  1. You can't double up on effects with internal cooldowns, which zephyr's speed and clarion bond both have.
  2. Ehhh... You might be right -- going to take some getting used to, though.
  3. "Traits that trigger when swapping pets no longer trigger when entering Beastmode." I feel traits that used that, like zephyr's speed, won't offer much advantage to soulbeasts in pvp now. . Can't it trigger on either or? I don't expect we'll be changing our pets in combat all that much.
  4. Feels so much better to me, like it's now a benefit rather than a punishment for playing vindi.
  5. Instead of disagreeing with you, I'm going to characterize your request based on your preferences to be something negative that negatively reflects your character.
  6. Completely disconnected from the game and the players... This design team inspires no confidence whatsoever.
  7. Nudging soulbeast back to end-game viability when it was already there before your changes... smh
  8. I think, if this is the result of having a 'dedicated profession balance team'... with wildly unpopular and objectively poor changes in one hand, and alleged conversations showing the devs balance based on personal preference and aren't familiar with other classes in the other hand (which just affirmed what we all suspected)... I can't see how we're supposed to have confidence in this new team. I hope this will end up being a wake up call, rather than a sign of how things are going to be from now on.
  9. I don't see anything prohibiting talking about employees being reprimanded or fired in the forum code of conduct, and it was openly discussed without reprimand during the Jessica Price/Peter Fries controversy (https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/topic/33336-gw-2-devsplayerbase-twitter-discussion/?tab=comments#comment-543585). They should probably update the rules if they're going to publicly tell people they're no longer welcome in the community for doing so... since it seemingly isn't against the rules and wasn't an issue before; otherwise, it just comes across as personal.
  10. The problem with how Guild Wars 2 balancing is that it always comes in big swings and 'reimaginings', rather than small, measured adjustments and shifts. Balancing that way always requires rebalancing down the road, as it never gets it right, and just really upsets players - I personally haven't played a game where the players were so bitter towards the balancing team since Anarchy Online. And honestly, I'm kind of tired of these constant changes; myself. I mean, soulbeast already had it's elite cooldown changed from 60s to 80s just recently, requiring a readjusted rotation, now it's back to 60s but will only do 5-6 hits total... so more readjustment, not to mention that it's not exciting at all anymore, and they clearly have no vision for what they want to achieve so it'll probably just be changed again down the road once we get used to only needing to proc it once a second; it's just taxing. Either the people(person?) handling this need more time to do their job right, or they need all new people doing it.
  11. I feel like I'm living through World of Warcraft Cataclysm class homogenization all over again...
  12. It was no different in 1998... There may be no public record of why Shion the Rogue abandoned Dereth to it's fate, but it was because the developers were cruel. 😄
  13. The GW2 pvp community thinks everything is toxic, and there is talk about how builds and entire approaches shouldn't be in the game every time I check this forum. People will not be satisfied until there's only a single archetype everyone plays, because anything that's not it is somehow detrimental to the game.
  14. I don't know what it says when my mind goes to the exact same place... but it can't be something good.
  15. Agh god, you're actually probably right. That's one reason that actually makes sense, and that's the worst motivation to nerf it - because a new, more powerful spec is getting more out of it, and of course they can't state in the patch notes that they're screwing over 2 or more B-tier builds to weaken an A-tier build that's going to be just fine without it. Yeah.. it's making sense now.
  16. People just can't wrap their mind around the idea that people could like something they don't like. In their minds, if people do, it can only be because they're toxic and are using it as a crutch because they're unable to play anything else. It's the classic zoomer mindset -- what they personally don't like = toxic and therefore should be destroyed. This is why everything gets homogenized in modern gaming; the incessant whining over any different approach, even if the complainers admit said approach is not especially strong or effective; it still minorly inconveniences them in some way, and therefore it's toxic and needs to be removed by the devs. sPVP has players to spare if some quit over losing their favored build, after all, amiright? 😄
  17. A lack of build diversity is what's bad for the game, and you happening to dislike something does not make it toxic. It may have been toxic when condition trapper dh was at it's height(because it was actually overperforming), but that was already balanced separately a long time ago - no one was even talking about this rune anymore(which is probably why there's not even a reason listed for this nerf). All this is going to result in is even more untameds and willbenders... like there weren't enough already. Good for the game, indeed. smh...
  18. People keep asserting it wasn't broken and wasn't too strong... so yeah, average. You're just listing off builds you don't personally like and labeling them as toxic. Trying to get builds you don't personally like removed, and celebrating when that happens, is what's actually toxic, in my opinion, because you'd never want to be on the receiving end of it, yourself.
  19. I mean, who wants to have their totally average build nerfed because someone who beats you half the time or more, anyway, complains that it's 'annoying'? Nobody, you can't possibly expect that.
  20. What does that even mean, though? That the opponents of people who used it didn't like it? Of course they didn't, it's how their vulnerable prey gets away. How can people call for things that they admit aren't strong to be nerfed? Just so they can more easily beat builds that won't be able to beat them in a straight fight, and that way they won't be able to escape, either? Oh wait, it makes perfect sense after typing it out. 😄
  21. Actually, I think this nerf illustrates a very relevant point - they must be THAT far behind on the list of balance issues that this rune is being changed when it's no longer relevant. Afterall, the probably single employee who does this surely has two lists: new specs and long-standing problems, and tends to one then looks at the other with however little time they have left in their miniscule allotment, resulting in largely irrelevant changes like this that have already been balanced out by new specs. Anywho, trying to get into spvp in this game has been such a miserable experience, this seems like an excellent place to resume a PVE focus. Trapper soulbeast, btw -- truly, the overtuned bane of willbenders, mechanists, harbingers and untameds far and wide. lol. This game..
