auto invu like Defi pain. You may be not the best player but thief is not S tier, nor even A in today's meta.
  5. 7k backstab is high in pvp. You may have to build more tankiness. No one can go full zerg. Killing thief is not easy but you can read its game. A thief can't fight indefinitely. When they start do dodge after the first burst it's at this moment that they have no or less initiative. So you can try to kill them but you have to know that you enter the thief game. If you don't chase, you take advantage while you get back your cd's and increasing the gap betwin the opponent and you. That will cost ini to fill this gap so less damage if the thief is chasing.Playing a thief can teach you how they stealth and for how long with which spell.About builds, don't chase daredevil who run the dodgedash. The counterpart of this "unkillable" build is that it can't kill anything and they are weak in 1v1 unless you take the cc when you try to heal up you won't die. The thief will reset 'till that moment happen (d/p one). For dead eye, you can't do anything if they one shot you but they have a low mobility and stealth don't mean immunity. Just AA where they dodge, aoe and they die. Deadeye have low def, it repose only on stealh. Thieves aren't the problem since backstab have no damage in pvp and have a 1sec cd
  6. I find staff DD not as good as P/P, maybe i'm playing wrong. for P/P its really easy just unload, and things die so fast. staff D/D seem to be dodge, skill 2, etc. this is for open world. Staff DD is about dodge, vault spamming. There is also a blind on skill 4 and blind is op. You can hit for 20K damage 3-4 times in a row, in aoe, and you dodge everything. You can break projectiles with your aa too.And bô is cool.P/P 's usefull skills cost too much. when you said 20k dmg, is this with raid buff or just solo open world? if its latter, i'm not sure how I get that, whats the rotation/skill/trait I should use for that kind of dmg build? I currently use the one from meta.https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Daredevil_-_Power_DPS You can switch No Quarter from the crit strike tree for Invigorating Precision in open world of if you struggle to stay alive. It was certainly with a lot of buff that I hit for 20k. You want to have the Bounding Dodger buff in order to hit hard. The rota is very easy : dodge, auto attack/staff skill 2/Fist Flurry, repeat. Check the build for detail. You can carry a bloodlust sigil on your shortbow. And remember to play with an ascended staff over an exotic one because it's a 10% dps increase and you may not need the Assassin Signet, you have enough damage for open world mobs. I usually run shadow refuge or shadowstep but feel free to change

  8. Hi, Ayrilana is right. Go for trinkets first and for weapon. Ascended armor doesn't give so much stat but there is an infusion slot. Ascended weapon over exotic is a 10% increased dps and it's for me the most important. The perfect order would be weapons > trinkets > armor. Don't forget that if you know how to play it's 90% of the job. Everyone have seen full ascended stuffed people struggling reach 10k dps because they don't know what to do. You can achieve 20k+ dps in exotic
  9. Hi, I didn't have the time to read but I'll give some advice. P/P is not that good but P/X or X/P is worth tinking about. For thrashes in open world if you don't play a staff DD you can go for Sword/Pistol. Third skill have a cleave and fifth skill is an AOE blind(=invicible)In PVP Dagger/Pistol give you a gap closer with 3 to stick to your target.Rifle and shortbow are the most reliable ranged weapon. Rifle got heavy damage, little mobility but single target and the shortbow is kinda like a counter part : high mobility, aoe, "low" damage.P/P build struggle to get in stealth too
  10. @witcher.3197 I see ranger as hunter so Charr are not a race who fit well for rangers
  11. Charr who are not good at war or can't support their society with military tasks do trades, farming and hunting. GW2 wiki
