  1. current #2 is a soloq thief just stop.. thief is the 2nd best class in the game after revenant , you have more control on thief in higher elo games than on other classes you have PepegaStorm which does 12k damage with a full iframe and can be reset, and is aoe, and can swing team fights around this basically.. "i haven't done pvp in ages and when i come back i expect to be the best or else"
  2. lol no one complains about thief? this is a joke? thief is the 2nd best class in the game and has always been #1 or #2 since release and it's the only one class that has been meta since 2012 and is objectively broken thief's entire concept is unfair for a game mode like conquest and it'll never be fair unless they add line of sight to their teleports and even then it'll still be very strong

Well color me surprised. That is true for every skill in the game. It says nothing about how strong or weak the skill is. By the way, this guy said I am like a flat-earther for having the opinion that scepter 3 is an issue, so I replied "Wrong". And anet deleted my post and gave me a warning?? Incredible. Just permaban me from the game and get it over with.maybe because posting just a single word is considered non-constructive or provocative and yes it's true that skills are influenced by circumstances in other games as well but what makes you think 3 is a good skill? It's the second slowest skill in the entire game. It has medium range. It's targeted non-aoe skill. The skill has nothing good going for it except that it clumps up a bunch of your power into a few hits. There are way more skills that do the same in the game and like a broken record should i start repeating them? Most classes have a skill like this, if not all. Fact remains that multipliers in gw2 are way too strong. If you nerf the skill even further then classes without multipliers will get nerfed while classes with multipliers will still be better.Chrono can have 25 might stacks easier than mirage. In fact, mirage can't have 25 might stacks unless it gets them from someone else or plays power mantra with quickness and even then the window is very small in which you can have high stacks and you need greatsword so yeah. If you nerf the skill then you're essentially going to nerf more than just chrono's broken scepter damage because core mesmer and mirage don't have might stacks and when the skill is nerfed for them - it'll do less damage. In the end, chrono will still do more damage so this nerf proposal is misguided and isn't going to achieve the goal you want. (And yes, chrono will still lose more dmg but they also don't care about it as much because for them it already does excess dmg, while for something like a wizard amulet mirage - losing this will hurt you much more since you actually need the numbers) the correct way to nerf "unfair power damage" would be to nerf the modifiers to it. That way you're not making the skill obsolete for half of the builds in the game you mean like deadshot..? anyway we're past the point where a condition build can be viable without power. The game has too much spammable condi removal and on high elo, where people can play their classes, if you don't have power then your damage isn't going to stick. There will be fights in which it feels like you're not doing much (and you won't be) if your enemy is fast enough to cleanse. You pretty much NEED power for any condi build at this point , else you're risking being useless against some classes and especially teams with firebrand. In a way, the power-creep killed the non-power condition builds. I've played around with deadshot a bunch and while it's good vs some classes with less condi removal (mainly in 1v1s) it's simply much worse than an amulet with +power and condi dmg. You even need precision at this point cus yeah...

  5. scepter received buffs less than a year ago because it was too weak scepter 3 received a dmg buff but a cast time nerf because the skill was too weak and it's POWER WAS INCREASED AT THE PRICE OF CAST TIME their INTENTION was to make the skill "hit hard" and even then it doesn't hit hard (on condi mirage at least) because of how other circumstances (as mentioned above) matter so much why is it so hard for people to be objective? It hits hard with power instead of with condi.right now, that's what I don't like. how is 2000 damage hard? it hits hard BECAUSE of how much power gives, not because the skill has too much power and i've said that the power dmg in this game is way too high FOREVER ago. If you nerf it's power damage then in my gif it would do 1500 dmg instead 2000 dmg how is that not pathetic for the 2nd slowest cast skill in the game? the solution is OBVIOUS. Nerf the amount of power you get from might stacks or the max amount of might stacks or the dmg multiplier from power stat which will affect all classes in the game, as it should, because the power dmg is way too high compared to condi for all classes in the game You want less power damage, more condi damage. I propse to lower power damage on scepter 3 and increase condi damage. And yet you complain. Incredible.no, i want less power damage in the entire game and i want a mesmer to have a hybrid weapon that works with amulets such as wizard (or even viper) what's incredible is that you don't understand that the skill doesn't do good damage unless you have +power/ferocity/might stacks and your enemy has no protectionnone of these circumstances are related to scepter 3 itself scepter 3 itself isn't the issue how can this be too hard to understand ?

WOW THE POWER DAMAGE ON THIS SKILL IS OFF THE CHARTS PLEASE NERF THE SECOND SLOWEST CAST SKILL IN THE ENTIRE GAME ONLY LOSING TO 100B (Which does way more damage and is aoe) X D this is HYGH DAMAGE GUYS it's not even on a person with demolisher amulet, it's on a person with mirror/same amulet (deadshot in this picture) people only look at extreme cases where scep 3 does 12k damage but nobody looks ta cases where it does 2,000 damage. GW2 community in a nutshell, nobody looks at the picture as a whole and everybody just says whatever fits them to say the problem isnt with scepter 3, the problem is with how much damage power gives (to ALL classes) and with how much damage 25 might stacks give (which is what chrono can get) and with how much damage reduction protection has (33%). All of these are major factors and without all of these aligning you won't hit people for 12k while ranger pet charge does 12k even if you're playing a condition amulet cause your amulet doesn't matter for your pet's stats.   8. shh don't tell them mes scep 3 is broken XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD that pet skill is instant on swap unlike scep 3 and for the record a ranger using the same build said that "scep3 oneshots me" and then i asked him to come to arena 3300 damage with deadshot amulet (condi/no power)6.5ish with wizard amulet 11.5k ~ with marauder (poweR+ferocity) AND 25 might stacks so the 2nd slowest skill in the game, with 25 might stacks which on mirage is hard to get, with +ferocity is still doing less damage than a pet instant ability but lets keep being biased and ignoring the facts bois owo
  9. revenant and thief are miles above anything else i've been playing gw2 since release and i still don't understand how can classes like these be allowed to exist lol why do you even have walk animation with a, GET THIS, MELEE class, when ALL YOU DO IS TELEPORT in a TAB TARGET GAME (so you dont even have to aim) its a common sense/standard/logic that melee classes have more "stats(damage if assassins and defense if tanks)" than ranged ones but the price they pay for it are being meleerevenant's damage is inflated as hell while they even have decent hp but they dont pay the melee toll because they're not actually melee, they have free guaranteed disengage with ungodly amount of stunbreaks anyone lowly enough to reroll to rev is just abusing the class to its fullest, while thief is the same but worse in most situations (and better in a few). What's the point of having a melee class if it doesn't play as a melee? IF you gave revenant a rifle that could shoot through walls it would be overpowered and people would complain but that's EXACTLY WHAT WE CURRENTLY HAVE ANYWAY? THe only difference is that they can get hit by aoe if they go in but the damage works the same way as a rifle that 1shots through walls with no line of sight would mes is balanced? so going from the best class in the game to the worst class in the game (worse than ele) in a year makes it balanced? ok mirage is complete garbage and the irony is that since chrono has broken chrono mechanics - anet will probably nerf core mesmer (which will affect mirage even further) instead nerf chrono which is the actual problem this game's balance is actually abysmal with the last patch, and you can see it with how dead the ranked queue is and how it consistently matches ppl with 150+ rank difference

Reason for nerfing scepter power and buffing its condi is because the condi on it is much weaker. When scepter is used on power burst chrono you know something is wrong.Ferocity is alredy objectively one of the worst stats.i used scepter on power mirage too, don't see the problem? condi mirages used SWORD back in the day so not a very good argument not in EU you don't.. short guide on how to fix mesmer scepter is "decent", "hybrid" weapon so it can 1 shot if ur zerk/marauder.now: lets make a skill. u cast it on someone and, over his head appears big red skull (may be flowers, w/e), if u dont dodge after 3 seconds, u instantly die. is it good balance? u got 3 full seconds to dodge, no way u cant evade it. no its not good design/balance cuz there are always some circumstances when u will get the hit. no skill should be doing so much dmg. getting + by scepter 3, specially if mesmer has quickness is nothing fun to play against. u instantly lose half of hp, from 1 button press, plz no"but mom! not fun to play against should not be a reason to take my toys away" - wrong! not sure if i should explain why, but thinking like this is incorrect, and no single skil should do so much harmexcept scepter doesn't oneshot anything with 25 might stacks and marauder it does less damage than ranger with sickem and no might stacks does with maul, what goes for rapid fire which is way more from nearly double range its ok to post stuff but you're just blatantly lying and exaggerating to stellar proportions. as i mentioned in my own post revenant with enhanced daggers and impossible odds can do 20k damage with ONE skill with +50% cast speed (cus of quickness) scepter 3's damage was BUFFED and cast sped was REDUCED in one of the more recent patches so even arena net wanted the skill to be more like 100b. You can't say " scepter 3 does 10k damage " without mentioning its cast time, which is the second longest in the game and it's super slow. By that logic then they should just revert the " buff " on the skill and make it cast faster but do less damage ( and then it'll be arguably better cus u still get the same confusion stacks anyway but it's faster ) the skill is unusable without trait and even then it isnt even top 5 highest dmg skills in the game while being 2nd slowest cast time in the game, how about you have some objectivity the next time and not overlook whatever facts dont fit your narrative? if you're gonna make a statement that its dmg is high that means you're comparing it to the rest of the skills in the game but oddly enough not to the skills that easily outdamage it
  11. i seriously hope most of the suggestions in this thread aren't look at cus they are horrible and won't work in real gameplay or are not reasonable/fair lol like nerfing scepter 3 is the worst thing i've ever read. It's the 2nd SLOWEST skill in the game after warrior's hundred blades but it's damage is not even top 5. It does LESS DAMAGE than MAUL which is a 4 second cd skill that buffs your pet and is aoeit does less dmg than rapid fire which has nearly double range, nearly double damage and casts faster (because ranger can also have quickness on demand) scepter has always been a decent hybrid damage weapon unlike STAFF which is purely condi / utility or axe which is mostly condi or sword which is only power. Nerfing scepter KILLS AN ARCHETYPE and that's not how you should do these things, having the option to play hybrid should be there because condi only builds are weak (and i'd know cus i played deadshot amulet for a few days just to try new builds out recently) scepter 3's damage is pathetic when compared to almost anything in the game > almost any warrior f1 skill, almost any rampage skill, backstab from thief, deaths judgement, rapid fire, maul, deathblow, etc etc and so on, there are just so many better skills. as for CHAOS traitline, chaos is overrated and without that signet thing not even viable , just annoying / boring people in this game have been taught so badly and should seriously stop cheering for "REWORK LOL" reworking stuff that's popular is punishing loyal/old playerbase. IT DOESNT BRING ANY NEW PLAYERS I CAN ASSURE YOU THERE ARE NO PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER PLAYED GW2 WHO ARE LIKE "HMM IF THEY REWORKED MESMER CHAOS ILL COME PLAY THIS GAME LOL"but it does make people QUIT the game. I have quitted/rerolled so many times because of reworks in this game. If you ask me CHAOS ISNT EVEN VIABLE because the meta is dmg , dmg and more dmg, unless you're a scrapper. the only way it brings old gw2 players back is if the new reworked version is more op than the old one and then the existing gw2 players will get pissed instead not in EU you don't.. short guide on how to fix mesmer

I don't really feel the mirage cloak change tbh meanwhile as long as there's stuff like this in the game, nerfing scepter sounds preposterous, the dmg is actually weak compared to other power classes my ranger with demolisher amulet and 20k hp and protection on dodge is capable of doing 20k dmg with a single rapid fire which is unblockable (with pet merge) with reveal and more range while also being 3 times tankier than my mirage with double its range and obviously a pet a 1;1 comparison between classes is not reasonable but sometimes you need stuff like this to see what you're dealing with, i don't think scep3 is overpowered considering it almost requires a trait to even be usable honestly the axe nerf was just incredibly bad. You, as a developer, should want your game to keep up with the times and to be modern. Modern games are a lot more fluid than older games are in general and the speed is better so people can focus on the actual gameplay instead of random tedious small hiccups and mechanics, even older games have a ton of animation canceling (aion for example) and for some reason instead of them making the game more fluid by making skills turn your character around and make them usable on people behind you, not just mirage skills but ANY skills for any class, they go in the exact opposite direction of that and make the game much clunkier. Now using axe mirage ambush feels wrong because it's a melee weapon so people walking behind you or you walking behind them happens all the time and then you wont get the mirage ambush attack to go off, on top of that not all axes can hit the target any more so there's just screen clutter and effects but no actual hits, wtf? thse changes baffle me so much i don't know who this mirage main is that proposed the nerfs but he clearly has no perspective and vision on how gameplay can be improved
  13. Scepter 3 does "physical damage in the grand scheme of things" when it comes to MIRAGE. If you compare it to other classes it's actually pathetic, which is what i tried to convey in my post. The damage it does is nothing remarkable for its cast time and if anything it's even low because it casts so slow. Imagine if you played a ranger and you had mesmer's scepter 3? It would be horrible. It works for mesmer because you have illusions that distract and detarget and a blink which helps you position with it and it's a good skill but it's not overpowered and without the grandmaster trait i'd say its not even worth using in many situations
  14. hard disagree on the nerfs part if you play a mirage and a scourge back to back you'll be absolutely astonished how ludicrously easy it is to kill people as a scourge, you use 1 skill and get 5 conditions on him while also removing 3 boons lmao mirage needs a revert on the axe nerfs and the only justifiable / realistic nerf at this point for mirage is with evasive mirror, evasive mirror is way too strong. It should be reworked to have 50-100% longer cooldown or make it like 10/20 second cooldown with 5 sec duration (still much lower uptime than what it is now) absolutely no nerfs on scepter , the weapon was BUFFED MULTIPLE TIMES DUE TO BEING TOO WEAK AND NOT USED (I still used it way before any of the buffs but only cause i like scepter and its concept). If they were to suddenly nerf scepter that's a complete and direct contradiction of themselves, you cant just buff a thing then next patch nerf it unless its broken and scepter isn't broken cus it's been like this for more than half a year. People started taking more notice of scepter now because it got more popular all of a sudden but the skill has been like this for ages also if you think scepter does too much dmg i suggest you try playing scepter without the grandmaster trait for scepter and see how much dmg you're gonna do, it has 1 sec windup on the cast animation and 2.5 sec cast time, it;'s the slowest skill in teh game and it BARELY DOES 10k dmg with power builds while a warrior does 10k PER HIT with rampage that has INSTANT CAST and CC effect. LMAO. How can you even compare? Ranger rapid fire on a full dps build does 20k damage with 1500 range and 2 times faster cast time but mesmer's 10k damage on a power build (and its lower on condi builds so its not even that big of a factor). 9 HITS , DO REMEMBER THE SKILL IS 10 HITS. So a ranger can quite literally oneshot you from almost double range with TWO TIMES FASTER CAST ABILITY but scepter has to get nerfed? No, people need to be more fair and rational when looking at these things and to compare classes against each other considering how gutted mesmer was with all the last patches, nerfing the few things that are left is stupid as for buffs, axe was completely gutted with the last patch. You can't use mirage ambush on people behind you but the axe puts you behind people, its incredibly stupid its a spite nerf its not a reasonable nerf. The developers that came up with this change must personally dislike mirage for it because the change completely kills axe. Went from stacking 40 torment on a immovable golem to 20 and 20 stacks of torment does 1k damage and can be removed and takes an entire second to tick (on a standing target). Meanwhile in 1second a thief can do 15k backstab and a 10k heartseeker right after out of stealth from 30m away with steal xd the axe nerfs need to be reverted, you can keep the mirage cloak nerf and even the shatter nerf (which i dont think was fair because now F2 is incredibly weak and worthless, at least buff its power dmg to compensate how little effect this skill has by itself without illusions trait) i quite literally bought PoF because of the axe. I hated sword because it didn't fit my style and i don't like staff because it's too passive weapon and its a defensive weapon and a much slower 1v1/point based weapon while axe was offensive and aggressive and it had everything i wanted it to have ,it had good aoe spread dmg (with mirage cloak) and some defense (with 3) and also focused offense and helped you combo (with 3). Mesmer only has 3 options for 1handed weapon and sword doesnt have any conditions do it and the mirage cloak on sword is clunky as hell and doesn't help so that leaves only axe and scepter and axe is complete trash on this patch. They made it clunky as hell, ambush not activating half of the time because they walk behind you while you're casting it or because your skills put your target behind you Even if they reverted the axe nerfs you'd still be much weaker cause F2 had a massive nerf and you still wouldn't get the same confusion combo with axe 3 but the mechanic reworks on axe were completely horrible and gutted the weapon, now the torments just go by and dont hit the enemy and dont stack and it cant be used behind you. I dont care much about the 3 nerf , sure losing 3 confusion stacks on top of losing 4 more from the F2 nerf is absolutely horrible but the other axe nerfs are much worse
  15. and then you're no longer miragethe entire concept of the class is gone I understand its frustrating but you should understand that mirage has limited stamina and now with the infinite horizon meta you need stamina to do damage. If they use their stamina to dodge while cced then they're going to have 1 volley less of conditions from infinite horizon, it's really that simple. Thief uses initiative for offense or defense (not literally or entirely but you more or less get the point) and mirage uses stamina, its the same concept just different resource. It shouldn‘t be possible, not even with a GM trait. They should need to time their evades before the stun hits them or burn a stunbreak, like every other profession. Only difference being that other professions have better/more stunbreaks and also stability, which mirage doesn't really have any more since it was also nerfed (along everything else) and the duration is stupidly short and can hardly be called a thing if we're talking about "every other profession" then feel free to increase the condi duration on every skill for mirage (like every other profession) cus right now its among , if not the shortest in the game. I love how some people were crying about torch applying 1 stack of burn for 10 seconds and then there's engii's pistol which is 4 stacks of burn for 15 sec+ which amounts to over 15k dmgLmao
  16. there was a surge of mirage players after the portal nerf but i don't think it's still thereit's still the same few active mirage players and occasionally some randoms that don't do anything cus the class isn't as easy as people try to make it sound when fighting experienced people i don't think there are that many mirages right now , maybe you just had such queues. I saw as many chronos as mirages ,if anything. i watched a bunch of jawgeous's mirage rant on youtube and he doesnt even know basic stuff about mirage skills so that was funny apparently axes of symmetry alone can do 20 condi stacks
  17. oh good I've been the highest rated mirage for the last 2 seasons (except the last 2 weeks of the last season cus i was playing another game and i did spam games regularly and didn't cheese out elo so there were times at which there were people higher than me but it didn't last, and i also finished highest 2 seasons ago) and generally have consistently played with top 50 players here's some facts for you since you decided to ignore the first guy who actually made a lot of sense The nerfs hit mirage very hard and reworked some core mechanics and left a lot of openings, so much so that mirage's main role (which was side-node dueling) is no longer their main roleMirage loses to boon-beast and to chronomancer(supposedly) and doesn't have portal any more (not a worth taking portal).Mirage's whole identity has been changed and this game has four roles ( DPS - teamfight carry and dmg but low defense, ganker - roamin/+1ing , duelist - side node 1v1s and stalling vs 2+, support - healing/buffing)mirage isn't the best duelist any more which means there's no point taking one as duelist as it simply losesmirage isn't the best ganker as the other gankers atm are insanely strong (and by far the best classes in the game atm) which would be revenant, thief, core guardmirage isn't a supportmirage's only role left is DPS/ team fighter which is technically the necro role, which ironically i've been playing way before the nerfs even forced mirage to change to this role The dps mirage role isn't the same as the duelist mirage role, it has no boons and it has clear counters and it requires way more skill than the duelist one as you have to manage way more things and be way more active with it and yes it is way more rewarding as well if everything goes well, imo its just an alternative version of necro that has different strengths and different weaknesses but it isn't omni-potent and is very punishable most good players actually agree that mirage isn't that good and some of the ones that don't are saying that out of spite or simply aren't good/ high elo and don't understand the classes but in general the play-rate speaks for itself anyway.. and you have to consider external factors like fun, mirage is probably the most fun class in the game (can hit while dodging, can teleport, can stealth, high mobility, potentially high dmg and mixed at that, okay sustain compared to some other classes and it requires you to keep track of a lot of things which makes the gameplay engaging and fun) and it still has a low play-rateand here i will remind you again that mirage is a very wide term and the builds can vary a lot, staff mirage and no-staff mirage are completely different. Staff plays itself a lot (due to boons and due to bouncing illusion damage which adds up) while other builds are harder to play and can be punished more but are also more rewarding , potentially.Staff mirage lacks dmg, can be kited, loses to other similar roles - those are its flaws, it doesn't have press-on hard dmg and anyone that isn't a monkey can disengage until help is thereNo-Staff mirage is squishy, has stamina issues (since it must be used offensively as well), can be ganked or outsustained the entire concept of " mirage " is to be like a mirage, like its there but its not there , you want them to rework the entire concept which is an opinion but not a valid argument on why the class is strong. It's annoying but that's the point of a mirage? imagine being in the desert and dying out of thirst and then you see a mirage and then its not real and like the concept of the mirage is to annoy/troll you even and that's also the concept of the mesmer.If you rework the core mechanics it won't be mirage any more and at that point might as well delete the spec, but also delete a bunch of other specs cus i don't like them. The whole point of a mirage is to be persistent and hard to catch, which means defense, and its offense is already conditional so it doesn't always work, hence the word condition mirage is a different approach to mesmer than the other 2 specs and it's healthy for the class and it's already been nerfed in literally every single way possible, every condition was nerfed (confusion was reworked), their stacks and their damage were reduced, the vigor uptime was nerfed and the defense was nerfed in general, the physical damage of mirage was nerfed as well, the cooldowns were nerfed, the ultimate was nerfed asking for nerfs on a class that isn't even top 3 best class atm is just unreasonable. It was overpowered more than half a year ago but those times are long gone, mirage isn't as oppressive on high elo as some other classes are and generally on high elo gankers are a lot more influential but it still depends Mirage is also one of the only two condi builds that can still work in this game cause all other condi builds are garbage and you have 9:1 power: condi ratio which is lame and condi players are pretty much forced to pick mirage or scourge and anet doesn't do anything about other condi specs which are vastly outperformed by power specs both in sPvP and WvW due to many reasons but one of them being that condi removal is mostly shared between teammates while healing rarely is , and you can also heal condi dmg so it isnt even an argument
