  1. This is nowhere near maintenance mode. Anyone who says it is, either has no idea what maintenance mode is, or they are flat out lying just to stir the pot. Get real, lol.
  2. The game has ALWAYS existed for monetary gain. What would make you think otherwise? The developers enjoyment of well, developing, and the monetization of the game do not have to be mutually exclusive. They have to coexist and I believe they generally do.
  3. You are disagreeing with a premise I have never even made in this thread. Any mention of druid seems to be a stick in the craw. I have consistently stated I do not want anything to change in its current form. I do not want supports to become DPS nor vice versa. I am not certain how much more I can try to explain that. I am truly not trying to be mean to you. I substituted Mesmer to make the point clearer and that was missed. The meat of what I was saying is why can there not be future possible implementations similar to how I explained Mesmer and the greatsword. My grasp of English is firm and I know I am explaining this at a level most people should be able to reasonably understand. What makes you think there can not be future implementations of staff as a dps weapon?
  4. It's about variety. Sometimes I just feel like playing X and sometimes Y and then maybe Z. I may also prefer to play A or B in WvW. It's simply about variety.
  5. A bold statement. And according to that, all the top "dogs" of the mmorpg genre (WoW, FFXIV, ESO, Black Desert) are doing it wrong. A bold statement indeed. Those same "top dogs" also use the outdated - holy trinity - raid new expansion to replace all the gear you had that is junk now - until the next expansion comes out that makes you start all over again, model. GW2 has successfully broken away from that. Not saying I agree that expansions should be scrapped, but to use those games as an example of why GW2 should have expansions makes a fairly uninspired argument.
  6. As has been mentioned, the gold to gem exchange greatly changes the balance. Having the gem store accessible through game play kind of negates the argument.
  7. I don't know, but I got 5 in 3 salvages tonight. You know the answer ... RNG.
  8. This topic has already been beaten to death. The novel you just wrote has already been repeated hundreds of times.
  9. Just messing around last night in Sparkfly Fen and saw TT was about to start. Popped over to Bloodtide Coast, opened LFG, joined a TT squad and a short time later, we won. It's being done. I basically stumbled into it and had success so keep trying!
  10. Indeed, it is. Thanks for reading the whole thing. And like I said... I spend my money on things I wish to purchase from the gemstore.. therefore I got what I paid for.How ANET then choose to spend that money is entirely up to them and if they then choose to give to me content borne out of my spending choices then that's good for me cos it has cost me nothing other than what I paid for. So as I said what is the point of your thread, what are you trying to advocate for cos I see nothing. I am pretty sure the majority of this playerbase understands ANET is a business not a charity and everything they do has a cost to it, so how do you think they are suppose to fund it.. even my kids know money doesn't grow on trees, but it does not change the fact I got what I choose to pay for and then they gave me something extra out of generosity.... It's fine if you're content. However, it's not generosity, it's baked into the model, you can see it explicitly stated by O'Brien in the post two above yours. It's not free, it's funded through the model. I, for one, think having a say in what you're funding is ok here. As it is in every other business where there's two scenarios - business meets demand, or demand leaves. Before leaving it seems reasonable to explore the option of having the business understand how they're failing to engage or meet the demand. This is called entitlement. You purchased a product, therefor you believe you are entitled to have a say in the development of future products. You don't. As you said previously, you also believe that by purchasing a product, you are investing in the company. In truth, you are not an investor, you are a consumer. Huge difference. Actual investors or shareholders, may or may not have a say in future development. Consumers, unless specifically requested by the supplier, do not.
  11. The customers that didn't put anything into the game, I would agree. Do you think these are a majority or minority of the community? Your argument makes zero sense. Free is free. It doesn't matter what you purchased before. If you spend money in the game, you are already buying something for that money. It does not mean you are pre-paying for any future content. As I said, "Some may try and make the argument that this part of the community got what they paid for in the form of whatever shiny they bought and ANet is square with them. I would hope that common sense knocks this argument down fast." Well, common sense does not seem so common coming from someone who does not understand the word "free". You already know it's free, yet you want to continue to argue semantics for whatever reason. What is semantical? You understand that this whole game revolves around micro-transactions, right? And that those transactions are made by players, playing the game? No money, no game, no content. Not no money, lots of game and content. Free is a misnomer that is appropriately applied to only a minority of the community. Of course this game revolves around micro-transactions. That still does not change the fact that LW episodes are FREE. Answer this ... Do you have the option to buy the episode during its release? It is not even possible to do so. They are FREE content. You can't change the definition of a word to suit your agenda. By the way, what even is your agenda here? I'm not sure how you can acknowledge that the game revolves around micro-transactions and then say free. Some content is delivered at 'no charge', it's not developed at 'no charge'. Someone paid, paid and free are the opposite of each other. Players invested, players have expectations, those expectations are ok, it's clear ANet has a much larger interest in keeping revenue pumping than in what the source of that revenue is interested in. How is this unclear in my original post? You seem to think you are "investing" into this game by purchasing products? You (we) are not investing into anything. We are not shareholders who get a say in any of this. If you make a purchase, that's all it is, a simple purchase. And again to be clear, it's not even possible to purchase a LW episode during its release. (Shhhh ... big secret here, they are free) The only thing clear here is that you want to manipulate the English language to suit your unclear agenda.

  15. Lucky for you, you can buy the mount SELECT license! You can choose whatever mount you want, no need to gamble!
  16. I think it's more of a case that you CAN'T see what mountskins the licenses include IN-GAME via a rightclick/preview menu in the gemstore itself, BEFORE you purchase it. That includes both the random and the select licenses. You have to go to an externaly run site just to find out :/ Yes you CAN see what mounts are included. Just go to the mount tab in game. Mouse over any mount and it tells you exactly what license or pack that mount comes from.
  17. What?! No one can decide for an adult what they "really need." That's ridiculous. Unless you live in a dictatorship, then you might not know what you need, because you are being taught what you are supposed to need. But GW2, and pretty much every other game, are in fact a dictatorships. What in the world ever made you think differently?
  18. This was a very interesting video, pretty eye opening. I'm pretty sure the devs are working their butts off and would love to provide us the best game possible. I'm also pretty sure they do not get the support they need from above to make that happen.
  19. I guess you don't understand the meaning of "main".
  20. How does this feel like a troll?Seeing the base mount is about the game not loading the fancy skin before more important things. If your computer can load faster it will show the mount less often. An SSD makes the game load much faster and as a result would make you see the base mount instead of your fancy skin less often and few fewer seconds. Because as i've already mention in previous, comments, people with a more than capable machines experience the same issue, and therefor the performance of my computer is not the matter here... and ive said it like 3 times already Saying it 3 times, or 5 times or even 10 times, doesn't make it true ...
  21. We have four other races that stand perfectly straight, can't we just leave the Charr as unique? I personally like them just the way they are.
  22. and how is anyone gonna know this from a bunch of boring achievements?also, i didn't even start doing this because, as i said, i absolutely hate pointless grind which this skyscale stuff isif it had a story behind it like WoW race unlocks and no huge grind behind it i would love to do it, as it is there isn't a single hair on my body that even thinks of doing this chore.Seriously? You are complaining how horrible the grind is and how there is no story involved and you haven't even started it? Every bit of that story is told while actually doing collections and such. You are not only being told the story, you are participating in it.
  23. Maybe, just maybe, It's done like this on purpose? And the developers don't want everything equal? And maybe, a "solution" is not required? Just a thought.
