Anyway, you CAN play Guild Wars 2 on a controller, and it IS effective, and just as good as KB+M! I do more DPS than 90% of players. I'm one of the best Spellbreakers on my server in WvW. With action camera for example, you gain a HUGE mobility advantage over backpeddalers. Most KB+M users can't even move the same way that I can, with a thumbstick.

You can EASILY (EASILY!) fit every button you need on a controller, with a bit of know-how. I have buttons for EVERY user interface shortcut, I have a seperate button for EVERY mount, heck, I even have buttons for my novelties. And of course I have all my skills bound. I have stow weapon bound, about face - you name it, and I keybinded it to my controller.

All right, SOME things are plain better on KB+M. But only inventory management comes to mind (I got pretty kitten good at moving the mouse with my right thumbstick anyway so it's probably only like 25% less precise for me).

I'm curious what your controller keybinds are? Wondering if it's similar to mine. =)

I miss my old games - gw2 , world of warcraft. I know many pc gamers who left pc world after ps4 pro was released so we all waiting maybe one day gw2 will be on console as Elders scrolls and Tera are now. Consoles is a huge market and its winning against pc at the moment

I connected my PC to a 65 inch 4k TV and I play games on my PC with whatever controller I desire on the big screen and can play split screen games with friends who come over. Same console experience only better since PS4 pro 4k isn't true 4k as it's being advertised and you get way more options on PC than on console. There is no reason why you cannot hook up your PC to your TV and play with a controller. PC gaming is what you make it.

I'm currently sitting in the active fight with Scruffy 2.0, dead, having died at least a dozens times, and I honestly just want to throw my hands up. The point where you frustrate your player to quitting is bad game design. I understand, as game developers, you want to make the fight epic - oh no! Taimi suffocating! I care and have to hurry, but I have massive amounts of projectiles, burning, aoe's, and a completely incompetent NPC that DOES NOT use his reflect as he should... that means I don't care about Taimi, I just want to get out of the fight.

    So here are some suggestions:
    • Lower the Bosses HP pool: The boss fight is taking way too long, and it is not enjoyable, take down the HP
    • Stop with the rapid fire AoE's AND projectiles: Slow down on the boss's attack
    • Relax on the complicated moves: This isn't a raid, it's a story boss, being solo'd, there's no need to make so difficult
    • Program a better companion: In every fight I did during LS4 (Sunspears, Corsairs, the rag tag team, Braham) they stopped attacking and just stood there.. seriously during the inquest swarm they all just stood there

I know the automatic response from the forum goers will be "get better," sure, I'm willing to do that, I've tried doing that, but ANet keeps making their story bosses more and more difficult. This isn't fun anymore. Please chill out on the difficulty of the story bosses.

Story bosses are not hard. You need to just learn how to play. I beat them all on almost all the classes. I really don't want them to nerf the game. Please just learn to dodge better and make your own builds that you know how to play to overcome challenges. Not that this game is challenging.

if they arent hard, why do these threads keep popping up?"you need to overcome challenges.but this game isnt challenging"...what?so a challenge isnt challenging? please explain that one

It keeps popping up because people literary don't put the time to learn the combat and build mechanics and they don't learn how to dodge or try new tactics. And I can't believe you're going to make me explain this but here it goes:You need to overcome challenges in a game to succeed. However this game isn't even challenging to begin with since anyone can succeed given they learn the mechanics. If this does not make sense too you then I do not know what will.

@DreamyAbaddon.3265 said:I would prefer if we could keybind glider deploymentStrangely enough I remember an option, a checkbox, where you could enable/disable gliding if you hold space. But I just can't find it anymore..

That's a bummer... They should re-add that option. I'd love to disable gliding for space key being held down. It's better than no option that's for sure.

  7. @"sorudo.9054" said:i wonder why they even did the "hold space to glide" thing, i am used to double tap space.

Double tap to glide is a nice option to add too. Anything is better than hold space to glide at this point. We need options. "Get good" is not a solution to a gameplay control mechanics. Simply adding options on how we choose to activate glider, eliminates these issues for all. Let the players decide what works for them when it comes to this and everyone is solved.

  8. I would prefer if we could keybind glider deployment because breaking the habit of years of gaming is not a good "work around" to this situation. Seriously. We need the ability to keybind glider deployment or have a check box to disable glider on the menu. Or Both options! All these years of GW2 and I still have issues with this to the point that I hate gliders during jumping puzzles. This crap needs to be worked on cause it is ruining the fun of Jumping Puzzles for me and many others.

If people want to play GW2 they can just simply download it right now and play. Not everyone owns a console, which is a dedicated gaming device, just to play a game. PC is the best platform and cost less. You also don't need a gaming PC to play GW2... I can play this game on my Surface Tablet just fine. I think ArenaNet should focus on adding more content. Remaking the game for console is just not worth the investment in my opinion.

    A) No, not everyone has a PC, and B ) not everyone with a PC has one that can run GW2. I had to completely rehaul and buy something that was made in the past two years that can stand gw2's heavy requirements on medium settings. The game is very resource intensive in it's basic format. Yes, computers are typically cheaper than say an xbox or playstation, but to say it is the best platform is relative and is it not a valid reason by itself to deny console versions. The biggest issues would be communicating with other users without a keyboard and potentially not having cross-platform play.

Uh yes... Everybody who has a console already does own a computer. A console is a luxury device not necessary for productivity while a PC in the 1st world country is necessary for productivity.. Also if my tablet can run GW2 then a laptop or a desktop can too. You dont need to play GW2 in medium settings. My tablet performs this game fine in Low settings. Most people own a laptop for school and work. In fact I never met ANYONE who does not own a computer while owning a console. You don't need a gaming PC to play this game and you certainly dont need to play it im medium or high settings to enjoy it either.

If you want to play the game just download it on your computer that you use for work or school and play. It is that simple. Even a simple Mac can play GW2 just fine. You dont even need Windows.

Also it cost devs time and money to remake this game for consoles when that money is better spent on making more content for all of us to enjoy.
