  1. When I had come back to see if it Gw2 was worth getting back into, I took things slow then realized there wasn't anything to keep me interested. When I'd ask if Gw2 was worth getting back into- Every answer was 'No' for various reasons which I summed up to "slow content." Which is why I left in the 1st place.

On top of that, None of my friends hadn't logged in for months or longer & the few guilds I hopped around in all had cliques & shunned anyone else.

    The community is so-so.

The RP community is harassed, ignored & practically non existent due to trolls.

There is no personal, customizable housing- just an instance based on your race which from what I remember, many players disliked.

The story wasn't any good. Everything except PvE/ casual content was ignored for years.

That's likely why it's "#8" on ranking, it's fine where it belongs.

Personally, I've gotten more enjoyment out of ESO & FFXIV. There is different Endgame content for Each MMO & it falls down to what you consider endgame. Some find achievement/ trophy hunting endgame, Deep dungeons, hard raid content, getting BiS gear, glamour collecting & so on.

The combat & graphics in GW2 are very nice.

I don't think there will be a GW3. If there was a GW3, hopefully the team is more organized & comes out with steady, impactful content early on. In the beginning of Gw2, there was a long time with no content- almost 2 years & the team kept going back on the promises they made & many of the playerbase felt ignored & went on to better things.

  2. Devs look at RPers like they do WvW players- they don't care & wish you'd just go away.I love most RPers, I don't RP myself but I was in an RP guild & my role was to kind of give the warm welcome to new players & basically figure out where they sat as far as the RP event that the guild was currently doing & introduce them. The group was so nice, this was back during the big LA/ scarlet event & we were about 90 players strong. But the RP community always seems to be grasping at straws that don't exist. I say, look forward to Pantheon: rise of the fallen. It's a niche MMO targeted at RPers & players who like to work for the content/ go their own pace.

  3. Guild Wars 2 falls flat in what it's trying to be which is an MMO that does everything. It doesn't quite have an identity. The PvP scene seems all but squandered, WvW is a broken, boring mess, the GW2 story isn't as engaging as it could be & the character development is flat.

If you want an MMO for Story, Dungeons, Housing & RP? FFXIVIf FFXIV is too weeb for you; turn to ESO or wait for Pantheon: Rise of the FallenIf you want an MMO for PvP, Housing & Graphics? Black DesertIf you want an MMO for it's vast popularity? WoWIf you want an MMO that is all about Mount & Chair skins? GW2 (atleast, that's all I see advertised about Gw2)

And I think there are still many niches which are not really explored for Sylvari. They are plant people and looking at the hairstyles we already have, they can look like any plant/mushroom!So how about stuff like:

And specifically looking at the Canthan expansion, there are many opportunities for new Sylvari hairstyles as well. We can get new hairstyles with an Asian flair as well as aquatic themed hairstyles for Sylvari, considering that we are going to fight the Deep Sea Dragon.

    The possibilities are just endless!

These are great references & ideas

I've wanted that face for a looooooong time.

That face is column 2, row 3 at character creation. Mouth is made WAY wider, eyes are bit tweaked too. I think slightly lowered height, and slightly raised width?

I think outside of a few select named NPCs (destiny's edge for example) virtually every NPC uses player character assets. Just have to play with the sliders, even if what they do from face to face is inconsistent.

I've wanted to wish it was that simple, and even as the face you're speaking of is the closest to it (I'm not in game to verify the exact positioning but know which one you're talking about), it's still not the same as what the NPCs have. I've even sat side by side with them with a total makeover kit on multiple occasions. No deal. :(

I agree, it can be similar but not the same T_T Also another face I always wanted even before the release was this and also this wasn't available :'( and was this one:

    That face is absolutely gorgeous

  6. There are people who like it & there are people who don't- I myself love getting immersed into stories of games I play BUT GW2 for me fails to do that due to the bad writing- There is alot of cringe & eyeroll moments & could I find better writing on TUMBLR? Probably haha -but that's what I think! I don't play GW2 for the story anymore- I have FFXIV for that- It's Gw2's combat you just can't beat. The customizing of builds & glamours are also what brings me to GW2 time & time again! GW2 combat feels almost more fluid than black desert but also the same? IDK-but don't feel bad for liking something someone else doesn't. It doesn't make your tastes inferior or whatnot. It just makes your tastes different. If someone puts you down because of it, those kinds of people just immediately ignore- They think their opinion should be shared by all & dislike or talk down to anyone who thinks otherwise.

@Etria.3642 said:A friend convinced me to try final fantasy lately. Character creation there is amazing. And then the actual...Bleh. Your character doesn't speak. Why on Earth can you PICK your characters voice and then they don't use it.

Very jarring after the awesomeness that is gw2. But the actual character creation is very nice.

    Tldr: more hairstyles yes please.

I personally prefer having a silent character. In every game, my character NEVER sounds the way I want him to sound or says what I'd imagine him saying in certain scenarios, so being able to imagine that makes me more invested in him. As for voice packs for audible emotes, I'm fine with it just so long as the game gives me the option to not sound like the Rock, such as in FFXIV.

You do have a point about them never sounding the way you like, but even the npc's have no voice in FF. Bleh.

Also re the hairstyles it's weird. I really admire/love some of the braided hairstyles I see IRL but they don't seem to fit my character. I prefer loose curly styles.

What's really sad is how it took Anet two expansions to add those Elonian hairstyles (and face shapes). Beforehand, black players got totally shafted in terms of customization. I digress however, and I also see your point 100%. As someone with loose curls, myself, it'd be nice to have some hairstyles that incorporate it.

absolutely and thank you for pointing it out. It was really odd how anything remotely close to not being Caucasian wasn't added until way later & it wasn't the same beauty that existed in Nightfall. I do appreciate what we got though, but we can still have better options in the future.

    • Guild stuff, such as guild vs guild, alliance battles, a TON of new guild halls and waaaaaay more bennefits to being in a guild. If you don't want to be in one because its not for you then fine, dont. But those of us who do should be given bennefits for playing in that manner; Its an mmo-rpg and guilds themselves should have a much larger role to play then they currently do.
    • More character customization in the creation window, more options to play with. (Straight back charr, Mordrem looking sylvari, Canthan looking humans, Maybe tech infused asuran? And Norn being able to toggle on and off their beast form. Maybe make it so in combat the norn turn into their true nature? Make them unique dang-it.)
    • Cool E-specs, the last batch were bleh.
    • More fractals, strikes and visions of the past. The visions could be events we've never seen before such as the fall of Abaddon or balth, the point where joko became a lich and maybe even glints death.
    • WvW overhaul and Tons of love pumped into the mode, who has been neglected for a long time and deserves way more attention than it currently gets.
    • PvP overhaul, much in the same vein as WvW.
    • Better looking armor, a lot of what we have is kind of ugly (Male norn player here, most of it is kinda meh.)
    • Fixes to classes who need them. (Rev needs at least a few more core weapons, Engineer could use some E-skills to round out their kit and so on.)
    • New and COOLER ranger pets(Way more than we got in HoT or PoF, I mean come on some of the resources are already there. Wargs, raptors, bats and so on.)
    • The expansion of older maps and the remake of them. (Id love to see Kessex hills be flooded from the White mantle attack, plus it would make the world feel alive.)
    • If possible a new playable race would be nice. Not in the least bit 100% sure it will happen, probably never will but this is a new team so who knows?
    • Same with a new class, Id love to see one make its way into the game as it breeds hype and is something Id look forward too immensely.
    • Make races mean something, or at least have better cosmetics and reasons to play as other races. The fact they don't and haven't is dumb to me
    • Please don't shirk on the lore, when a Sylvari is in the Echovald forest I want to know if they feel connected too it, I want to know what urgoz has in connection to them if anything.
    • Can we get the deep-sea dragon to at least have a name, and maybe be hinted at? Like Id love to know more about it.
    • How about to go along with Bubbles some largos lore?
    • Underwater content, and the overhaul for it because I LOVE underwater content.. (It just needs some flushing out.)
    • Make guild halls a place where we can log out. Like in guild wars 1, so we don't have to use city hubs and so on. Infact make it so crafting tables and so on are there as well, maybe put a gate for strikes/visions/raids/dungeons you name it there? Make it a Hub. So ontop of any benefits it gives you it ALSO gives you a hub you can customize and call your own which is as close to player housing as Im sure we could and would ever get.. (You can sell guild halls, furniture and so on within the gem-store.. ESO has proven its a good market..)
    • How about a new profession too? Like Ruin-seeker or archaeology where you go around and do what the priory does, and you find cool things from the past in various maps around the world. It would give lore, goodies AND be a fun way to add collections that aren't complete BS.
    • More norn anything, norn need love both cosmetically and lore wise... would be interesting to squeeze them in as it seems the saga is gonna be all charr stuff.

All of this. So much. But sadly, the only thing we will get is another chair skin.

@"Halandir.3609" said:I'm always mildly surprised by the responses to anyone asking something like "Can we have some kind of fishing in this game?"The veterans seem to shoot EVERYTHING down immediately because its (not to their, extremely specific, liking and therefore) extremely hard to implement or draws resources away from some imagined content that 2.4% of the games population enjoys.GW2 is an older game. Guess what: Doing whatever they have been doing for 8 years will NOT attract new players. Selling expac3 to 75-85% of the remaining pop may seem fine but how realistic do you think expac4 is then?

IMO. GW2 desperately needs random/rare/exciting loot: Hey, random/stupid/simple fishing would work!As for: "But fishing is horribly/mind-numbingly simple/stupid!" - Yeah, follow your own advice from nn threads: Just don't do it!Some claim: "But fishing requires resources..." Sure. So did "adventures" - To be blunt: Who sells this game to their friends because of "Wooo - Adventures!"... Right! - Fishing would be like ONE minigame/adventure that friends could actually relate to...If all else fails: Grab resources from encapsulated content, enjoyed by a very small percentage of veteranplayers that pay most of their "gems" with ingame gold. (And please: Stop the "all Gems are sold for IRL currency" story: Gold/cash conversion never ran out of gems or gold: Anet actually have the ability to print pixels :-))

Please don't clump all veterans in as a single group. Believe it or not, "vets" have differing tastes. I for one am supportive of fishing

Yeah, don't clump us vets together lol.I'd absolutely love fishing.

  10. A story that isn't laughable in comparison to FFXIV's Heavensward & Shadowbringers- GW2 story has never been great & more "generic good-guy teams up with other generic blend of good-guys" I just want a good story. Something I can get immersed into. Lore heavy, impactful & meaningful choices & NPCs with whom help drive the story in such a way, you actually are excited for what will happen next. I've never experienced that with Gw2- not even when Aurene "died" because you could see it coming & knew she would reincarnate or come back. It felt like a poor shock factor.-- Aside from the sad development of WvW & lack of care for the WvW players- the lackluster story is also why I left GW2. I've slowly been wanting to come back, but I know nothing has changed.

  11. I'm not starting a new thread & will instead, continue this thread with more hairstyle choices - The links are all from Pinterest ->https://pinterest.com/

Some more universal hairstyle ideas (i know theyre on women but I can see them on men as well)--https://pinterest.com/pin/631981760198942503/https://pinterest.com/pin/281967626642717679/https://pinterest.com/pin/96475617006381952/https://pinterest.com/pin/326511041736543003/

  12. I play gw2 to kill time when there's a patch in FFXIV or when I'm cooking something that has to be checked often, GW2 is a fun way to past the time while waiting for something else.

--small rant incoming--Things that could bring more players back are- Semi-Intricate player housing- allow players to choose between several houses & decor & able to share their style among the community.Meaningful choices within the story that feel less heroic & more anti-hero or vigilate- so our character doesn't seem so poorly plain & vanilla.WvW alliances & a system that rewards roamers & caters to players who also want to fight other players- and not just sleep at a tower or camp.Better character customization--- clones are everywhere in Gw2; the hairstyle options are boring compared to GW1 expansive choices. The faces in Gw1 even looked better even though there were no sliders. The NA voice acting is cringe too, especially for the Norn & Humans. The focus is more on chair skins & backwings than there is anything else, it feels like.I've been asked by several of my guild mates in other MMO's, including FFXIV if GW2 was worth getting into & I'm honest- I won't say here what I tell them because I don't want my post removed.

Gw2 is trying to be a jack of all trades & attempting balance most of it-- but it only reaches a bar of "let's add mounts!/another chair skin/silly backwings!" where it remains mostly lackluster everywhere else. If it's going to be a more RP specific/ PvE/Raid game- it needs to focus that. If it's going to be a mass PvP specific game; it needs to focus that.

I used to play everyday until it became clear Anet has no care for the players of WvW or the WvW game mode.

Aside from WvW; The PvE story isn't that enthralling mostly because the characters are really cliche. Braham is probably the worst & it would have been better off if he'd had been killed instead of his mother, atleast his mother had more backstory & already dealt with the daily guilt of Snaff, so why not also give her the guilt of her son's death? A son she clearly regretted not getting to know & be a mother to?
I'll be honest, I haven't attempted the newer icebrood story- but from what I've heard, it's a darker tone which sounds great- but it's too late.

  13. I'd rather more racial specific armour & outfits VS being a new race-- the way Charr have been treated gave me PTSD towards anet adding a new race. It would just be overshadowed & unproperly designed for universal armors or outfits. It would have been better if outfits were unique to each race instead of only fitting properly on humans. It's like situation with SE & the Viera & Hrothgar races. They were added quickly into the new expac, but are incredibly unfinished. You can't even wear helmets or hats on these races & armors look terrible on them yet people are actually asking for another race even thought the viera & Hrothgar are 100% unfinished
