  1. Maybe all the elite groups stomping on the noobs caused all the noobs to leave? 😁
  2. One of the things time gating does for Anet is reduce player burnout. When there is a Most Effective Tactic Available for earning currency it encourages players to run it repeatedly. That's when a game turns from a fun experience into a grind.
  3. I got some a while ago and haven't regretted it since. There's also glyphs for halving the harvest speed and every time I use my tools on a node I feel smug about how fast it is. Totally worth it.
  4. I see this all over describing what seems to be just about everything. So what does it mean? Give your explanation using the word as much as possible, just to get into the spirit of things.
  5. I agree that some of the death animations are a bit surprising. It was unexpected coming from a game with such a light-hearted stylized aesthetic. Still, while a bit more mature than I was mentally prepared for, I wouldn't say it is unduly violent for a game in this genre.
  6. Changing the base professions like that seems like it would be a balancing nightmare. I wish they would do something like SWTOR did and essentially have two professions you can switch between. Basically have your profession pick another profession that you could then toggle between outside of combat.
  7. What is the harm in having a higher maximum? If people want 100 shared slots why not?
  8. If you could do something in GW2 for the first time all over again what would it be?
  9. I really enjoy knowing how much damage I'm doing and trying to work on my rotation to improve it. But honestly with the Special Forces area available I don't really feel a need for a DPS meter to be active all the time. It's nice for practicing but it gets in the way when doing content.
  10. I've been looking into sPvP lately but I have very little experience and my rank is some sort of timid woodland creature. I'm not a huge fan of pvping in a game without doing my homework and I want to contribute to my team. So what resources are there to learn about sPvP these days, how much should I practice before diving in, and what should I know about Guardian in particular?
  11. Did you have any particular elite specs or builds in mind? Any preference for one over the others?
  12. This may not be possible but I'm looking for a class that deals damage at range, can be used in a zerg, and is viable at solo roaming. Just returned to the game and it seems that my faction is just getting dominated in WvW so if that becomes a pattern I'd like to be able to go take a camp or two on my own in the off hours. I'd also like to be able to participate in zergs and be at least somewhat useful to my teammates. I've tried Firebrand a bit in the past and its not bad but felt a little awkward to play. Currently playing with Willbender and it's fun but the PvE build I'm using seems like it would be too squishy in WvW. Anyone with WvW experience have any advice?
  13. Honestly I barely know what you're talking about but you asked for it so politely that I wish everyone would make suggestions the same way.
  14. I've only scratched the surface but I really enjoyed the aesthetic of the new area. The new elite specs are also very welcome.
  15. Big game, been around for a while, lots of opportunity to mess around. So what's the funniest thing you've experienced in the game?
  16. Looking to come back to the game and try out the new classes but I don't know anything about them. What's your favorite and what do you like about it?
  17. They shouldn't have made gems sell for gold, they shouldn't have made level 80 boosts, and they shouldn't have made waypoint unlocks. I definitely don't think they should sell mastery unlocks but with all the rest having been sold by Anet it's not hard to see why people would want them or even expect them.
  18. Found a guild, thanks!
  19. Opened up the search for a guild doing WvW on any server.
  20. Just started playing again and I'd like to do a little more group content, hopefully with a group of nice people. This time around I'm keeping it laid back so I'm not looking for hardcore guilds. I'm interested in doing open world content, fractals, dungeons, spvp, wvw, and pretty much anything else that crops up. I'm on the west coast and my hours are pretty sporadic as of now so I'll hop on at different times in the day. If you represent a guild please let me know how many people you have online most days and how members typically spend their time in GW2. Thanks!
