  1. Patch after patch for years it doesn’t get buffed or nerfed because it’s well balanced. At some point you’ll need to accept that you’re just bad. Try spending more time practicing to play the game and less time whining on the forums.
  2. Sorry you’ve played so many shallow and simplistic MMOs in your time then.
  3. It’s still fun, fun is subjective, you belong to a vocal minority. If they added all the 6th rune effects back as Relics then all the previous options would be available but with far more flexibility than before. That’s what people should advocate for, not daftly asking for the entire system to be reverted. That’s just a moronic request.
  4. I wouldn’t say it’s a massive failure, it’s created far more options than before as I can now have the exact stats I want while experimenting with all sorts of different builds based around different Relics. it would however be even better if a lot of the missing old rune effects were added back however.
  5. Because skills aren’t buffed and balanced in a vacuum. Similar skills between two entirely different professions are not meant to be identical. Skills and traits are balanced using the big picture, what does the whole profession and all specs have access to. Players like you can’t understand the big picture, you play poor builds badly, you don’t try and learn about your opponents and improve, you whine and complain and spend more time on the forum than in game practicing. People like you and Burnfall.
  6. No, Guardian has simply remained as one of the most balanced classes for the past 11 years, receiving the fewest buffs, nerfs and changes in general. Other professions and specs tend to swing more on the pendulum from too strong to underpowered. Some players spend more time complaining on the forums rather than learning to play better and practicing.
  7. The classic z-axis issue that Leap of Faith has always had, it struggles with targets above but will absolutely never hit a target on ground that’s below you. It just tries to leap and hit in the air on the same level as where you leapt from. Same thing that happens if you use it when facing up or down a ramp / some stairs.
  8. Wow, Staff Ele with Frost Bow, now that's a time I've not heard about for a long time! 😃 Takes me back to the PvP days of - Bull's Charge > Frenzy > Hundred Blades > Eviscerate
  9. Zerker Staff OWP Soulbeast, Zerker Scepter Daredevil; both are utterly broken, able to delete people at range in 1-2 seconds spamming just one skill.
  10. I'd prefer a whole new set of utility abilities for every profession; heal, 4 utilities and an elite.
  11. The Centaurs of Queensdale must truly fear you and your Deathless Courage.
  12. The ICD needs to stay. They just need to make sure that Willbender Virtue effects also get stripped when you swap specs as several people have been exploiting those to stack Willbender buffs on DH.
  13. Playing GW2 for the PvE 🤣 No trinity, no class identity, extremely limited mechanics. Just memorise a dps rotation and build your character the way some website tells you, then avoid the big orange shapes on the ground.
  14. The meta issue with GW2 is the way the PvE systems have been created, to have a game with no trinity and no traditional class roles or fantasy elements. You have a game built on providing generic boons, dealing power and condition damage, in melee or at range. Everything is balanced around that, around simple DPS rotations and meeting DPS checks while avoiding flashing orange shapes on the floor. The professions and their elite specs have been purposefully homogenised over time to allow everyone an option to do one of the GW2 PvE roles due to the player feedback over the years. (Chrono used to have unique Alacrity). That's just how the meta will always be in this game, it's been built that way. If you want something more with all sorts of options being available and less simple meta then you need a different kind of fantasy MMO that isn't built around simple homogenised professions, but rather class-based fantasy with unique spells and abilities, each with pros and cons, some stronger in certain situations than others on purpose. Different types of physical and magical damage, different armour and magical resistances; different classes for tank, healer, crowd control and damage roles.
  15. I love it, I'm massively looking forward to the changes to runes and the relic system. There are so many different combinations I want to try out for different builds, it's going to unlock so much more potential to get the benefits of runes and the benefits of certain bonuses that were previously only available on a rune set that totally didn't match your build. This also makes so much development sense as before there were some huge disparities between the kinds of bonuses that existed for Power vs Condition damage for example, in order to provide all of that equally they would have had to have made so many additional rune sets. This new system is so much better, they can spend dev time far more productively just making special Relic effects that everyone can pair with the plethora of existing Rune stat combinations. Win, win for all. So much more choice and flexibility for all players.
  16. Apparently you utterly misunderstood the entire simple design purpose behind Elite Specialisations... No patience, desire or tolerance? Really? But your posts on these forums have been playing that perfectly.
  17. Perhaps you could record your next losing fight with a Willbender so we can see what you do and give you some advice? Are you using active defenses, dodges, mobility and range to mitigate the key damage skills? What is your build? What are you even playing? GW2 has a lot of different specs and a fair number of them work as rock < paper < scissors to one another. Some fights are an uphill struggle and the best you might do is to simply die slowly against an equally skilled player, some fights are much easier as your spec vs another. For example, some fights I know I need to be aggressive from the start and continue the momentum. Some fights I need to feint an aggressive start then go defensive from their burst and then riposte and go back on the offensive after avoiding them. Some fights I need to be defensive right from the start before trying to counter once the opening burst threats are over. Some I just can't beat them, but it's fun to try anyway, rather than complain on the forums. What's the joy in a game where everything is easy? If you want that just go play condi P/P Thief and win every 1v1 in a frustrating way. If you're an Ele then Fresh Air and Cele can both wreck all Guardian specs, Scepter is your friend.
  18. Solid feedback and ideas across all the Physical skills and traits mentioned. Especially underwhelming traits like Deathless Courage. Sword changes are just basic quality of life since Warrior Hammer originally got its movement penalty removed, then more recently Guard GS. Valour ideas are good too as Monk's Focus is a little light since the cooldown changes which also nerfed traited RF. Resistance is a good idea as damage Guardians are so easily neutered by Weakness, Cripple, Chill etc. Heaven's Palm absolutely needs some kind of sustain added to make it worthwhile as a different option to take. We've been using Renewed Focus on damage Guards since the original Tome of Courage changes, some of us have always used RF since 2012. The only other idea I have for Heaven's Palm would be to make it an evade for its duration also while leaving the current cooldown; some added sustain for an obvious and slow casting skill, a fair trade for giving up the invul and Virtues reset of RF.
  19. The Axe is underwhelming outside of Firebrand as you have to take Unrelenting Criticism when taking an Axe already on Firebrand to make it a decent choice. Outside of FB it lacks a significant amount of bleeds without the trait (stacks around 8-12 consistently when traited and only 3-6 when untraited). The Daze on Axe 2 is also necessary as it's a Symbol with a very long animation time for an Axe in melee compared to other similar weapons as Axes tend to be fast weapons, the cc pay-off is integral.
  20. Yes, I wanted to explore the idea of a short duration soft-CC Symbol going off automatically at range on the AA chain rather than being a key #2 weapon skill. The reason is because I wanted Pistols to act like more of a mobile, high damage and control set of weapons, focused more around dealing with 1 or two key targets and less of the AoE pressure that almost all the other Guardian weapons provide. So many Guardian weapons are spoiled during balance because they are balanced around the idea that 5 targets could be getting hit 5 times for every Symbol, which outside of easy areas of PvE just never happens at all and it means we end up with very inferior weapons for smaller skirmishes and highly mobile fights. In PvP, WvW and most mobile PvE fights big and small the Symbols often only hit once or twice; we know that the devs have a power limit on weapons and I worry that too much *weapon power* is consumed during balancing by the main Symbol on a weapon because of what it could do, when in actual gameplay it does so little. Enemies take 1 or 2 hits and allies get 1 or 2 seconds of buffs. The Guardian already has plenty of support and AoE options in melee and at range, its time to provide something different to really augment and expand the playstyle options and combo in interesting ways with Sword, Scepter, Mace, Axe, Torch, Shield, Focus & OH-Sword. How is Pistol 4 overloaded? Ele Focus 4 in Earth is: Damage & 5s Crippled (5 targets) 3 seconds of Reflect Cure 3 conditions. 25s recharge. Instant use, can use skills while they have the reflect up. And that is balanced around the idea that they have 20 weapon skills at any given time to rotate through also. My Pistol 4 is a channeled skill, you aren't doing anything else while channeling it.
  21. Here are my ideas and wishes for the main and offhand pistols. The idea would be a hybrid damage weapon with some ranged control + defensive elements to add elements that the Guardian currently lacks in its weapons and create new interesting options with the current main and offhand weapons we have available or an interesting new ranged dual-weapon combination. Balancing considerations were made using Necromancer Pistol & Scepter, Warrior Maces & Daggers, Ranger Axes & Torch, Mesmer Scepter & Pistol for reference. Guardian Pistol/Pistol ideas
  22. Here's the weapon and the entire line that suits you and your 11,200 posts.
  23. English Civil War: London Lobsters Wearing full plate and using flintlock pistols.
  24. I wouldn't really class Guild Wars 2 as a high-fantasy game that evokes the idea of Paladins, Clerics, Monks, Bards, Magicians, Enchanters etc, with all the various technology, laser beams, computers, robots, firearms, internal combustion engines and stuff mashed together with all sorts of magic and magical beings. It's more like, Warhammer year 1. 39,999 years before the grim dark future.
