  1. I’ve had great success with a celestial scrapper combined with my hard hitting valkyrie holosmith. If I was wandering off on my own in pve, holosmith is good for a quick KO. Meanwhile, scrapper is a tank, provides the quickness boon, and can heal people well in group content like metas. I’ve even taken scrapper to higher tier fractials and had good success with it there too. Very happy with my builds on my engineer. 😁
  2. Sometimes there are fashion shows in the major cities hosted by other people, but as far as anything official, there was a stage in Lion’s Arch during April fools that had people show off their fashion wars. It has been removed since April fools ended, yet I wish they would have kept it in as there isn’t anything like it in game.
  3. I’ll admit that I haven’t formed a headcanon my Charr guardian using the tomes that invoke the ideas of Charr culture. I’d always assumed that our character become inspired by the stories told of the Elonian people and chooses to channel them in their honor. However, if I had to come up with something for the history of the Charr, perhaps it would be something like this: Totem of Justice: Maybe when Scorchrazor rose with the females to defeat the shamans of flame legion? In Charr eyes, weakness or foolishness is shunned on, so exacting payback or “justice” for the Flame Legion’s belief in the gods could work. Totem of Resolve: A little harder to think of, but one that comes to mind is the declaration of not following a god anymore. This choice that affects the future Charr society need to have a determined and sure stance. I also can think of the charr’s desire to reclaim Ascalon from all manner of threats too. Ghost, flame legion, humans, etc. Totem of Courage: Perhaps inspired by the Charr invasion when Charr first retook Ascalon from the humans? Courage is required in any fight, and I imagine first major scale attack would take more than average. The examples for each tome are just ideas though. Even if a charr guardian follows the history, perhaps they can be inspired by other war bands of modern Tyria. Warbands that have resolve, courage, and justice are probably engraved into history even if they aren’t named by the player. Or the character could be inspired by the idea of legions themselves. The ideaologies of each legion are engraved into their culture, so perhaps the origins of each legions could be an inspiration. Regardless, I love your norn spin on firebrand! Legends are a key part of a norn’s identity and culture. Hopefully my draft of the Charr firebrand ideologies are solid for this discussion. 📖
  4. I’m not sure about the extra dialogue, but I agree with wanting more lore on Ipos! The precursor collection has interesting implications. The text starts from the stone, then moves to a page, a scroll, and eventually the book itself. There’s certainly a story to be told. Only speculation here, yet its assumed to have been around for a long time. If the new expansion is going on the route of demons, it’d be fun to see a strong demon by the name of ipos.
  5. For ranger in particular, I see soulbeast quite a bit. If you wanted to go for a power set, I'd suggest dragon or valkyrie.
  6. Thank you for your inputs Gibson and Danikat! I think that answers my question well. I do agree that Sirean and Tybalt aren't the best and brightest, but like with what Danikat mentioned, perhaps they got into their respective orders via recommendations, proof of character, and/or experiences. Guess its like getting an actual job application reviewed and accepted. 📰
  7. Hello! I have a lore/role playing question regarding how an average joe or citizen of one of the races can get into the three orders. I know there are recruitment tables and info booths about each order scattered around Tyria, but when asking to join in the open world, they seem to refer to "talk to your mentor" more than anything. This is most likely just because we're the player character, yet the majority of NPCs might not have mentors, and getting into the most promenade orders would be extremely difficult for most common people. I could imagine vigil being more open to accepting anyone, but whispers and priory might be more picky on who gets in or not. Common folk might have enough drive to want to fight the elder dragons, but it seems to be that the orders only take the best and brightest from each race. Let me know your thoughts and opinions if you're interested. Thanks!
