  1. TLDR: dodge sword 5, dodge their opening burst, kite during their F3, go in and out and don't stay too close too much(because their 2nd weapon set is usually PbAOE), count their dodges (2 dodges + 2 evades from F2), either time your CC really well after their elite or prepare to kite/dodge. I find Hammer to be decent against them too, hammer 3/5 in place to peel for yourself.
  2. No I'm not saying I'm running into zergs, I'm saying while our team's only tag is on another map (most of the time EBG), our stuffs on home BL are getting taken by only a small group of ~10 people, yet we still get outnumbered because we only have 2-3 people and we can't do anything. I don't only roam aimlessly looking for fights, I also scout and defend, but that has been very difficult these past 2 weeks. What I meant was it is difficult to do anything more significant than taking a camp unless you're with the only tag, and most of the time the tag is on EBG and I despise EBG.
  3. Domain of Torment, it's been at least 2 weeks of you either cloud/zerg in EBG or you get outnumbered in the borderlands. Very hard to solo roam, small groups aren't doing much better due to the enemies having multiple tags that can handle multiple maps. Waiting for next week when we're down to tier 4 to see if it improves.
  4. I actually find fighting condi mirage way more annoying than virtuoso lol - clones, mirage mirrors, blinds, invuln, general kiting with staff, invis. Of course I'm aware that it's mostly a skill issue, and also condi mirage has been my #1 enemy since I started roaming in 2018 on power herald, so naturally I hate it more. But at the very least I agree on Blade Renewal and F5 needing a change.
  5. Interesting, I'm super new to Mesmer so I didn't think of trying that. May I ask what the other weapon set you run if you choose Chaos instead of Dueling/Domination? I'm using Sword/Shield as a defensive set since I already take an offensive trait line (Dueling).
  6. I'm still learning Spear Virt (new to mesmer too), but is there a Virt build that uses Spear and Chaos/Illusion/Virt? As far as I know, Spear is strictly power and therefore people usually run Dueling (or Domination), no? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not sure where Spear comes into play here. Blade Renewal suggestion makes sense, I agree with F5 needing to be buffed/reworked too. No comment on the other suggestions though, as I'm not good enough with Virt yet to know if those traits are problematic or not.
  7. Same, from a competitive standpoint I hate the startup and the slow speed of spear 2. Though I do see the case with F2 being problematic in certain situations in PvE.
  8. Please move Resistance on dodge from Defense to Strength 🙏
  9. This still seems to be a bug a month and a half after the first post. Very annoying when you're given a special action skill to use during an event, you take the time to read it and it tells you that it will counter the mechanics, and you press it and nothing happens. Why is the skill there if it does nothing???
  10. Well Metabattle still lists Power Herald WvW roaming build with sword+sword/staff as Great (rated 5/5) so...
  11. So far I feel like for a noob like me Defense works better, the extra Adrenaline from being hit and the added cleanse are very welcoming. Absorption/Severance on Staff, Hydro/Rage on GS. I might swap out Absorption for something else like Cleansing if the situation calls for it. Mostly though I'm still getting used to Spellbreaker (and Warrior in general, I come from rev and guardian). I still forget to use FC way too often, and sometimes I feel like missing that last bit of damage to finish someone off. But the build overall looks promising and is quite fun.
  12. Yeah I need to relearn what other classes do because I was on Willbender and that spec is easy mode lmao. Going back to my power herald and trying out spellbreaker to make fighting a bit more challenging and exciting, but to be honest I still get on Willbender from time to time to score some easy kills.
  13. Yeah I tried both Defense with Hammer and Strength with GS and so far I prefer Strength GS a lot more, possibly because I was somewhat more familiar with GS in PvE. I'm also super new to Warrior - I've pretty much never played Warrior in WvW before - but the build so far is very exciting and hope the result will come with more practice.
  14. Hey all, looking for a good Spellbreaker roaming build for someone relatively new to Warriors. I find staff very fun to use and from fighting Spellbreakers I really like their playstyle - relatively tanky duelist with good CC's, mobility and just enough damage. I see that GuildJen has a Defense/Discipline build with Hammer and looks like it works quite well, but I'm a sucker for big numbers and I'm wondering if running Strength/Discipline with Staff + GS would be better while still being somewhat survivable. I'm also interested in seeing what relic other people are running too. Cheers!
  15. That's why roaming on multiple builds/classes not only makes you a better player but it's also more fun that way. If I want to turn my brain off, just fight in clouds in EBG and jump on groups or people, I'll hop on my spear WB. But if I want to actually roam around solo in borderland maps, I'll use my power herald and it's more fun because it's less predictable and more challenging. There is a place for both playstyles, and while I think a nerf to WB is very very deserving, I hope it will keep the build's YOLO identity and still make it more difficult to win fights when the opponents are aware of you and have half a brain - because right now when I'm a bit more comfortable on WB (only started a few months ago too), I can win fights vs. obviously better players but on worse builds, because if I have the jump on the WB is that oppressive.
