  2. No. Noooo. Looking at youtube videos demonstrating the attack chain, that animation is clunky as s h i t. Not to mention, having it tether like that? Urgh.I find the new animation is still more unique than any other sword animation. The auto chain looks like a dance, with its steps and sword twirls.Maybe the sword could use some overall improvement to utility, but the auto is fine honestly.

  4. On my pure, pure dps build i run eagle over snow owl. My secondary is jacaranda. This because my build is literally the merge, sic' em, zephyr and rapid fire to absolutely destroy most classes.I use eagle over owl for ferocious, and because if my target survives for any reason i can quickly distance myself to not get absolutely splattered because i have no defensives. Gazelle has a good sprint, but not as good as the leap + swiftness On a regular, more sustainy build i dont think eagle is better over owl.
  5. Youre missing my point. Nerfed does not mean useless. Useless is literally useless. Pet dies? For the duration of it's death there's nothing you can do with your profession mechanic. Traits and shouts that depend on two will not get its full use, if any. A deadeye can still F1 no matter how weak, a mirage still has access to mirage cloak. Weak does not mean they're unusable. I cannot think of a single profession where an outside source can outright disable the profession mechanic. Except for the ranger pet.
  6. Ranger downstate is, yes, aside from the autoattack arguably the strongest downstate IG. However a pet cannot rapidly heal it's owner and interrupt an enemy stomp, it's one or the other. Just saying. As for allowing pet revival... well, other classes have no idea what its like to have your profession mechanic rendered useless. Playing a core ranger or druid in this powercreep meta, your pet will not survive even if put on passive. This means traits and utilities will be made largely useless. Switch pets? Youve got a 60 second cd and your second pet will die within seconds.Imagine for example that a mesmer would be unable to spawn phantasms upon using a weapon skill because of some dumb reason you cannot control. It is infuriating. Most pets have around 11k-20k hp. They cannot evade any attacks, nor heal themselves. They get cleaved within seconds. Beastmode revival is a godsend- finally a way to have some control over your pets HP.Either increase pet hp, or let the merge revival stay (with perhaps some tweaks). This system of pet death is ancient and should be changed.
  7. This, so much. It feels like if you bring core ranger/druid into a teamfight in spvp as it is atm it dies within seconds and youre burdened by a permadead pet.
  8. ,,, gkjhfg if you wish to "fix" ranger longbow ranger to 1500 then you better ask all projectiles (DH longbow, warrior longbow, elementalist staff, thief shortbow etc) be fixed too. They all reach much further than ""intended"" ranger (longbows reach +1500 range, thief shortbow can actually hit same distance as DE rifle with a bit of fiddling. i think i've managed the same distance on shortbow as kneeling rifle). it's nitpicking but i'm sick and tired of everyone always pointing ranger longbow out as the only offending one when it comes to projectiles like thesei've got a feeling doing that would kill the trait off though, unless it does something in addition to providing bonus vitalityremove dead or alive trait from game then. also; see invigorating bond. it does the same thing you're suggestingfair enoughhmidk about other rangers but i'd prefer the duration be cut instead along a slightly less drastic nerf to % damage (10sec duration of a 40% damage increase is incredibly strong and should not last that long). downside to sic 'em is that there's no defensive utility to it, it's purely damagesignet of stone was nerfed. it went from 8 sec to 3 sec, CD from 80 to 40. unlike warrior endure pain the duration can't be increased because there's no trait for it (yes the recharge can be lowered but brutish seals is imply not worth it)yeah MMS is a bit ridiculous. arctic wolf as a dominant pet... since when? surely you mean snow owl. personally i'm against nerfing core pets because they are heavily underused and garbage compared to xpac pets. they need more love. they need to be improved. increasing the CD though on swoop providing it gets an evasion would actually be a fair trade-off thoughmore love for unused stances is always goodi'm just happy griffon stance was changed tbh at least it's not a godawful pick anymorealso yeah.
  9. i'm waiting for a beastmaster spec for this tbh lol. they've been neglecting ranger pet traits and skills last two xpacs, so I thirst for one that makes your pet actually viable.
  10. Im aware SoTP grants stab. So fine if you're knitpicking, that's two. But if you get caught by a rampage CC you will not have time to activate SoTP before you're caught in chain. From that perspective, dollyak stance is only skill because it breaks stun and grants stab. PoF elite is actually decent :p it's a solid pick for most builds
  11. @Jimbru.6014Honestly tho, the gazelle charge? Most broken ass shoite i've ever seen on a pet. It clips through terrain , a great example being the aerodome training arena. The bloody pet will actually charge, somehow clip through the cliff and into the water, from where it has to run a huge distance around the side of the arena to get back onto the same level as the enemy.Maybe if the gazelle had a teleport to allow for instant repositioning in such case, but that wouldn't thematically make sense. Great pet skills, infuriating execution.
  12. I don't know, heard of a skill called rampage? Even a ranger not running glass can easily be caught by that, with only one skill that grants stability. Bait their dolly stance with any other cc and then rampage. They will be caught. Also lb3 is not insta cast :F it looks like it, with no cast time on tool tip, but it has an animation thus not insta cast. Use it's unreliableness against the ranger- this skill will always fire when pressed, no LoS warnings, no turn around to face target, it will go off even if you're behind the ranger (as such wasting the entire skill)
  13. @DeceiverX.8361 stoneform actually only lasts like 2 sec in WvW despite what the tooltip says. If you scroll down to some earlier posts you'll see people wondering about if it's a bug or not
  14. Warrior has access to two separate 6 sec unblockables... reaper has a 4 sec unblockable which can be increased to 9 sec of unblockable-ness ?

You wont be an exception.CC: shiro elite, glint elite, staff 5, staff 2, sword 4 (soft cc), axe 5, dwarf chains (taunt is still cc), centaur elite. Those just the top of my head. That's already a good five CCs that can be put in one build.I'm sad to have to agree with you, but yes reve has little in terms of stab.1200 closer can be dodged, yes... but you'll still teleport. You just miss the strike. It still counts as a gap closer. You can super easily bait dodges with shiro/glint elite too. Just stow weapons. Ezpz.
  16. Critique is fine. But theres nothing as infuriating as someone who doesn't play the class "offering critique". It doesn't offer anything concrete. You're just saying hurr delete the class, not offering anything of value that could be used to fix your gripes. Like reworking MMS. The synergies in there bring a lot of crazy damage. AoO shouldn't stack with maul. Rework opening strike. Anything but "op ples nref" Ranger has many counters. Warriors, power revenants, condi/power thieves (sword in particular), engi, mesmer etc. Basically professions that can reliably catch up, cc and burst out high sustained damage.Ranger is not bad. It's in a ok-spot. If it's so OP, how come it's not meta. It barely even makes the small-scale roaming list. If you played soulbeast you'd know a realistic crit is around 7k. You do realize that soulbeast is a spec designed to be high damage. Not to mention, people already know what to expect and watch out for from a soulbeast. I suggest you take a moment to duel some rangers. Apparently you still struggle against them.
  17. Warriors have lots of resistance, but once that runs out they have trouble with mirage too. Guardian on the other hand, especially medi guards, have often a full bar of meditations that all remove like 2 conditions on use. So yeah. It gets pretty easy then.
  18. I didnt say that lmao. I just said it's weaker in melee, not helpless.Also, not all your utilities will be untouched. You will most likely have used your elite, be it strength of the pack or OWP as well as quickening zephyr, for your burst. If you're running sic 'em that's another utility used too, leaving only your heal and third utility.Even more so on a dps build you can't realistically use WHaO because then you have zero condi cleanse :v
  19. @whoknocks.4935 Say I get a perfect opening on an enemy and they're at 25% hp. What now. I blasted my only ranged CC for damage, so they can heal themselves in relative safety. My burst skills are on at least 10 seconds cooldown I have the advantage at the moment, heal and range still intact. But I wont be able to uphold my range advantage until my burst is back off cooldown. Long range shot isnt going to finish the job, and my unblockable will have run out by now. Closing a 1500 unit distance isnt very hard.Maybe I smoke assult and switch to melee. Try for a wordly impact to keep up pressure. Not impossible, but likely that enemy will dodge because the combo is obvious. Now my range advantage has been lost and I'm fighting in melee, where other classes often have the advantage instead. Sure, GS has a block and some evades, even a cc. It'll keep me going. For a bit. I rather use those cooldowns to reposition. Fighting in melee against almost any other class/build will give them the advantage. Even classes with ranged option like holo or staff mirage excell in melee. So it's not a position you want to be in for long. So by the time my cooldowns for burst are off again i will probably be in melee wether i wanted it or not. Either by initiating it myself, or enemy closing distance. Any advantage I got from opening burst is also gone, aside from classes with physical damage invuln like endure pain. I have to spend cooldowns now to get myself out of melee and into a position to burst. Also, run-down of skills. A merged rapid fire without sic 'em will land around 9k-11k if all crit, nothing is evaded. Any higher and you forgo signet of stone for sic 'em (you will want another stunbreak than zephyr because you'll end up using it for burst) and wilderness survival for MMS (no sustain, meager condi clear if using bear stance). And no, very few rangers take stoneform over access to might or a call of the wild. Too short duration, too long cooldown.Your LRS will hit 1.5k, maybe 2-3k merged. It's really not that often you manage to 100-0 someoen from range without them reaching you. Even necroes, the sitting ducks, can catch up to you.
  20. Ranger stealth teleport OP. I hate it too when my fellow rangers do a stealth and teleports away. I think the ranger's stealth teleports should be nerfed absolutely. "Skill bugs out and i take damage"???Oh of course i forgot about the ranger ability to ignore damage invulnerabilites, shame on you rangers for abusing this bug, you're truly the only class that can do this. It's absolutely not OP not knowing what's actually going on.

  22. Translation: i made things up and i will not prove they exists. Yknow I had a person once tell me something similar about demon stance unyielding anguish. I knew that during beta it inflicted self-cripple, but they refused to believe me because "only necro has self corrupts". It was obviously removed later but i was new and didn't know where to find proof, so i was left with only what I absolutely knew to be true without proof. Turns out I was right. Unyielding Anguish did inflict self-cripple. @Riranor.6315 obviously knows what he's talking about, so I'm more inclined to believe their rational posts rather than yours, as you clearly refuse to have a open discussion, happily talking down on others. If you want people to listen to what you have to say, then you've got to not be so pricey about it. It's no good being condescending to others.
