  1. At 220ms the only strategy I have found is "feed it 3 of your lives"
  2. Depends on the situation and the type of people you play with. In pug t4 fractals, heal or hybrid heal scourge is probably fine, but it's extremely likely the group will have a guardian healer and people will be like "hey can you go damage please". In fractal CMs, due to the 5 party limit, the meta is guardian healer, reventant alacrity, and 3 dps so no one is going to want you healing there. In strikes, people love scourge healers go for it. In raids, it's a mixed bag but these days most commanders won't mind you being there to wipe-proof the encounter.
  3. For PvE, full ritualist with tormenting runes is a decent way to give 5 man quickness and do okay dps, there are more minmaxed ways to play quickbinger with full vipers but I prefer the simplicity of having more quickness then you know what to do with. If you want to be a selfish dps then it's basically like viper scourge except with elixir heal and might instead of epidemic because epi is trash now and then you do ye olde harbinger meta of camp shroud and hold down the 2 button
  4. If they were gonna do this they should have just deleted the skill entirely and replaced it with something else, instead now it's just another deadweight skill that will literally never get picked in any game mode like half of the skills in every other category
  5. All this talk about oneshotting people with spinal shivers or elixir throws, if I want to do pvp I'll go invade people in elden ring. Where is harbinger's strength in pve?
  6. Uh, yeah, insane constant interrupts and cc on 3? Necro doesn't even have access to stun outside of reaper and now it's on a 12 second cooldown on a weapon skill that **** is nutty
  7. That would be worse, making the spec more like vanilla necro. I just really liked the idea of having low health, no active defences, but insane regeneration, running around feeling like wolverine from x men
  8. Going for more damage isn't always the best play in pvp. You may need to adjust yourself to some ideas like "spectral walk is the most powerful spell in the game". Look at some good necro pvpers play, I don't know who's hot right now but I seen some NotoriousNaru necro on twitch and he seems to have his fundamentals. edit: wtf I just saw this thread is from 2017 we taking "necro" a little too literally here
  9. It's torment. It's an actual ****load of torment. Torment always wins.
  10. Feels homogenised as hell. Harbinger is supposed to be about becoming vulnerable with reduced defences in exchange for high damage and mobility. I think a one size fits all solution to this is to raise the blight cap from 25 to 50, or even higher. Make blight management something you have to always be thinking about rather then the current system where you get to 25 blight and just stay there and still have like 18k health and mediocre damage.
  11. Power reaper can supposedly do more single target sustain on the golem then scourge but I've never been able to hit that, maybe I'm just bad, maybe you can't or at least it's much harder to hit that benchmark at 300ms. Either way I've not been able to achieve similar dps numbers to scourge on the golem but if you can, go for it. There are a lot of raid encounters that suitable for both melee power and ranged condi, but either way if you want to main necro for raids you will need both plus a heal scourge build to beat everything.
  12. please, it was so good, I want sustained self healing, give us back the 2% blight as well I don't care. Put the conversion on a trait instead like vial vials to make it an interesting solo / support pick because no one is ever going to take that over septic corruption otherwise
  13. Welcome to the first 6 years of this game's release where necro was kicked from dungeons, then fractals, then raids for low dps, how the turns have tabled
  14. There aren't any. Minions are a fine build for when you want to solo a champion or something since with blood magic and death magic they can make you borderline unkillable, but outside of that they have an abysmally low dps output that doesn't scale up in any way. There are fringe cases like shadow fiend is taken on condition builds where you don't need AoE so you aren't running epidemic since there are no other necromancer skills that offer single target dps. GW2 is a game where you are free to play however you like, but if you like feeling strong I highly recommend a cookie cutter full berserker power reaper build as a starting point, you can find info on these on sites like metabattle or snowcrows. If you're still leveling run dagger/warhorn with signet of spite, well of darkness, well of suffering, and pick up berserker stats wherever you are. The core gameplay loop is that whenever you are in death shroud you deal more damage, so you drop AoE's and non-condition DoTs and then go into shroud so the tick damage is increased.
  15. Power harbinger sucks, if you want to do good damage you basically have to run full vipers condi build. So, what we end up with here, is a full vipers condi dps spec, with just a little bit of mobility, that is quite tanky, offers some light passive support with the option to trait into more, that deals high damage with an outstandingly braindead simple rotation that anyone can pick up and play using a 900 range hitscan condition weapon. That entire paragraph applies as much to scourge as is does to harbinger. It feels like the exact same spec in a different wrapper.
  16. Try this build in pvp https://imgur.com/a/SsQ3s0K Like a more powerful version of the meta core minionmancer, seems pretty good
  17. I was more talking about from a selfish, non-traited version of the elixirs. I think they should make it so it's 10 seconds un-traited and the elixir share trait reduces durations to not be overpowered. To the guy who commended earlier about trading engi elixirs I'll take that trade, those elixirs have longer durations and better boons and no hp reduction.
  18. Revert to launch epidemic hitscan no condi cap pls
  19. Just had another thought that adding 10 seconds of regen to elixir of promise would be a great fix. Also, it's really dumb that your primary method of stacking blight outside of shroud is through elixirs, and in order to take the elixir recharge trait, you pass on both the traits that make blight benefit you in any way.
  20. I'm so glad whoever is making balance changes on necro these days isn't the same kitten who used to nerf us into the dumpster any time we approached being good in raids during the first 7 years of the game's lifespan. These are actually fine.
  21. This is basically everything I wanted. I think a lot of you are not realizing how insane a 25% damage boost is going to be even if the cost and risk is high. Fear sucks, I wouldn't even notice it's gone, worthless amount of breakbar damage and a duration that caps out at like 2 seconds and long kitten cooldowns. How are you guys not frothing at the mouth at the idea of a torment autoattack? The amount of condi dps this class is going to be able to put out is goddamn insane, necro pistol is probably the best 1h weapon in the game bar none. Grieving + runes of tormenting and sigil of demons for capped torment duration is going to be crazy damage
  22. If you want to be a tanky spec you have three other whole modes of play, core reaper and scourge. I've been asking since launch to add a high skill high risk high reward option that removed the "overpowered" death shroud defence and allowd this class to be an ele-style glass cannon and I finally got what I wanted.
  23. No one is going to take an entire utility slot for 5 seconds of quickness. I'd recommend replacing the swiftness on elixir of anguish with superspeed. The healing amount of elixir of promise is laughable, you lose as much health from the blight as you gain from the healing, and vigor isn't that strong. I can't see anyone ever taking this over the four other meta heal skills on core necro alone. Elixir of risk... I guess might see some use in solo open world pve? I think most people will probably take other utilities and then rely on shroud skill 1 to generate might like reaper does. Elixir of bliss is actually pretty great, a utility version of consume conditions and some much needed LF generation for this spec. The elite skill looks usable I guess, but it seems more geared towards pvp where it has to compete with the dominant oppression machine that is lich form, and in pve you have the absolute monster that is plaguelands.
