  1. NIGEL: It's like, how much more big could this be? And the answer is Norn. Norn ... more big.
  2. If you're open to other ways to get more buttons, I use an offhand keypad, the one Razer sells as "Tartarus". It's a little over $60 on sale and fits big hands. Set up keys 3 + 7-9 as arrows and map the rest to whatever you want (1-10, etc). Then rock the thumb d-pad to temp map 1-10+. I use d-pad forward (right) for shift-F1 through 10 for mounts, others to toggle FPS mode, look behind, 180 flip, etc. Then: default spacebar, thumb button to Interact, d-pad down for Special Action. That's a whole lot of keybinds. Stick targeting and autorun on a replacement G502 or whatever. Super ergo for combat and movement, and you're just using the regular keyboard for menus and chat.
  3. There's already a kodan cub in your homestead. It's playing hide and seek. Good luck!
  4. I ended up waiting for the race event for the upstream run, and got gold on it even with some bad bounces. I think the races have to be done (not the adventures) to complete the fish events achievement anyway.
  5. Weeklies are still doing one important thing, getting people to try different game stuff. For example I know players who came back for Janthir and want WV loot, and just did their first Convergence. Not everyone's been doing those 3/week or daily this whole time. They rolled hell sister so there was some cussing involved.
  6. I like the warclaw as is. Jackal still has ideal uses beyond sand portals. Straight line dashes through enemies. Moderate but damaging drops. Maybe it's ironic that the jackal is really good at feeding warclaws and delivering poop!
  7. Including the hardest HoT fight of all, snarfing down that delicious toxic bacon. Beehives are in good spots for a sometimes boost while floofing around after sniff boxes.
  8. The busted keybinds and frequent use of chain pull in JW have turned me into an ability mouse clicker. Shame and sadness!
  9. Some day we'll find it, the EU connection ~
  10. Yes, some were moved to get them out of quaggan villages and away from (most) events.
  11. Just missing one elite profession: Heart.
  12. I noticed a little of the same, probably due to an older computer. FPS and control responsiveness drop through the floor, every camera movement takes a fraction of a second, and sometimes hitches then snaps to the new position. It's rough and a little nauseating in story, let alone this tomato soup of a meta. I'm glad we didn't have to fight anything in the reliquary room, it would have been impossible. I was having flashbacks to playing Quake over dialup. Expansions? Great. Gemstore? Sure. A couple thou on a new system?
  13. *mail ding* click SUBJECT: Palawa! Ignacious! BODY: Jo
  14. You mean, allow players to stack any infusion they've unlocked on every character? What could possibly go wrong?
  15. Good question! I'd like more mount special abilities that aren't restricted to engagement. It started as a silly thought (bowling over bandits in Brisban on a roller beetle) but imagine a combined arms meta/boss fight. Octovine north gate except moving or disabling blossoms with mount abilities instead of armors. What if now they could be hauled away by Warclaw? Or protecting the dps team on Death-Branded Shatterer by applying big-animal cc to centaur tramplers. There's already interest in solo gunning siege from a hunkered down turtle. And any little buff to skimmer or jackal is appreciated.
  16. Yikes that's low! Just run around Bitterfrost, average gather is over 50 berries per run. 10 minutes with mounts, and switch characters to go again.
  17. Mounted abilities on cool down? Raptor: Round Up (pull) during a raptor leap, without Tail Spin (like Haywire Punch-o-Matic). Springer: Bunny thump, knock down without dismounting. Skimmer: Rejuvenating Air, minor heal when passing over allies. Jackal: Sand Storm, blinks apply aoe Blind along travel. Griffon: at high speeds, does a loop. That's it. Roller Beetle: Wrecking Ball (knock back) without Roll Out (at or above speeds that crush crystals in Domain of Kourna). Skyscale: nope, strong and complicated enough already. Siege Turtle: Hot Swap, switch into the gunner's seat (or back) if not already occupied.
  18. Agreed with above, try both. If you're starting very fresh, I think ranger will be easier to begin with. You can run longbow with an auto attacking pet (guaranteed damage) to tank for you. At level 10, which you'll reach very quickly, you can weapon swap in combat. Add a melee weapon, probably greatsword, it's good all around, but every set has its advantages. The only problem is, while leveling any profession you want to focus on +power stats, and half of ranger's options rely on condition damage. Leveling warriors scale better with +power, but their ranged options are not great while leveling and without a pet you need to be comfortable in melee, dodging close attacks and moving around. Might take some practice.
  19. Completely agreed with this. We no longer run Save Our Supplies on rotation, because the spawns are on a fixed timer. Others are fine, for example Scratch Sentry Defense, which due to power scaling is quickly defeated and moves on to the next round. I'd love to see new challenges after all these years.
  20. It's clearly not going to be fixed any time soon. Guildies who enjoy wvw have gone pure pve for the vault, because of defense events.
