  1. The point is that they revived a major event from Season 1. That's the only point that matters. Hopefully the Aetherblades won't crash this one, though.
  2. Why would we be speculating Cantha and not the Far Shiverpeaks? Jormag is totally still a thing
  3. I guarantee you've gotten all the answers you need by now, but I don't feel like reading them, and I want to give me own. So yes, the times are the same times they were released with. Some of the times are extremely tight with a fully Mastered Beetle, so it may be too much to ask to shave 5 seconds on a rental. I have two accounts, one of which has the Beetle and I know I wasn't able to manage full gold achievements on the Rental account. While it may be my opinion, the degree of difficulty for the five tracks is:5) Gendarran Fields4) Diessa Plateau3) Brisban Wildlands2) Mount Maelstrom1) Snowden Drifts If you want to practice racing in general, run through Gendarran Fields. When you're ready for some tight turns Diessa Plateau has a couple. When you're ready to tear your hair out and gouge out your eyes, head over to Snowden. I'm actually amazed it hasn't come up, but Dragon Bash has a pretty good track also that you should try. It has one serious drift turn, and a second less serious one.As for binding keys, you shouldn't need the Beetle unlocked to bind it because the second key is universal. All you need to do is complete the first mission in PoF and unlock the Raptor, which will allow you to bind mount keys. OR, I think, unlock the Warclaw in WvW which doesn't require any story playing, but does require WvW play. Also, this will allow you to unbind mount skill 1 from space, so that you can jump without boosting.
  4. I only sPvP if I want a specific skin that I don't have and can't get anywhere else. I don't at the moment.
  5. I didn't see a problem. I did my first Stampede Wednesday, during prime hours, and I didn't have any issues getting from cluster to cluster and getting credit. I didn't follow the zerg, I just went to nearby emitters. It's not like there is a special path. I was not playing a character that's particularly good and quick damage spread either. I do agree, though, that they should be scaling them up.
  6. So, it's cool you think people are just bragging, but that's probably not the case. It is a fairly simple maneuver if you know what you're doing and practice. I will admit I have an advantage in that I have a Naga with Space and V bound to the 1 and 4 thumb buttons so I just roll my thumb along them. Still, even before that failure to get it was the exception more than the rule. Incidentally, your premise is wrong. You should not be pressing them simultaneously, you should be pressing jump, then dodge, in rapid succession. Jump has to happen before dodge or it won't work. That's why your macro is not 100% effective. If it's doing them at the same time it's possible for dodge to get registered before jump. everytime that happens it will fail. If you added a fraction of a second delay between the space key and the dodge key being pressed it would probably work every time. You would also be breaking the code of conduct for use of a macro.
  7. Having an image to go along with the poll would be helpful
  8. I got a skyscale because the entirely time I was traversing the maps working on getting the skyscale I was thinking to myself how much easier every map would be if only I had one. Also, hovering on a skyscale allows you to afk out of combat without ever having to worry about being engaged by random mobs. Skyscales all by themselves are fashionable, whether or not anyone can see your gear.
  9. Having release state world complete makes me pretty proud
  10. It's not actually what he says, but how he says it.
  11. I ask again: what happened to his golem body? Not even dragons digest metal. Also, what happened to Balthazar's sword? There is no reason to assume that they weren't digested. Broken down into magiparticles and absorbed
  12. Typically collection items are unlocked when you acquire them. Check the collection, you shouldn't actually need the item in your inventory, unless it's a component for the mystic forge
  13. I don't have a problem with this, but the only thing I want is Asuran Golem Mounts
  14. There really isn't any, per say, lore to go by. The Skyscale is a new species created from the mysts. I can't remember exactly where in the study of the creatures by Gorrik it says that. But I do recall in a comment he makes that they came to be. because of what Kralk did. Or at least something in that general idea. But since there are eggs and most species on Tyria are male and female to reproduce, then one can gather from him saying 'she' that there are male and females. So by him referring to it as a she we have to conclude that this hatchling just happened to be female. And by taking into account that Gorrik named the beetle Pete implying male then like Danikat says he of all Asuran's would know the difference of a male or female of a species. There is also the distinct possibility that as a magical species literally built of nothing, and spawned from nothing, that they are all female and reproduce asexually.
  15. Especially since the whole skyscale collection started with Gorrik studying their lifecycle and reproduction. I had been wondering if everyone's skyscale is a female or if it's random, but either way it's convenient for me since I'd already decided mine would be female. (In the absense of any in-game info I'm aware of my raptor, springer, jackal and warclaw are male - and the beetle of course - and the skimmer, griffon and skyscale are female, mainly to fit the names I gave them.) Was it intentional that all the land based mounts are male, while all the flying mounts are female? Just an interesting observation, I thought.
  16. I come at this, not from a unique perspective, but not necessarily a common perspective. I have 27 characters currently, between two accounts. I generally do the content with my main, but over time I tend to get to it with my other characters. I've found most of the content to be very easy because my main is in full clerics, and as such is extremely difficult to actually kill. It takes him longer to finish a fight because he's not doing ideal damage, but I also get to experience the full impact of the fight without tearing through it. However, I have other characters that are much better specced for damage and burn through things easily, they're typically more squishy, though, and suddenly the content becomes more challenging. I get the feeling that a lot of the contention about content is the idea that specs have different degrees of compatibility and capability within each combat, and there are far more people that have few to one character vs those of us with many many characters. They don't experience the content from a different perspective and it's either hard or easy without any deviation.
  17. Oh. Probably. I thought s/he was talking about one of the NFC’s with unique dresses that players keep asking for when s/he said ”I couldn't take my eyes off your dresses and the dyes you used to color them.” but ANet makes sense too. He's talking about Outfits, Dyes and Chairs in the BLTP. The gambling remark is about Chests. So you're up to speed.
  18. I know. And my point still is . . .The GW2 team tried to put a completely discombobulated false, artificial, constructof a mount into place. And they failed. Why? BECAUSE IT MIMICS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN REAL LIFE! At least the Raptor is believable. It seems like a real animal. It moves, shimmies, sits, rises, scratches itself, does sooo many things a REAL animal would do. If you have a pet, you will know exactly what I am saying. The Griffon and Skyscale mimic absolutely NOTHING in real life. That is why they FEEL false, feel like a mockery of real animals, and that is why they fail. Is it a poem? Am I supposed to be reading it to a beat? Why is it broken up like this? It provides nothing to the argument. Though, realistically, I don't know why there even is an argument. You clearly don't care about what anyone else actually has to say here. You offhandedly dismiss valid arguments that quite effectively answer your question, while coming back over and over with an invalid approach to the question. Birds can't hover. Humming birds are literally the only birds able to hover because they flap their wings similarly to insects. But no other type of birds can hover. Nothing moving it's wings that slowly can hover. Birds can't fly backwards, not to any extended degree. All flying mounts in other games are ridiculously unrealistic, so how can you come in here and argue for the realism of any such mounts? These mounts are not designed to be realistic. No mounts, in any game, are designed to be realistic. Mounts are designed to fulfill a purpose. In most games it's to traverse the map faster than walking. In this game it's to do that, and also to accomplish a variety of specific extra features. That's why. That's why we don't just have a bird that can fly like a bird, which can't like like any flying mount in any other game ever made anyway.
  19. Multiple traits and abilities include unblockable as a function. If the power destroys the projectile it's just gone. If it blocks the projectile, that feature activates and it does not get blocked. It's providing counter measures.
  20. This is particularly noticeable in Jahia for the Heart to bring the factions together. They only periodically trigger so the massive crowd scrambles to take whoever does appear. It's more than a little frustrating. It would be better if they were all available all the time
  21. That's an interesting thought, I have 21 characters, I only need to do map completion on 10 each at that rate
